Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals by 100 runs in IPL 2025 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on May 1. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mumbai Indians started slow and Rohit Sharma survived a close LBW call. After that both Ryan Rickelton (61) and Rohit Sharma (53) picked up pace, hitting boundaries with ease and stitching a partnership of 116 runs. Rickelton and Rohit lost their wickets in consecutive overs to Maheesh Theekshana and Riyan Parag. But that didn't slow down Mumbai Indians' run rate as Hardik Pandya (48*) and Suryakumar Yadav (48*) carried on the momentum and with a big flourish ended at 217/2. Chasing it, last game's centurion Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed by Deepak Chahar for a duck. Rajasthan Royals suffered a collapse following it and got bowled out for only 117 runs. Trent Boult (3/28), Karn Sharma (3/23), Jasprit Bumrah (2/15), Hardik Pandya (1/2), Deepak Chahar (1/13) were the wicket takers. This is the sixth victory in a row for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 and eighth loss for Rajasthan Royals.
