Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on April 23. Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. Surisers Hyderabad got off to a very poor start as they collapsed early going down to 13/4 in the fifth over. Trent Boult (4/26) scalped the wickets of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma while Deepak Chahar (2/12) dismissed Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy. After a small partnership, Aniket Verma also departed with Sunrisers at 35/5. It is then Heinrich Klaasen (71) took control and alongside Abhinav Manohar (43) stitched a partnership of 99 runs. Jasprit Bumrah (1/39) finally broke the partnership in the penultimate over and Trent Boult scalped two more in the final over restricting Sunrisers to just a competitive 143/8. Chasing it, Rohit Sharma played a brilliant knock of 70 off 46 deliveries, carrying on his form. Supported by Suryakumar Yadav (40*) and Will Jacks (22), Mumbai Indians pulled off another victory. This is the fifth victory for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 and sixth loss for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
