00:00It took place at Alton Park in Cheshire and Charlie Cox was on duty there for us.
00:04At least he told us he'd be at Alton Park.
00:16Yes, this is the British Touring Car Championship, but not as we know it.
00:21The teams are getting in some much-needed last-minute practice before tomorrow's rounds at Alton Park.
00:25And I'll tell you what, pretty rough, tough, wheelbanging stuff out there, but no wonder.
00:30Just look who's managing the driving standards.
00:55We return to the Alton Park circuit in Cheshire for rounds 19 and 20 at the AA.com British Touring Car Championship.
01:23And the atmosphere is palpable as this series comes towards a conclusion.
01:28Very big crowd starting to fill this amphitheatre, if you like, section of the Alton Park circuit to watch our two gladiators lock horns.
01:35Francis of Van Muller and Great Britain's Jason Plato.
01:39All the other contenders in this series have now been eliminated.
01:42Pretty good place to watch this series as well, because they see them rocking on their suspension there down through the Cascades Corner really quick.
01:49And then the braking duel as the cars move down into Nickerbrook.
01:52The series is so tightly closed now that I think we're going to have to wait right until the end to see who gets the thumbs up and the thumbs down.
02:02And that's how close it is.
02:03Van Muller just three points ahead of Jason Plato.
02:08James Thompson in third position, but I guess with points like that, he's pretty much out of contention.
02:12Now, what are the differences between the two drivers?
02:18Well, you've got on the one hand, the mature and I would say almost cool Ivan Muller, who's shown great, great maturity, but also still got that fantastic car control.
02:28On the other hand, you've got Jason Plato, who really, I think, is desperate to win a championship, and he sees this year as being his best possibility.
02:34But one thing Jason's got to watch out for is getting involved in incidents like we saw at the nighttime race at Snederton, unnecessarily getting involved with another car and suffering a penalty.
02:46Jason's got great speed, again, great car control, but it's going to come down to control in these eight races as well as speed.
02:54Alton Park in Cheshire, extremely challenging track, great drivers love it, fast, flowing, very hard on brakes.
03:06You know, it really is stressful, nerve-wracking, qualifying time.
03:11It's almost as stressful, to be honest with you, as just before the start of the race.
03:14And I tell you what, the state of this championship at the moment is not helping that at all, because it is so close at the top.
03:20And there are so few racers left, that any advantage that either of these drivers, Muller and Plato in particular, get now, can be decisive towards the outcome of the series.
03:35I want to win more than anything, and so does Avant.
03:38But I hope for all of us sakes, including James as well, that the championship isn't won through mechanical failure.
03:50To win a championship, you need a good girl, a good team, and a bit of luck as well.
04:02Now a real cat amongst the pigeons this weekend.
04:22Andy Frio standing in for Phil Bennett.
04:25Bring back Phil.
04:26Well, Phil was banned for one race after the last outing.
04:29He's not here for the entire weekend, and Frio is hot.
04:32A dream come true, you know, first the opportunity, and then this.
04:36You know, my expectations were just to do a good job with the team, and to drive the car as fast as I could drive it.
04:41And the car's just beautiful.
04:43I mean, Triple Eight and Vauxhall have done a good job in putting the car together.
04:46And it's a joy to drive the car.
04:49It does everything for you, and I was just making the best of my tyres, really.
04:54That's a much nicer looking car, Mr Edwards.
04:56Our stunt driver smashed his car to bits in winning the last production outing.
05:00Production star today, though, is this man.
05:05I think it was 1,000, so that's very, very close.
05:08It's not too much quicker now, but it's enough.
05:10It's two points, so it's good.
05:11Hello.
05:16Today I've got my civvies off and my favourite suit on.
05:20I've come to Alton Park to try out a Honda Accord in the Production Cup class of the Touring Car Championship.
05:26It's got a 230-horsepower two-litre in the front, and a steering wheel on the left-hand side.
05:35And I'm up against some of the finest young talent in Britain.
05:39Young, in the operative word.
05:40So let's see how we can get on against them.
05:43So through Deer's Leap to start a qualifying lap in my Honda Accord, Production Cup car.
05:53They say production, but it's still very much a race car.
05:56And here we approach about 118 miles an hour, down to fourth gear.
06:00I'm left-hand drive, so clipping that apex I've found difficult.
06:03Dropping only at about 80 miles an hour through Old Hall.
06:06Although it's a production car, it still has to be driven like a race car.
06:09Cascades, there's a nasty bump there, easy to lock the front brakes.
06:12Fourth gear getting qualifying, maybe third gear in a race.
06:15But it needs to be neat and tidy to get out onto the straight towards island hairpin.
06:19Again, it's a crested approach that's having braking.
06:21So difficult to find your braking points.
06:23And with servo assistance, I keep on locking up the front, which would be a problem.
06:27First gear, you're going to get down from fifth to first.
06:28Clip the curve there at the hairpin.
06:30Accelerate, give as neat as you can.
06:32Again, none of these sideways power sliding stuff.
06:34I might be having fun on top gear.
06:36This is serious.
06:37You need to keep it neat and tidy.
06:39Flying down at fifth gear, 120 miles an hour.
06:41Again, braking only at about 75 yards.
06:44This little chicken, about 50 miles an hour.
06:45You smash through right, left, over the grass.
06:48You shouldn't be doing that, but you have to in qualifying.
06:50Jamming into third gear as we approach up Clay Hill.
06:53Under the bridge, look for the big tree that takes the line up to approach Druids.
06:57Fifth gear, again, up to about 115 miles an hour.
07:00Crucial corner Druids, double apex.
07:02Drop it to fourth gear.
07:03Try and keep it neat and tidy.
07:05I wanted a bit more oversteer here.
07:06I had too much understeer drifting out.
07:08Finishing the corner at about 80, 90 miles an hour.
07:11Then back up to about 115.
07:13Fifth gear again for this final corner.
07:15Lodge, brake as late as you dare.
07:16Don't lock those fronts.
07:17Turn in neat and tidy.
07:18Second gear.
07:19And again, not drift out too wide before you can back over.
07:22Deer's link.
07:23Third gear.
07:23Fourth gear.
07:24Look down at your telemetry and, oh, I'm only one minute 3.0 and I'm half a second slower than the best Honda.
07:30I want to do better.
07:31I have to speak to my engineers before the race.
07:33I need a bit more oversteer.
07:35I can go faster.
