00:00Liverpool fans had been dreaming of another title and now under new management, they've got one.
00:09Arne Schlott's first season has delivered the ultimate prize, with the club celebrating a Premier League triumph that few saw coming so soon after Klopp's departure.
00:21We spoke to Liverpool world journalist Will Rooney to unpack what this title means for Liverpool's identity moving forward
00:29and how Schlott has already put his stamp on the team.
00:33The celebrations at Anfield were about more than just silverware, they were about resilience, transition and belief.
00:40As Schlott looks to build on this momentum, the question is, how far can this new Liverpool era go?
00:49So Will, looking at Liverpool and obviously now champions confirmed in terms of the remainder of the season, these last few games,
00:57how does Arne Schlott sort of approach them? Because it's very easy to sort of drop down in terms of momentum, etc.
01:04When you've won the league and you've got that confirmed over the line, how does he go about it?
01:09Does he bring some younger players into the fold? Does he maybe go all out and try and get to that 90 points, which is achievable?
01:16How do you see it going in terms of these last few games?
01:19I mean, it can just simply be a complete party for the Liverpool fans from now until the end of the season.
01:24Yeah, I think it'll be, as you say, a month-long fiesta for the supporters.
01:29I don't think they'll care too much.
01:31But Arne Schlott's a man of pride, a man who wants to see his team do well.
01:38And I think the fact that Liverpool were back in training on Wednesday underlines that
01:43they haven't been out on the ale for a week long.
01:49They had the celebrations Sunday night, had Monday off, Tuesday off and the back to it.
01:56And as you say, Liverpool want to get as many points as possible to show that they are very much
02:04worthy champions. There have been so much at the end of the season from the track to saying,
02:09well, it's been a weekly year to get to 94 points in any year.
02:14That's a great total.
02:16So we all want to end strongly. We want to obviously take momentum into next season.
02:22The players will want to be the same as well.
02:24You know, you've got a player like Mo Salah looking to record the most goals and assists
02:28in the Premier League season, want to keep breaking records.
02:31But I think there will be a little bit of rotation.
02:34Some players deserve a chance because Arne Schlott said the squad's been so important
02:40this season. You know, the ones who, you know, he has favoured his core group of 14, 15,
02:46but there have been players who've been there every week.
02:50Might be different how Manchester City go and recruit, how Arsenal go and recruit, etc.
02:54But look, if you're having a bet now, he'd probably be back in Liverpool to go and do it again.
03:00And as you say, the Champions League was a little bit disappointing.
03:03They only reached their Isles of 16, ran into a very good PSG side who could go on and win
03:08the competition. So they were unlucky there.
03:11The next season, Liverpool will be going into the campaign, trying to create history by surpassing
03:17Man Utd and going out and out for the most titles won in England.
03:21And that's a big thing because you think of all those titles won under Sir Alex Ferguson,
03:27Man Utd and Liverpool were left in the wake.
03:32And now Liverpool have got a chance, given the issues at Man Utd, to become the dominant
03:37force again in England.
03:39Now, I know Man City have obviously been that in recent years.
03:42But I mean, in terms of clubs of real stature around the globe, you know, Man Utd and Liverpool
03:49are right up there.
03:50And why wouldn't you want to be part of this journey?
03:52Why wouldn't you want to come and play for a manager in Arna Slott who has proven himself
03:57to have real acumen, real prowess?
04:00A lot of people doubted him maybe last summer.
04:04Was he going to be the right recruit?
04:06Was there going to be the right air appointments?
04:08I mean, even after the Tottenham game himself, he admitted that some would have been looking
04:13at it thinking it's the right choice because he knew he was an unheralded name.
04:20But he's gone and proven himself leaps, you know, manifold.
04:29So, if you're, say, a striker and Liverpool needs one, why wouldn't you want to go and
04:34lead the line for Liverpool if you're a left-back?
04:36Why wouldn't you want to go and play in defence that, you know, has been excellent defensively
04:40and you're going to have a licence to get forward as well?
04:42Why wouldn't you want to go and do that?
