00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Good Friday.
00:03Now the beginning of the bank holiday, mixed fortunes pretty much setting the scene for the weekend
00:07but there will be some fine and dry weather around as well.
00:10However, the bigger picture shows what's happening as we head through the next few hours.
00:14Low pressure sits towards the southwest, delivering clouds and some outbreaks of rain
00:18across more western areas and moving northwards, a gusty wind.
00:22Into Saturday, we hang on to some cooler air across more northern and eastern areas
00:26as these showers fade away, still a bit of a breeze coming through
00:30and then on Easter day, there will be some fine weather around but still some showers lurking out there.
00:36For the time being, some outbreaks of rain across the west country, cloudier skies for Wales.
00:42Further east, you're seeing clearer skies and also some mist and fog patches.
00:46The rain becomes a bit more persistent across northern Ireland
00:50and filaments extending also towards the west of Scotland as we head through the day.
00:54A bit of a chilly start across central Scotland even with some local frost
00:58and one or two showers likely across Shetland as well as Orkney.
01:03So notice the progression of this wet weather mostly across the western side of the country.
01:08Clearer skies further east, so some fine weather for much of England as well as Scotland.
01:13The clouds will continue to thicken through the day as we see this wet weather
01:17extend its way northwards towards western parts of Scotland.
01:21Some heavier pulses for northern Ireland and that rain also just pivoting around towards central southern England
01:27through the latter part of the day as well as the Midlands.
01:30Before that though, temperatures 16 to 18 across more eastern areas in the south.
01:3511 with an onshore breeze for Aberdeenshire, northern Ireland coming in around 11.
01:3812 across the western side of Scotland.
01:4213 down towards the west country where through this evening a rain warning will kick in
01:47and that's because the rain will become a bit heavier.
01:49Gusty winds over the moors as well as the hills of the south of Wales.
01:54So some heavier pulses again extending northwards
01:57and this rain will at times affect the Midlands a little bit towards the south east.
02:02But into Saturday, the weather looks like this.
02:05As you can see, this showery rain is retreating towards the south west,
02:10so we'll see some improvement coming in more westwards.
02:13Certainly for Scotland, one or two showers lurking out there, a mix of clouds and sunshine.
02:18And the rain tends to be offshore as we head through the day across western Scotland.
02:23But still some clouds and showery bursts likely for northern Ireland
02:26through the morning into the afternoon.
02:28This rain tends to fade away across east Wales as it just again moves its way westwards.
02:34Fine weather further east and temperatures the mid-teens.
02:38Now on Easter day, a mostly dry start.
02:41Yes, a few showers across the far north of Scotland with a keen breeze.
02:45Further southeast, notice these showers sort of gathering and you could see a few of those.
02:49More clouds coming in from the east coast through the day.
02:52Fine weather though eventually for Wales, so that's a good day for you
02:55down towards the west country, Midlands, northwest England.
02:59Now for northern Ireland, despite a cloudy start, again with a little bit of sherry rain in places,
03:03you'll find it will dry up here and temperatures reflecting that 12 or 13.
03:08Now where we see the sunshine, 16, but 17 down towards the southeast,
03:1110 though with that breeze across the eastern and northern side of Scotland.
03:16And again, where the cloud's thick enough, you could see the odd spot or two of rain.
03:19Now on Easter Monday, again there'll be a fair amount of clouds,
03:24some brighter breaks towards the east.
03:26A little bit of sherry rain is possible further west.