07:36You know, the word sensation can't do justice to the performance of this guy, Andy Friot,
07:50who's jumped in to fill the seat left vacant by Phil Bennett while he serves out his race ban.
07:55Now, the Formula 3 man has only stuck it on pole position.
07:58I know I mentioned earlier that I thought he might be a force to be reckoned with.
08:01Maybe somebody will split the field.
08:03But actually, pole position by more than two-tenths of a second.
08:07Now, fair enough.
08:07He's not carrying the weight ballast of Ivan Muller here or, say, Jason Plato.
08:11But nevertheless, stunning performance.
08:13Not a bad performance by Mr. Steve Soper as well.
08:16Next row back, we've got Tim Harvey in the Alpha.
08:18Dan Eves, Steve Soper's teammate.
08:20Now, Mark Blair making a welcome return to touring cars.
08:23He's joined the Alpha team alongside Tim Harvey.
08:26Back in the production ranks, and there's more good news for Simon Harrison.
08:32What a break he needs.
08:33He's just behind Kay in the championship.
08:36Now, James Kay's had to change an engine.
08:38Nightmare for him.
08:38He starts off the back of the grid.
08:40Simon is only four points adrift of him in the championship on the front row next to his teammate, Roger Moen.
08:45He couldn't be happier with that.
08:47Just a reminder, this is the sprint race.
08:49These guys start 35 seconds after the tourers.
08:52And, of course, the touring cars have to do one extra lap.
08:58So they are, in effect, having to unlap themselves to see if they can claw their way all the way through the field to the front.
09:04James Thompson is starting off the back of the touring car grid.
09:07No time, because he had an engine change after qualifying.
09:10Second row of the grid there.
09:11Piper and Jackson.
09:12Good qualifier once again from Gavin Piper, O'Neill, and Nidale as well.
09:16Then Hal Edwards, Allen, and Colin Blair.
09:19Then it's Mines, Tom Boardman, Beaumont, Templeton.
09:23Then there you see James Kay, no time, and Kramer, no time as well.
09:27Back of the grid.
09:28Front of the grid.
09:29There's Ivan Muller, ready for the start.
09:32Next row back, Jason Plato.
09:34The eyes of him getting ready as well.
09:37And there's your pole man.
09:38Dream pole man, Andy Prio.
09:40Lights red, ready for a start.
09:41They're off.
09:42Good start for Muller.
09:43Not such a good start there for Andy Prio.
09:45Side by side there, all the way cleanly.
09:48Soper on the right.
09:49Looks like Ivan Muller's got the jump, though, as they come into the first corner.
09:52Yes, he has.
09:54Right behind him is Andy Prio.
09:56Muller running with him as well.
09:57There is Steve Soper.
09:59Whole bunch of them.
10:00Everybody away cleanly.
10:01Now, down through the Cascades for the first time.
10:04Great start there for Ivan Muller.
10:06Prio moving to cover.
10:07And Steve Soper up into third.
10:09Strong drive from Soper.
10:10Even though we are only three corners.
10:12But for Andy Prio, that was, well, let's call it pole position setters.
10:16First time nerves.
10:17Too much wheel spin.
10:19Yeah, just a bit too much enthusiasm.
10:21The production cars, meantime, have set off as well.
10:24They lead the charge now.
10:25Trying to stay ahead of this pack.
10:28Over the crest of the hill.
10:29Down towards Nick Abrux, who came for the first time.
10:31Andy Prio.
10:32Who's to the left.
10:34I don't know whether he's having a look down the inside of Muller.
10:36Actually defending from Soper behind.
10:38But Muller is very clearly through there.
10:40Nick Abrux.
10:41Now, Steve Soper really on a charge.
10:43They're bringing Prio under all sorts of pressure.
10:45And a really handy gap already there for Ivan Muller.
10:48Dream start for Muller.
10:49He wanted to get ahead of Andy Prio.
10:50Remember, Prio is running 60 kilograms lighter than Muller.
10:54So any opportunity to get ahead, you've got to take.
10:57Yep, Andy's got a bit of a gap already.
10:59But Andy Prio really making the most of this opportunity as well.
11:03Once again, fainting down the inside.
11:05Not looking to pass Muller.
11:06And definitely saying to Steve Soper,
11:08don't even think about passing me, Sunshine.
11:10Up and over the strike for the first time.
11:12So it's Muller, Prio and Soper.
11:16Stacey Prio very much in touch there as well.
11:18Now, Dan Eves, here's an interesting view from him
11:21looking down across the top of his car
11:22through Old Hall Corner
11:24and very wide through Old Hall Corner
11:26like grass skiing.
11:28Well, he made a great apex in the middle of Old Hall
11:30but got it all wrong in the exit.
11:31And cost him a place as well.
11:33James Thompson just worming his way straight past.
11:36Sees the opportunity straight away
11:37to move his way up through the field.
11:39Now, here's the view from Jason Plater.
11:41That's Steve Soper ahead of us.
11:42This is the battle for third.
11:43We're coming down to the hairpin.
11:44We've got to turn right.
11:46Oh, that's close.
11:47He just can't find a way through.
11:49And Soper actually released the brake pedal
11:51to prevent Plato from trying to go around the outside
11:54to keep that position.
11:55Now, here's the start of the production race
11:57and there are two teammates at play.
11:59Harrison and Roger Moen tagging each other
12:01going down through Cascades.
12:03Roger Moen just hanging on to the lead, I think.
12:06Moen on the left.
12:07Harrison on the right.
12:07Flinches out of the way
12:08after having tapped his teammate to corner a go.
12:11Now, they're all going to work their way
12:13around this hairpin.
12:16And they do.
12:18Here's what happens coming down from Cascades.
12:21The tap on the back from Harrison on Mayan.
12:24Now, Moen should have lost that car,
12:26but he just floors the throttle,
12:28which he do on front-wheel drive.
12:29The car straightens itself out.
12:31He retains the advantage.
12:32But what a scary moment for Moen.
12:34Yeah, great save, though.
12:35Brilliant stuff.
12:36Moen in the slips catches it.
12:38Nice work.
12:39Now, here's Steve Soper,
12:40and he's getting some real big pressure now
12:42from Jason Plato.
12:44And as you can see, just in the distance there,
12:46Prio and Muller have started to pull away.
12:48There's Muller, there's Prio.
12:49There's the gap back now to Steve Soper.
12:51Still this Peugeot on a real charge.
12:54And Jason Plato with tons to do.
12:55And a lot of very good work done by the Peugeot team.
