00:00Hello there welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:03Office. Now many of us seeing some drier weather tomorrow if not some sunshine.
00:08Showers continue in the north and northwest further south across southern
00:13counties, outbreaks of rain and also some stronger winds. Low pressure sits across
00:17the North Sea through tomorrow still though those showers towards the
00:21northeast but notice across more southern counties this is an area of low
00:25pressure which is tracking towards France. On its northern flank we'll see
00:28more cloud and also outbreaks of rain. The winds pick up for a time as well
00:32across Channel Coast but towards the west a ridge of high pressure. This is
00:38going to bring some settled conditions on Thursday. Frosty start at least though
00:43many of us seeing some brighter weather before more clouds and rain arrives
00:46across Northern Ireland as well as Western Scotland through Thursday night
00:50and into Friday morning. Currently though we are in a showering regime. Stronger
00:54winds across Western Scotland, Northern Ireland delivering those showers further
00:56south across Wales as well as central southern England. It will dry up across
01:01England and Wales just a few scattered showers. The showers continue across
01:04Northern Ireland central and northern areas of Scotland with a strong wind
01:07perhaps even wintry over the higher ground but where we see a lighter breeze
01:11temperatures dipping close to freezing so there could be one or two pockets of
01:15frost certainly some fog patches as we start the day on Wednesday. Through
01:19Wednesday morning thickening cloud brings outbreaks of rain to the West
01:22Country particularly Cornwall, south coast of Devon. It will nudge up towards
01:25southern counties of England as we head through the morning into the afternoon.
01:29At the same time cloud spills ahead of it but for Northern England as well as
01:32North Wales, Northern Ireland and shelter towards the south central
01:36southern parts of Scotland you'll see some brighter weather. Showers continue
01:39though just to push in on that strong wind across Northern Ireland, Western
01:42Scotland they'll be fairly scattered and any showery bursts across northern
01:46Scotland will tend to push up towards Shetland although we'll still see some
01:50showers in the mix with that wind coming in from the northwest. Later on the day
01:54that rain extends towards the southeast of England nudging up towards Suffolk as
01:59well so some wet weather through tomorrow evening across these parts
02:03extending towards Hampshire. Eventually the rain will fade on its northern edge
02:07as we see a widespread frost develop pushing ever southwards. On the northern
02:14and western side of the country yes stronger winds bringing some showery
02:18bursts through the morning but through the afternoon many areas will turn out
02:22dry showers become confined to the northeast of Scotland we'll see some
02:26sunshine coming through which is good news clouds just drifting across the sky
02:30your high seven or eight. Your outlook then through Friday any rain across
02:34Western Scotland and Northern Ireland through Thursday night clears towards
02:38the south coast we'll see some broken clouds in its wake also some sunshine
02:42coming through. I'll see you later.
