29 April - National weather forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office. Warm across
00:05the country today, temperatures a degree or so higher through tomorrow and some parts
00:10through this evening will have a mild night. High pressure firmly in charge, casting an
00:15influence across the whole of the UK with a breeze coming in from the near continent.
00:20Slight changes as we head through to Thursday. This weather front, which will be weak, will
00:24sink southwards for some cooler air behind and we could see an increasing chance of a
00:29few scattered and thundery showers towards the south. Now for the time being it's
00:34pleasantly warm outside with some late sunshine to end the day. A little low
00:39cloud here and there, perhaps one or two mist and fog patches. For Shetland more
00:44cloud and the odd spot or two of rain and drizzle. Now overnight some places will
00:48remain mild, western Scotland, western parts of Wales, northwest England. Inland
00:53though we could see under clearer skies temperatures dipping down to six or seven
00:57Celsius. Lowest temperatures will be the Glens of Scotland but even here probably
01:02around five degrees Celsius. So tomorrow will dawn bright and warm for some but
01:08temperatures rising very quickly helped with that sunshine and even improving
01:12across Shetland through the morning into the afternoon. Not a lot of change as we
01:16head through the day. Notice one or two showers to the north of Scotland. You could see a
01:21little bit more cloud here as we head through the day. Elsewhere blue sky, some moderate to high UV, some high
01:27pollen counts as well through the afternoon. Now temperatures typically will
01:31be a degree or two degrees higher than today. So coming in around 22-23 degrees
01:37Celsius across Scotland and Northern Ireland, 24-25 across Northern England and
01:42Wales, 27 across the home counties as well as the southeast of England down
01:47towards the far south there. Now through tomorrow evening and overnight not a lot of
01:52temperatures are changing. Yet again temperatures will hold up, exceptionally mild for some as we
01:57see more cloud and a little rain just encroach across the far northwest of Scotland. A few showers
02:02perhaps developing ahead of this weather front as it sinks southwards, introducing more cloud to
02:07Scotland and Northern Ireland for a time. Now further south again we'll see that fine weather, blue sky and sunshine, some high UV and temperatures on the ups, 27 to 29 degrees Celsius. So feeling hot in the southeast.
02:21Now further north still a pleasant day, that cloud breaking and notice temperatures around the high teens. Further south though later on we could see one or two showers developing with the risk of one or two heavier downpours and also the chance of some thunder.
02:37That cloud here as I said keeping temperatures slightly lower and there will be
02:42more breeze across the northwest of Scotland where again one or two showers could filter in. So these showers could grow, they'll be fairly scattered.
02:51But as I said there could be one or two heavier downpours as we head through a Thursday evening and overnight. Into Friday it looks like this. Again one or two showers are possible. There will be more clouds across central and northern areas of Scotland. Temperatures waning a little bit so the peak of the heat will be in the south on Thursday.
03:10But even so still feeling pleasantly warm across England and Wales and temperatures across Scotland and Northern Ireland with that sunshine, 16 or 17 Celsius. Wherever you are take care. I'll see you again soon.
03:25Means that you're challenging.
03:27Though it seems to have very life natuurlijk has been here.