12:58Between races have got a lot more power
13:00for Steve Soper here today.
13:02Plato's struggling under horsepower.
13:04To get past the Peugeot.
13:05Nice big white Peugeot it is, too,
13:07coming down into that hairpin.
13:08No room for Plato to slither past.
13:11Neither is there room yet for James Thompson.
13:13Stingy's head up off the ground as well.
13:15Gavin Piper, P3 in production.
13:18Nidale down the inside of Jackson.
13:21Up and over the crest.
13:24Those Ford Focus is running very, very closely together,
13:27and we just saw James Kay as well
13:28starting to move up through the field.
13:30So it's Moen, Harris, and Piper
13:31because, of course, at this stage at least,
13:32the production cars are leading.
13:34The touring cars have to un-lap themselves.
13:36Here are the touring cars.
13:38Muller, Frio, and now Steve Soper
13:40really getting a workout from Plato.
13:42And James Thompson obviously thinking,
13:44maybe there's something I can do here.
13:46Well, Thompson's just got to sit back and watch.
13:48Plato and Soper, they're going to be involved
13:50in a massive tussle as they come into a hole.
13:52He could be the beneficiary.
13:54Looks like he's shaping up here, Waddy.
13:57Down the inside is Plato.
13:58Yep, he's through now.
13:59Soper tries to cut back and fight back.
14:01Can't quite do it.
14:02James Thompson hanging onto it.
14:04Soper has another look over the crest.
14:05Cascades.
14:06Soper fights back.
14:07Soper down the outside.
14:09Round just cannot make it stick.
14:12Plato with it.
14:12Good stuff.
14:13Well, if you want to know what squirt's all about,
14:15the pairs you're headed,
14:16it just used that horsepower to draw alongside Plato,
14:18but Plato at track position.
14:20Yeah, James Thompson hasn't got the squirt
14:22to do the same thing.
14:23He's trying to get around the outside the long way.
14:25A drag down the back straight to Soper.
14:27Couldn't quite get past.
14:28Soper has held the position.
14:30Now holds a defensive line up and over the crest of the hill.
14:33On board now with Nadell in the Honda,
14:35and he is pressuring Gavin Piper.
14:36This is P3 in production.
14:38Piper gets it all sideways through Druids there.
14:41Loose as a goose.
14:42I mean, he has that car balanced on such a fine thread.
14:46How he stays on track.
14:47Well, it's amazing.
14:48Well, he doesn't always, does he?
14:52Well, I think Tiff went a little bit ambitious there.
14:55And I think the engine went stratospheric with RPM.
14:59Right, a pound for me, Tiff.
15:00OK, now he's got lots of defending to do
15:02because he has got Jackson and Howell
15:04and those two yellow focuses all over him.
15:06Jackson's down the inside, side by side.
15:09Nadell's going to run wide.
15:10Yes, he is indeed.
15:12Now on board with Jackson.
15:14He's got through.
15:14He's got the pass stuck.
15:16He must have Nadell behind him
15:18and his teammate will be around here somewhere as well.
15:21Down two cascades.
15:22That's the tight line and a half.
15:23And certainly two wheels actually off the racetrack.
15:26Now he's pointing at the mirror.
15:27I think that's at his teammate Howell.
15:29But what the message is, we do know.
15:30Well, Howell's got through.
15:32Jackson on the right, Howell on the left.
15:34Hairpin coming up.
15:35Teammates at play.
15:36Jackson's clipped him on the way back around.
15:39They're like a pair of naughty kids in the back of the car.
15:41Behave, boys, behave.
15:42But in that little maneuver,
15:43he's lost the front spoiler on his Ford Focus.
15:46That will hurt the front tires in the remaining part of this race.
15:49Well, James Thompson trying to take the side panels off Steve.
15:52So does Peugeot as well.
15:53Side by side, up and over dearly.
15:55Peugeot still hanging on.
15:57Vauxhall pushing back.
15:59And still super in a straight line,
16:01can pull away from any Vauxhall I've seen here this afternoon.
16:05Through Old Hall.
16:07Running a bit wide, but they can get a bit of traction there.
16:09There's something hard just under the grass there.
16:11Allowing them to run past the outside of the rumble strip
16:14and still maintain speed.
16:16Now down through Cascades.
16:17Just rocking on the suspension there.
16:20Now let's have a look at the squirt down the back straight.
16:22Thompson down the inside.
16:24Super moves to cover.
16:25Only just in time.
16:26Is it in time?
16:27He's been forced to duck back.
16:29That just might be what Thompson wants.
16:31Thompson runs too deep under brakes.
16:33Blocks.
16:34It's a big old Vauxhall and he just can't get around it.
16:36And that was a tough pass for Thompson.
16:38He had to leave his braking to the last minute,
16:39but he got the position
16:40and then could force Super out to the left of the track.
16:44Well, there's the lead.
16:44Mo and Harrison and Piper.
16:46And there is the front of that Ford Focus.
16:48Looks like you've got his teeth out.
16:50Jackson dropping more bits of focus detritus all over the place
16:53and now taking to the grass.
16:55I suppose he's got a front down force excuse maybe.
16:57That's a very agricultural.
16:58And he's come back on.
17:00Can he actually still stay in front of his teammate?
17:02No.
17:03Throwing body panels.
17:04And he won't do the trick, mate.
17:05You've got to stay on the track.
17:06I don't think Matt Jackson realizes how much of the bodywork is missing.
17:09If he did, he probably wouldn't be running as quickly as he is.
17:12It's a very exciting line he's taking.
17:13I'm going to give him a map of the circuit for race two,
17:16but it's great to watch nonetheless.
17:17As we watch everybody now streaming down.
17:19There's James Thompson, sofa behind.
17:22Now there's Dan Eves putting Tim Harvey under some pressure.
17:25Harvey in that black alpha.
17:26Eves in the green Peugeot.
17:27Down through Nickenburg.
17:30Alphas getting stronger race by race.
17:33And a great sight to see these two Alphas running.
17:35Both are running reliably.
17:37We've been in a long time.
17:38Once they get the engine sorted out, they can work in the chassis.
17:41And this car potentially is a winner as well.
17:47Double A picked right-handed.
17:48Druettes onto the back straight now.
17:51Very important to carry speed through there.
17:53Yes, it is because you're coming into a large corner.
17:55That's one of the overtaking parts of the circuit.
17:58You stay on the left like Harvey.
17:59Anybody can dive down the inside.
