Liverpool face a key decision on Caoimhín Kelleher’s future, with the goalkeeper attracting interest ahead of the summer transfer window. While the club values him highly, his desire for regular first-team football could force their hand.
Meanwhile, Arne Slot is preparing for a challenging restart at Anfield, with Liverpool knocked out of all but one title race this season. With the Premier League their only remaining shot at silverware, the pressure will be on to ensure they stay competitive under new leadership.
To get more insight on Liverpool’s stance on Kelleher and Slot’s upcoming challenge, I spoke to Will Rooney of LiverpoolWorld.

00:00Liverpool face a key decision on Kermien Keleher's future, with the goalkeeper attracting interest
00:08ahead of the summer transfer window. While the club values him highly, his desire for
00:13regular first-team football could force their hand. Meanwhile, Arnie Schlott is preparing
00:18for a challenging restart at Anfield, where Liverpool knocked out of all but one title
00:23race this season. With the Premier League looking likely, but their only remaining shot
00:28at silverware, the pressure will be on to ensure they stay competitive under new leadership.
00:34To get an insight on Liverpool's stance on Keleher and Schlott's upcoming challenges,
00:39I spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World.
00:58It's possible he might have played his last game for Liverpool. In all honesty,
01:27in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, there was even a little bit of debate around
01:32would he start, wouldn't he start. I think he was always going to start for me. He deserved it.
01:39He's won the competition twice for Liverpool already. You don't need him playing the first
01:43leg of the semi-final because Alisson needs a little bit of rhythm, Schlott said. But look,
01:50these conversations are starting to happen now because Liverpool are so far ahead in the league
01:55and because they are having some issues in the squad now. Now comes the end of the season and
02:01regardless if Liverpool weren't stuttering, I think we'd be having this conversation anyway
02:06because Keleher, as you say, his future is up in the air. He's got one year left on his deal.
02:12Liverpool have got Giorgio Mamadashvili arriving in the summer. Where does that leave him? It'd
02:20be unfair on all that to keep him for a year and potentially be number three. Liverpool
02:26Keleher is a real top-class Premier League goalkeeper and they'll allow him to leave.
02:30It just depends what sort of fee can he get. If he'll get £20 million for him, I think that'd be
02:36a fantastic return with a year left on his deal. If we rewind back a bit further than that,
02:41they obviously crashed out of the FA Cup, then they out of Europe as well to a fantastic PSG
02:49side. Obviously Arne Schlott saying it's probably the best game of football he's been involved in
02:53over those two legs was great for the neutral as well, but then they crash out of Europe
02:58and then obviously losing the Carabao Cup final as well. They are lucky in this position that the
03:04league form is so good and has been so fantastic. Barring that though, they have crashed out of all
03:10three of the competitions. What's the sort of take? We've spoken before and you've been very
03:16sure that Liverpool fans would have certainly taken the league over anything else this season,
03:22but it must be a big learning curve for Arne Schlott and his players.
03:26Yes, I think so. I think there's a few people getting a bit annoyed because people are saying
03:33they're only going to win the Premier League title. Well, the Premier League title wasn't
03:38even in the equation for Liverpool to start the season because no-one expected them to be
03:42challenging. Jürgen Klopp leaving, Arne Schlott coming in, everyone thought it was going to be
03:46a season of transition. Finishing the top three, top four, qualify for the Champions League again,
03:54maybe have a good run in the Champions League, maybe win a domestic trophy,
03:58but instead they've gone to win the league. As I say, that week, it was,
04:04I don't want to say damaging because that has profound connotations because it's not damaging.
04:13They've been two tough blows though to take. PSG want, they deserve to go out on the balance of
04:19the two legs. They played well in the second leg, just ran out of steam, lost on penalties.
04:27For me, the Carabao Cup final loss was tougher to take. Does it come down to, does he trust
04:33enough of the players, the squad that he's inherited? When he gets some of his own players in,
04:39will he look to rotate a little bit more?
