00:00Yeah, of course, we have had a bit of a break just to go back, have a reset, have a think
00:08about it. We have had a few days off. So we have had time as a team to reset and go back
00:14to the things that we were doing well. And it's about peaking at the right time. And
00:19this is the perfect time to start and the last four games to go. From here, it'll be
00:24just about focusing on what we can do better as a team and going out there and playing
00:30with a lot of freedom.
00:33Hi, is there any update on Akshar's injury? Is he available for the match? Akshar Patel,
00:38he got injured in the last one.
00:40I think, I'm not sure actually, but I think everything looks fine. It's not something we
00:47are concerned about. I think, anyways, we'll know tomorrow. You guys will know at the toss.
00:54What could be the biggest challenge for you tomorrow?
00:58Well, every game is a different challenge. It's about winning moments and winning particular
01:04moments in the game. And we've been doing that really well in most of the games that
01:11we've played. And we're sitting in a decent position. But having said that, we need to
01:15go out there and play with a lot of freedom, play the way that works for us and which has
01:22worked for us in the first few games as well. And just continuing to do our processes in
01:27the right way.
01:34Like Sir said, it's a crucial match. Every game is a must-win game now for you to qualify.
01:39What is the mood in the district room? How confident are you that DC can qualify?
01:44I think we're not looking at it as, you know, a must-win game or anything. Every game is
01:53a challenge. Every game we go out there is to win. So, we would like to win tomorrow and,
01:58you know, keep going further in the tournament. So, it's about focusing on ourselves, focusing
02:03on how we play the game and how well prepared we are and how we go about playing, our way of
02:11playing. So, and at the end, you know, once you focus on the process, the results will
02:16take care of itself. So, it's about, for us at least, it's about going and playing the
02:21way that works for us and it's about continuing to do that.
02:26Karun, just an extension of what you were asking. I mean, now you're on 12 points, DC's
02:30on 12 points. There are two other teams who are, you know, chasing you, snapping at your
02:35heels, LSG and KKR as well. Then there's Punjab just above you. So, how much of the talk
02:41is in the dressing room about qualifying for the playoffs or, you know, taking it one
02:46match at a time? Because I'm sure the race to the playoffs is now getting tighter and
02:50you are the team and the tournament is at a very delicate stage at this moment.
02:55Yeah, the talk is only about what we can control and what we can improve on. What we can control
02:59is how we play and we win our games. You know, we can't keep looking behind us or looking
03:04in front of us. We have to look at ourselves and look at winning our games and that is
03:09probably our mindset going into tomorrow and it will be the mindset in every game that
03:15we play. So, it's about, again, like I said, following what we know best how to do and going
03:21out there and expressing ourselves.
03:25I must ask, you know, in this tournament we've seen a lot of young talent. I mean, SRH, though
03:31they are at the verge of getting eliminated. They have Abhishek Shama, we've seen Suryavanshi,
03:37the sensation. So, I just wanted to ask as a player, you know, these young talents that
03:43are cropping up in the IPL tournament, is there any way that anybody can strategize against
03:50that and how do you see the, you know, cricket building at such a young level?
03:55I think that's the beauty of the IPL, you know. I think every single season that we have played,
04:00there's always been someone who comes up and someone who puts their name up and it's amazing
04:05to see all the young guys doing so well and it's going to continue in the years to come.
04:10So, it's about, you know, the IPL itself is such a big opportunity for everyone. So,
04:17be it youngsters or be it players who have been playing for many years, it's just, again,
04:20an amazing opportunity to come and showcase their skills and, like I said, the IPL has
04:25always thrown up a lot of talents and, which is really good for Indian cricket and talking
04:30about how you strategize against them, it's about watching them, learning about them and
04:35it takes time for every team to learn about new players but, again, that's where the advantage
04:40lies in a new player as well.
04:43Hi. Can you give an insight into the Heymang Badani-KP coaching partnership? How are they
04:49guiding batters throughout the season, especially with how the demands on batters are increasing
04:53every day in IPL?
04:55I think we have an amazing coaching setup which is very clear in what they want and they kind
05:03of set out roles for everyone and we as players, you know, as soon as you know what the coach
05:09is or what the team wants from you, it's really easy for you to go out there and, you know,
05:14execute that and also they give you a lot of freedom to go out there and express yourself
05:18and play with a lot of freedom or intent and the way the game is going now is that you
05:24go out there and, you know, you're not worried about losing your own wicket but you're more
05:30focused on how I can, you know, improve the situation for the team in terms of as a batsman
05:35scoring a lot of runs quickly.
05:36So, again, they've been really clear with everyone. We have a clear marked out roles
05:42for everyone and which is really nice and we have an amazing setup that is helping us and
05:48so far it's been a very positive environment and something that we as a team have enjoyed
05:53really, really well so far.
05:56Karun, you scored a half century in the early part of the tournament and then the form is
06:01sort of, you know, a little up and down. How do you assess your personal form, batting form
06:06so far?
06:07I think I'm still batting well. It's about, again, converting those 20 runs to bigger scores.
06:14So, that's where, you know, you can change matches for your team and making sometimes those
06:2215 or 20 runs also is impactful sometimes and, again, as long as the team is winning,
06:28I'm really, you know, happy about how I am playing because I'm trying to do my best to
06:33help the team win. So, as long as I'm making those small impacts and which is helping the
06:39team win, I'm fine with that and talking about myself, I think I'm batting really well and
06:44really hoping to keep continuing on the same way.