18:01So you've got to have enough exit speed to make sure you're safe.
18:04And I reckon that Eves bloke might be thinking about a bit of an overtake himself.
18:08Just not quite close enough.
18:09Ah, Paul O'Neill.
18:11And that's quite a big off by the look of it.
18:14Yeah, you can see the damage to the front of his Peugeot.
18:16That's old, old corner.
18:18O'Neill's got into the tyre barrier pretty heavily indeed.
18:20He's okay, out of the car.
18:22And get behind that tyre barrier.
18:23Paul's saying, well, I don't know what went wrong.
18:25I think he lost his brakes.
18:26That's what went wrong.
18:27Yep, well, main thing is, as you say, he's in one piece.
18:30Good to see.
18:31Now, Ivan Muller just sliding past Harrison.
18:35Muller in the touring car.
18:36Harrison in the production car.
18:38Muller's leading his class.
18:39And that makes him P2 outright.
18:41Because only Roger Moen is ahead of him.
18:43Andy Prio still having a brilliant race as well.
18:46He's right up past him.
18:47There's the proof.
18:48Moen, Muller, Harrison, Prio.
18:49He's driving very well, Prio.
18:50It's his first race in the touring car.
18:52He had a dodgy start, but he's got back strong.
18:55Problems, look.
18:57Oh, what a shame.
18:58Steve Super has really driven very well in the sprint race.
19:01That's hope it's not too serious.
19:03Yep, bit of a fairy tale over there.
19:04It was running so well.
19:06Now, Ivan Muller, meantime, is now about to take the lead of this race outright.
19:09Absolutely slights past Roger Moen.
19:11There you are, a pair of leaders in their class.
19:14Muller in touring.
19:15Moen in production.
19:16And right behind him is Andy Prio.
19:18There's a look there from Muller.
19:22Oh, it's so easy.
19:23Yeah, I mean, he's just driving around.
19:25Not sliding the car, not curving the car.
19:28Just take it easy, in control.
19:30And he knows that Andy Prio's not going to do anything too stupid right now.
19:33But he's right in touch with him.
19:34Stunning stuff.
19:35Yes, he's dropped back.
19:36I think Muller has just dropped off in his last couple of laps.
19:39He doesn't need to do any more.
19:44And the scream tells the story.
19:49First blood today for Ivan Muller.
19:52Points he valuably needs.
19:54Andy Prio, great drive there.
19:56Half a second behind in second.
19:57Jason Plato, he still banked something in P3.
20:01Now, Simon Harrison, that's important.
20:02Second in his class.
20:03But Roger Moen, who's closing on him all the time, wins the race.
20:07Important for him.
20:07Because Andy's coming second, it's vastly improved your championship standard.
20:12Yeah, sure.
20:13That gave me a bit bigger gap on Jason.
20:16So, no, fine.
20:18Everything perfect.
20:20It's your first place.
20:23Everybody out here.
20:27Another win.
20:28Yeah, that's fantastic.
20:29The win here when he was here in May, and that win was taken from me.
20:33So, to take it back this time was fantastic.
20:35But I must take the team for a fantastic car.
20:37It was great to drive.
20:37I've got a good start, but Steve's got no weight on, and that's how it is, unfortunately.
20:44You know, that just proves that there ain't no team models in this championship.
20:49Whether or not I'm happy about it is another situation.
20:52I'm not unhappy, to be honest, because Andy's doing the best job for Egg, and that's how it is.
20:56But, of course, you know, he doesn't, he's not, he's not in the championship, and maybe that might affect things.
21:01But I'm determined to, next race, we're going to win that one.
21:07Thanks for embarrassing me, everybody.
21:09Is it 100 years of age, or 100 BTC races?
21:14Well, as we foreshadowed, Andy Prio turned out to be a decisive factor in race one, splitting
21:24Ivan Muller and Jason Plato, and in the process, of course, splitting their points all.
21:28Well, he's only done it again.
21:29Prio, pole position, with an astonishing margin of four-tenths of a second.
21:34But this time around, as well, the roles are changed, because Jason Plato shares the
21:38front row of the grid, and Ivan Muller is on row two.
21:41Now, you remember, in race one, Ivan got the jump, got into the lead in the first corner,
21:45the rest was history.
21:46Well, it's Jason Plato's turn this time.
21:48It should be a titanic battle.
21:50Now, one guy who's seen his share of titanic battles, and is in an ideal position to see
21:54all of this, is Steve Soper.
21:56Steve Soper, second row of the grid, but also celebrating his 100th touring car start with
22:01this race.
22:02Mate, you must be tired of all of this.
22:03Well, it's, yeah, it seems to.
22:04I mean, unfortunately, someone else does all this counting, because I wouldn't know if I'd
22:07done 20 or 30 or whatever, but I suppose it's quite nice when they let them all go up in
22:12the sky, as long as one doesn't get shoved in the front of the car and make it overheat
22:15or something.
22:16You still get a little bit of an adrenaline buzz, you must.
22:18Oh, yeah, sure.
22:19Once the lights are on red, and, yeah, I get the buzz.
22:23I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't.
22:24I still enjoy it.
22:25It's getting better, too, second row.
22:27Second row, yeah.
22:27Let's see.
22:28Let's hope that it can maybe be second place or third place on the podium would be good
22:32here.
22:33Longer race.
22:34Yeah, Silverstone-Dornington suit is better.
22:36Good.
22:37Great to be watching you.
22:37Cheers.
22:38Good luck, Steve.
22:39Okay, so just a reminder, this is the feature race.
22:41It is twice as long as the sprint race, and this circuit is murder on brakes.
22:46That could play a part as we move into the latter stages of the race.
22:49And remember that, because the guys carrying least success ballast should be in best shape
22:53by then.
22:56There's confirmation, there's your grid, and there's a man carrying no success ballast.
23:00Andy Prio, what a great bit of qualifying, though.
23:03Super qualifying, but let me put this into perspective.
23:06The advantage that Prio has is, if you imagine Andy's wife, Jew, and the newborn baby being
23:11in the car alongside Andy, that would make his car the same weight as that of Muller and
23:16Plato.
23:16He doesn't have his wife and kid on board today.
23:19He's got a huge advantage.
23:20She can give him some advice, though.
23:22But this will have another advantage as well, because this is a rolling start.
23:25He had a little bit of difficulty getting the front wheel drive off the line in race one.
23:29This is a rolling start.
23:30Safety car has pulled off, so we're ready for that start.
