Lucknow Super Giants made a comeback with a narrow win over Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, clinching the encounter in Jaipur by two runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 19. Batting first, Lucknow posted 180/5 despite suffering a middle-order collapse. Aiden Markram (66 off 45) slammed his eighth IPL fifty and third of the ongoing season to anchor the innings. Ayush Badoni (50 off 34) played a handy knock, but Abdul Samad's (30 off 10) late blitz propelled Lucknow Super Giants to a solid total. Wanindu Hasaranga (2/31) starred for Rajasthan Royals with the ball, while Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande chipped in with a wicket each. In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal and IPL's youngest debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi added 85 runs for the first wicket, giving the side a perfect start. However, Lucknow Super Giants fought back by dismissing the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi (34). Yashasvi Jaiswal (74 off 52) and Riyan Parag added 62 runs before Avesh Khan claimed the former's wicket. Avesh Khan produced a stellar spell in the death overs, claiming two wickets in a single over and defending nine runs in the last, to finish with 3 for 37.
