Delhi Capitals returned to winning ways in the Indian Premier League 2025, clinching a thrilling encounter against Rajasthan Royals in the Super Over after the match ended in a tie. Batting first, DC managed 188 for 5, with contributions from Abhishek Porel (49) and KL Rahul (38). Captain Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs played cameo knocks of 34 off 14 and 34 *off 18, helping their franchise to 188. Jofra Archer starred for RR, claiming two wickets, while Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed one each. In reply, Rajasthan Royals started well, with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson getting off to a brisk start. Samson's innings ended on 31 as the captain was retired hurt. Nitish Rana, once again, shone with the bat, scoring 51 off 28, while Jaiswal struck 51 off 37. Dhruv Jurel (26) and Shimron Hetmyer (15*) took Rajasthan Royals close, but failed to cross the finish line as scores were tied at the end of the innings. Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav stood out for DC, picking one wicket each. In the Super Over, RR scored 11 runs off Starc with Riyan Parag and Hetmyer in the middle. DC chased the target in merely four balls with KL Rahul and Stubbs remaining unbeaten to pocket two crucial points.