23:33Field forming up.
23:34Prio on the right.
23:35Across the line, they're off and racing.
23:39Prio, Plato, right behind them.
23:42Ivan Muller into the first corner, side by side.
23:44Prio's got it.
23:45Yes, he's in the lead.
23:46Very, very sideways there.
23:49Muller and Plato just hopping and skipping over the curbs.
23:52Just ahead of us, Steve Soper.
23:54Down Cascades for the first time.
23:55This is a Thompson's eye view.
23:57Got a hook left now.
23:58Is there room for us around the outside?
23:59No, there's not in the toe.
24:01Yes, that is what a Peugeot looks like up very close indeed.
24:05That is a very fine cut from James Thompson, but he's on the wrong side of the track to
24:09get past Soper into the right hand.
24:11Up and bend.
24:12So it's Prio, then Plato, then Muller.
24:14Soper and Thompson almost side by side.
24:18Harvey and Tommy Erdos side by side as well in the Lexus and in the Alfa respectively.
24:23Prio moves to the left.
24:24Down the hill.
24:25There is Harvey.
24:25There's Erdos.
24:26Down in.
24:27Well, at least they're both black.
24:30In case they lose any paint, but Harvey is through.
24:33Tough stuff.
24:34Yes, well placed by Harvey.
24:36He had the advantage.
24:36Erdos recognize it.
24:38On your first lap, don't be a hero.
24:40Thought they might be swapping paint there for a minute, but no, it was as close as you
24:43like.
24:43And gave each other room.
24:45Great to watch.
24:46Up Clay Hill streaking along the back of the circuit in through Druids now.
24:50Look at them just launching into that corner.
24:52So, so quick.
24:53Streaming around there.
24:55Here's that back straight.
24:56Down to it.
24:57Now Prio ducks to the left there.
24:58He's defending into Lodge Corner.
24:59Puff of smoke there from Muller.
25:01He's trying.
25:01Is he what?
25:03Just can't find position.
25:04Everyone stays in the race order.
25:06Up across the strike for the first time.
25:08Andy Prio is leading this race.
25:09Of course, the rolling start much easier for Prio.
25:12But watch Muller in third place.
25:14He's leading the championship right now.
25:16He doesn't want Plato to claw back too many more points.
25:19Okay, Plato to the right.
25:22Muller stuck to the left.
25:23Muller's on the grass.
25:24Muller's off.
25:25Sliding down the inside.
25:26The field is streaming down through Cascades now.
25:28It's got to be closed.
25:29Well, that was James Thompson just missing a barn Muller.
25:32What an off.
25:35Well, that was scary.
25:37Let's see again what happened.
25:39Plato gets a good run off.
25:41Old Hull gets alongside Prio.
25:42Muller thinks he can go the long way around.
25:44But once on the grass, it is history.
25:47The car spins.
25:48Look at that tufts of grass and mud everywhere.
25:51Back across the track.
25:52Somewhere, James Thompson got through.
25:54How he missed him.
25:55I don't know.
25:56I don't think even Muller knew where he was.
25:57Okay, this is finished for me.
26:03Thank you, Mr. Prio.
26:06Well, he's not happy.
26:09There's the safety car out.
26:10The board telling us that because Ivan Muller's car obviously is in a precarious position.
26:15Now, you mentioned James Thompson.
26:16Here's the Thompson's eye view.
26:18There's Muller down the left.
26:20Now, any minute now, he's going to cut right across in front of us.
26:24And remember, this is a very wide-angle shot there.
26:27Look at that, Muller.
26:28I mean, there couldn't have been more than a foot between the cars.
26:31That camera makes it look greater than it was.
26:33I reckon James Thompson ought to buy a lottery ticket on the way home.
26:37Anyway, safety car off.
26:38Race restarts.
26:41Plato in the lead now.
26:42Prio in second place.
26:43And Steve Soper up into three.
26:45In the middle of all of that, of course, Prio might have been leading before all that started.
26:51But Jason Plato did pick up the spot.
26:53So now he's P1.
26:54Prio's got it all to do.
26:56And I guess he'll have to regroup, rethink.
26:57That must have been quite a focusing moment for him, too, as well.
27:01Because he'd have seen Ivan Muller sliding down alongside him.
27:04Down the back straight now.
27:05Plato already developing a little bit of a handy lead.
27:08Prio behind.
27:09James Thompson starting to pressure Steve Soper in P3.
27:12There's our race leader.
27:14He must be a pretty pleased fellow now.
27:16Yes, he's going to be pretty happy.
27:17That was a bit of a gift for him.
27:19He made it happen.
27:20But remember, everybody's tires have lost temperature.
27:23That's where the experience of Plato is going to play over the advantage of Prio.
27:26Talk about experience.
27:27Look at Soper on the right there in the Peugeot.
27:30Really giving Prio a workout.
27:31Trying to find a way past him as they went down the hill and into Nickerbrook's chicane.
27:35Just couldn't quite do it.
27:37This Peugeot is on fire.
27:38And Steve Soper in his 100th touring car race.
27:42He's also out there to prove a point.
27:44He may be old, but he ain't given up.
27:47And neither am I.
27:48Streaking through Druids now.
27:49The double apex right-hander standing on the gas.
27:52Plato just easing out a bit of a gap.
27:55Prio has got to think all the time about what to do with Soper.
27:58You see him just fainting there to the left.
27:59That's costing him time.
28:01It's also giving him an unideal line on the exit of Lounge.
28:04James Thompson, he's working out.
28:05Where can I take my chances and get past two cars in one pass?
28:09Here's a bloke that would like to take some chances as well.
28:11Roger Moen, he's desperate to get past his teammate Harrison.
28:14Notice a little flash of the brake lights there.
28:17Simon Harrison testing.
28:18He's got some.
28:18Oh, big slip and slide by Moen down the inside of Harrison.
28:22Harrison wandering under brakes and waxing on the way through.
28:25I reckon that's one all.
28:26Well, we also know that Peugeot are a little bit marginal on brakes here with the 306s.
28:31But this team has worked very hard indeed to get good brakes that will last for the entire race.
28:36But Moen uses them to the limit.
28:38Bang!
28:39Into Harrison's door.
28:40They aren't marginal brakes, mate.
28:41He's got two Peugeots to help him stop.
28:43His own set of brakes and Harrison's as well.
28:45Nice bit of impact.
28:46Pushes Harrison's ride.
28:48Very rap and tumble stuff.
28:49They'll probably be chatting about that later on in the pits.
28:51I reckon this bloke will be chatting later on in the pits as well.
28:54Steve Soper.
28:55Did you see my Peugeot flying?
28:56Great stuff.
28:57Andy Prio will be very pleased with himself as well.
29:00I was talking to him before the race.
29:01He said, this is the dream of a lifetime for me to get in a touring car like this and then whack it on pole twice.
29:07He's noticed.
29:08He's seen.
29:09And, of course, the team must be delighted as well.
29:11A young kid, keen as mustard, puts the car on pole position for two races.
29:15What is Phil Bennett thinking?
29:17He must be watching this at home and wondering.
29:18I don't believe it.
29:19It's my worst nightmare.
29:21Yeah, Steve Soper, the bloke that he was tangled up with,
29:23that got him the penalty's doing well as well.
29:25Never mind.
29:26Here's the man leading production.
29:27Roger Moen.
29:28In second place there, right behind Harrison.
29:31And then Gavin Piper.
29:33Pretty much in touch still in that Alfa in third place.
29:37Jackson trying to catch them up the hill in the yellow Ford Focus.
29:42Dan Eve's having a bit of a lonely race, but making a pit stop, so might as well use it.
29:46Yes, might as well take track position.
29:48Oh, Dan, slow down.
29:50There'll be a penalty for exceeding the speed limit.
29:52Maybe the cameraman was looking the other way.
29:54It could be your lucky day.
29:56So let's see the Peugeot team go to work.
29:58Front feet of course only here.
30:00Six, 6.4 seconds.
30:01Great job, guys.
30:03That's fun for you, Dan.
30:05Yeah, that's excellent stuff.
30:06Let's hope he can build on it.
30:08Now, James Thompson and Steve Soper are continuing this ding-dong battle.
30:12It's been raced long so far.
30:14Thompson just can't find a way around.
30:16Jimmy, you want to pit now, mate?
30:18Pit this lap.
30:19Yeah, I can't believe it's laying oil down in front of me.
30:22Okay, pit now, Jimmy, pit now.
30:25And we saw that as the Peugeot came up the hill.
30:27Not much fun for anybody following him, particularly Thompson.
30:31Okay, Gavin Piper.
30:35This is the battle for second place in production, and that's very close.
30:38In fact, that's as close as anyone's got to the back of these Peugeots all weekend.
30:42Gavin Piper right on the tail of Harrison.
30:44Plenty of squirt from the Peugeot as it comes out of the hairpin and back up the hill.
30:48Meantime, Soper and Thompson still at it.
30:51Thompson in.
30:52James Thompson also deciding that, well, I can't beat him on the racetrack.
30:55I let my team beat him in the pit lane.
30:58Thompson comes in, stops right on the blocks.
31:02Car goes up.
31:05Let's see, 6.4 seconds was the time for Dan Eves.
31:09James Thompson, 6.9.3 seconds.
31:12That's almost three seconds slower than Peugeot,
31:14and that is not going to be something he'll be happy about.
31:17Speaking of Peugeot as well, we just caught a glimpse of Tom Bortman's production.
31:20Peugeot 306 up on blocks in the pit lane.
31:23That wasn't supposed to be, they're not part of the plan.
31:26Steve Soper, meantime, still cruising around in third place.
31:29You can just see ahead of him.
31:31There they are, Plato, Prio, and Soper still in touch.
31:35Yes, but just watch from the back of that car on certain parts of the track.
31:39You'll see that little wisp of black smoke.
31:41I don't know whether it's oil or hydraulic fluid,
31:44but Soper's decided to come into the pit stop.
31:46I'm assuming this is a regular pit stop for tyres.
31:48Well, let's hope so.
31:52We don't want problems for him, not when he's having his 100th race.
31:58Oh, the team are going to go to work.
32:02They're going to beat 6.4.
32:03That was the time for Dan Eves.
32:046.2.
32:06What a celebration on your 100th race.
32:08Yeah, these Peugeot boys are red hot in the pits today.
32:11Oh, no, talk about red hot.
32:14Those fireworks out of the back of Andy Prio's car mean that this particular party is over.
32:19I don't know what's going on there, but it's a huge oil leak, obviously.
32:21Something like that or an engine gone.
32:23That is something.
32:24We'll see him go straight into the pits.
32:26That amount of fluid coming out onto the exhaust pipe is on the racetrack.
32:30It'll be covering the entire underneath of the car.
32:33He even slows down.
32:34He goes through the process of doing a pit stop and gets all over.
32:37So, well, it is a dream over.
32:39He was running in second position as he did in race one.
32:42And remember, he led this race for a bit as well.
32:45Cars up on jacks, as you say, just as a precaution.
32:47But that looks terminal.
32:49Yeah, the guys now have got to dive onto the car.
32:51They'll see very quickly.
32:52There'll be oil dripping off every suspension part of the exhaust system.
32:56That's probably where the smoke was coming from.
32:58And that's it.
33:01Okay, now we're on board with Tim Harvey.
33:03And that was Tommy Erdos in the Lexus just leaping through his win over the top of Clay Hill there.
33:08And you can actually almost see oil on the track there as well.
33:11Probably from Andy Prio on the way around.
33:12Be very, very slippery because this is the back end of the lap.
33:15Indeed, I think that Harvick fell on the oil.
33:18Oh, look at that.
33:18Look at that.
33:19You can fry egg and chips in that.
33:20Look, that's just trying to clean it up out of the pit lane because they've got more voxels yet to pit.
33:25But can you imagine the amount of oil that might be around the circuit?
33:29There's a Torrey Canyonsworth in the pit lane.
33:35Jason Plano's got to brave it now.
33:37Straight across that oil line, which you can see running into the pit lane, into his.
33:41Fortunately, he's at the far end of the pit, so any that's on the rear tires there, not going to be changed.
33:46Should have been taken off.
33:49Brand new tires go in the front.
33:51We're going to see what they can do for Plato.
33:53Still on 9.2.
33:54Neither box or pit stop we've seen this afternoon has been particularly good.
33:58Tommy Erdos in the Lexus.
33:59Now, here's the turn-up for the box.
34:01Tommy Erdos in the Lexus is now leading.
34:03He's yet to pit.
34:04But this is the first time that Lexus has ever led a lap of the British Touring Car Championship
34:09as we see Jason Plato come out behind Steve Soper.
34:12Remember, Soper's pitted.
34:14Plato's pitted.
34:15The significance of that is that when all of the pit stops are run through,
34:18at the moment at least, it's Soper, Plato and Thompson.
34:21They've all pitted.
34:22That's the order.
34:22Look at that.
34:23Thompson now climbing all over the back of Jason Plato.
34:26Thompson's been out a couple of laps.
34:27Plato's fresh out of the pits.
34:29Thompson challenging.
34:31What can he do?
34:31Cuts to the inside round the hairpin, up over the crest of the hill.
34:35Plato's moving him across.
34:37Plato cuts right across in front of us.
34:38Now we're down the left-hand side.
34:40Coming down towards Nickerbrook.
34:42Plato, where is he?
34:43Now he's moving back again.
34:44Really defensive.
34:46I didn't like that move that Plato made of Thompson.
34:48It was a little bit unfair.
34:49But, of course, he is on those cool towers.
34:51He's got to take his chances, otherwise Thompson will be through.
34:54And he will really, really struggle to get back ahead of Thompson.
34:57Well, he's got his work cut out.
34:58There's Sopa, Plato Thompson.
35:02Thompson's still on the hunt.
35:05Thompson's eye view.
35:07Plato ahead of us.
35:08Druids.
35:09And just look at the back of the box.
35:11Plato's car getting, oh, airy scary at the rear.
35:14Now he's moving again to cover.
35:15Nice defensive line.
35:16Down into Lodge's corner.
35:18James Thompson's got a clock ticking.
35:21He's got hotter tires than Jason Plato, but it ain't going to last.
35:24Now he's moving down the inside across the start-finish line.
35:27Plato is right across as well to cover.
35:29Right over towards the pit wall.
35:30They're back again.
35:31Thompson weaves.
35:32Time to duck down the inside.
35:33Plato's got it covered.
35:34He's busy.
35:35I'll tell you what, Plato is taking no prisoners to stab him in whatsoever.
35:39He sees an opportunity to capitalise on Belou's retirement.
35:44Well, James Thompson is driving twice the distance as Jason Plato is around this track,
35:47just trying to find a way past.
35:49A slalom run from James all the way down the back.
35:52Ducks to the left, ducks to the right.
35:54He's in the toe at the moment.
35:55Coming down to this hairpin.
35:56We've got to hook a big right now.
35:58Now runs deep.
35:59Plato locks up a rear.
36:00Thompson's carried a lot of speed in there.
36:02Almost maybe a little bit too much.
36:04Nose to tail, up over the hill.
36:07And I think Plato pretty comfortable.
36:09Now on board with Harvey.
36:10What can he do?
36:11Because Tommy Erdos, remember, got ahead of him.
36:13They pit together.
36:14A race in the pits.
36:14This will be great to watch.
36:16So race leader in second place.
36:17Come in at the same time.
36:19Hey, boys, let's have a really good one.
36:20We get him out front of the Lexus.
36:22Come on, let's get us together, right?
36:23Come on, up, up.
36:25Well, after all that good work from Tommy Erdos,
36:28it's all gone wrong.
36:29The air connection.
36:30Look, he can't get the car to rise up on his jacks.
36:34That's an absolute nightmare for Tommy Erdos.
36:38Jason Plato is now actually just a little bit comfortably ahead of James Thompson.
36:45This saga meantime continues.
36:47But look also, Tim Harvey, 24.5.
36:50For Harvey, 25.2.
36:51So it's even Stevens.
36:53These two cars, they were leading.
36:55They've lost all chance of victory now.
36:57They must have stopped for a game of chess in the pit lane.
36:59The most significant thing, though, is that Harvey, of course,
37:02has emerged just by a car length in front of Tommy Erdos.
37:06And that's Steve Soper.
37:08Steve Soper, the man who was leading this race.
37:12Smoke pouring out of the back of it.
37:14Remember, he pitted early.
37:15So he was effectively the man leading on the road.
37:18His 100th touring car race.
37:20That looks really serious stuff.
37:22We've seen Prius' car smoke like a chimney and retire.
37:25Is Soper going to suffer the same fate?
37:27Well, there he is.
37:27He's still got a handy gap.
37:29As he threads his way past Mines and the Ford Focus,
37:33he's got a handy gap over this guy here, Jason Plato.
37:36Plato looking back in his rib as a mirror.
37:38He's dropping oil.
37:39He's got to be blacked back.
37:41The oil is coming out of the back of the car, bad.
37:46Well, that's the word from Jason Plato.
37:48Oil coming out of the back.
37:50This is ridiculous.
37:52It's dangerous, man.
37:55It's dangerous behind there.
37:59And James Thompson complaining as well.
38:00They're laying it on heavy and very thick in Vauxhall.
38:03Sorry, but it's dangerous out there, mate.
38:07It's dangerous.
38:07It's dangerous.
38:08It's dangerous.
38:10It's dangerous.
38:11It's all over our car.
38:13It's dangerous.
38:16You've got to do this.
38:18Sorry.
38:22Well, there you go.
38:23Derek Warwick from Vauxhall complaining to Vic Lee,
38:26who's running the Peugeot team.
38:27He thinks it's just too risky.
38:30Well, I think you'd have to say they would say that, wouldn't they, my lad?
38:34OK, well, there's definitely nothing wrong with the pace of that Peugeot.
38:37Still is absolutely flying.
38:38So whatever it is, it's an oil leak.
38:41Maybe nothing wrong with the engine itself,
38:42because it's still absolutely hosing back up the hill,
38:45looking at plenty of horsepower.
38:47There's Plato behind.
38:48James Thompson's just a moment.
38:49A little bit further back.
38:50But at this stage, at least, he's still limping along.
38:55Although he's slowing now.
38:56He's slowing now.
38:57Coming down into Nickerbrook.
38:58Yeah, I think, in fact, it looks like the oil is about to be, well, it's gone.
39:05There's no oil left.
39:07And Steve Soper's pulled over, and a very sad,
39:10but what a great drive from Soper into retirement.
39:13Yeah, that is hugely disappointing, but what a great showing it was indeed.
39:16Jason Plato, luckiest guy since Ringo Starr, is now up in the lead.
39:22James Thompson in second position.
39:25And Steve Soper pausing by the side of the track to think what's happened to him.
39:29Now, what Jason Plato's got to do now is really make the stick,
39:32just open up a bit of a gap.
39:34And also, he's got his eyes set on those 15 points for winning.
39:38Of course, Muller not picking up any prizes in the feature race.
39:41And if Plato can retain the lead, he will retain or regain the lead
39:45in the Drivers' Championship.
39:48Well, Steve Soper there, covered in fluid.
39:50It looks as though the extinguisher must have gone off inside the car.
39:54That's a fitting end to his days.
39:56And if you look at the bottom of the windscreen,
39:58you can see what I think is actually like frost,
40:00which indicates that the extinguisher did go off.
40:04Well, it's a day he will not forget.
40:06We'll all remember Steve Soper's 100th British touring car drive.
40:10Now, here's his teammate still fighting the fight for Peugeot.
40:13So, Dan Eves moving up past one of the production Hondas.
40:16Dan Eves now up into P3 outright.
40:19Not at the pace that Soper's had today.
40:21His day will come, but what good news
40:23to see Peugeot capable of running at the front on Merritt.
40:26Well, Tim Harvey paying the penalty for that terrible pit stop he had.
40:29Mark Blair teaming up with him for this race this weekend is ahead of him.
40:33Both of the Alphas still running.
40:34Great to see.
40:35And Blair in front.
40:36And, of course, Tim Harvey, who manages this team as well as drives for it.
40:41Well, he must be wondering what's happened.
40:43I finished one race this morning
40:45and about to finish the second race this afternoon.
40:48Well, his prayers have been answered.
40:49Yep, and nice to see Mark Blair running so well.
40:52Was a campaigner in the touring cars a couple of years back.
40:55Nice to see him with us.
40:56On board is Simon Harrison as we see Jason Plato just slide down the inside of us
41:00and up over D-Elite getting a very handy gap now.
41:05Just looking like he's ready to bank this.
41:07One lap to go.
41:08Just got to hang it in there.
41:09Just keep stroking it around.
41:11It's almost as though the sea's parted for Jason today.
41:13Always very competitive.
41:14Red-hot title hunter.
41:16As indeed is this man, Simon Harrison.
41:19Well, in spite of Harrison running behind his own teammate, Roger Moen,
41:22if he finishes in this position,
41:23he will actually regain the lead of the production car championship.
41:27And in the outright championship of the British touring car title,
41:30we've been plotting the fortunes of Plato and Muller all day long.
41:34So close together, head-to-head.
41:36Jason Plato came here just three points behind his teammate.
41:39But with Muller out of this race,
41:41if Jason Plato can make this stick, get across the line first,
41:44he's actually going to leave Oldenpark 10 points up.
41:48And I can tell you the smile on Plato's face will be the broadest
41:50it has been in quite a long time.
41:54The view from the side of his car,
41:55ever so neat and smooth there through Nickerbrook.
42:01That's the Clayhill we talk about.
42:03Very fast part of the track here.
42:05This has got to be one of the, well, I think,
42:06the loveliest racetracks in this country.
42:09Not just to look at, but for a racing driver,
42:11it doesn't get much better than this.
42:13Yep, the drivers, drivers love it.
42:15Really, really challenging.
42:17Difficult place, but when you get it right.
42:19And Jason Plato has certainly done that today.
42:21As we've just seen James Thompson jink in the second position there.
42:24Jason was under some real pressure from James Thompson after the pit stops.
42:28Managed to see it off and he comes across the line.
42:31Banks the points, takes the win.
42:33James Thompson in second place.
42:35Well done, guys.
42:37Well done, guys.
42:38Yeah, well done indeed.
42:39And well done to this bloke.
42:40Dan Eves, second podium for Peugeot.
42:43And his first of the year, third place outright for Dan Eves.
42:46And a pair of the Alphas finishing two.
42:50Indeed, fourth and fifth for the two Alphas.
42:52And Erdos, who really could have been ahead of them.
42:54Brian's at the top six.
42:57Well, I hope Ivan Muller's not looking now.
42:59That's what he won't want to see.
43:00Plato from Thompson.
43:02Dan Eves, P3.
43:03Great stuff.
43:03And Mark Blair on the leaderboard in fourth in his first outing.
43:07Just ahead of Tim Harvey.
43:08Tommy Erdos.
43:09Good result there.
43:10And then Moen Harrison and Piper third in production.
43:13You said you were going to win.
43:17Yeah, I was only being a bit confident.
43:20But I know.
43:21I mean, that was anyone's race, to be honest.
43:23But yeah, I'll take the win to only come.
43:25It's a good win.
43:26It's a shame for Steve.
43:27Because they've kind of made a bit of a leap and a bound this week.
43:30And it's great to see.
43:31And, you know, he was a race challenger there.
43:34A race win challenger.
43:35Of course, I'm going to say I don't think he would have won.
43:37But I tell you what, it would have been a ding-dong battle between me and him to the end.
43:41It was almost like a script.
43:43You know, 100th race.
43:44And we all thought you were going to make it a win.
43:45Well, yeah, even I thought when they started to go away in my mirror,
43:48I thought, well, this is looking good.
43:49But there you go.
43:51Next one, maybe.
43:51As Jason said, Peugeot have come on leaps and bounds this week.
43:58Yeah, I mean, you could see Steve was winning the race.
44:00I think he was maintaining a gap to Jason all throughout.
44:03And unfortunately, he broke down.
44:04So that could have been the first victory for us.
44:07But I'll take third place for now.
44:10And here's our Drivers' Championship chart.
44:12As we can see, Plato has hit bound 10 points now ahead of Ivan Muller,
44:16who's dropped James Thompson further out of touch in third.
44:19Defendant in fourth and no contest.
44:21Vauxhall Motorsport in the team's championship.
44:25You made it the double.
44:26Yeah, that was very nice.
44:28It was a hard one.
44:2938 laps in these cars is quite hard.
44:31So I'm very pleased to win this race.
44:33And just have a look.
44:34It's paid some dividends for him.
44:35Simon Harrison has had a good weekend,
44:37increasing his lead over James Kay,
44:39who has fallen slightly.
44:41But look at that.
44:41Moen just one point behind in third position.
44:45And in the team's championship,
44:46G.R. Motorsport romping away.
44:48Well, champagne for today's race winners,
44:51but still too early for anybody
44:53to start celebrating a championship win.
44:55It's still wide open
44:57and sounding pretty dangerous as well.
45:00Andy Prio once again playing a pivotal role
45:03in the outcome of race two.
45:04So it remains as tight as you like.
45:07Next time out, Silverstone, two weeks' time.
45:09Let's see how the dice rolls then.
45:11Yes.
45:12We'll be there.
45:13We'll be there.
