Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning which is fine for many.
00:05We are chasing cloud a little bit this morning but a ridge of high pressure has extended from the north
00:10keeping things fairly settled. Make the most of it through Friday. More cloud and rain arrives
00:16across Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain. The wind picks up some strength
00:19and this weather front here will make inroads towards much of Scotland, England and Wales
00:24as we head through into the weekend with showers to follow. Let's pick up on some detail
00:29through this morning though and to be honest it's a mix of cloud and fine weather. We're seeing
00:35more clouds across southern counties. The odd spot or two of rain can't be ruled out. The clouds more
00:39broken across West Wales, North West England but further east that cloud's fairly stubborn as we
00:44start the day. A mix of cloud and sunshine so a fine start across Northern Ireland but a few showers
00:49lurking across the Irish Sea. You may find one or two of those just clipping the Isle of Man. Notice
00:54more clouds across the north east of Scotland and here we'll see the odd spot or two of rain but the
00:59clouds breaking up across Shetland as well as Orkney and a fine start further west although it's a bit
01:04of a chilly one particularly across the glens of Scotland and a bit of a breeze towards the north
01:08east. This onshore breeze keeping things rather cooler on the eastern strip as we head through
01:13the day today and that cloud will slowly break and thin so an improving picture and even further south
01:20where you see that thicker cloud we should see some fine conditions through the day. Best of the sunshine
01:25will always be towards the west before thickening cloud will continue just to move in across Northern
01:31Ireland. Notice a wet afternoon across the Republic of Ireland as that wind picks up. Temperatures then
01:3711, 12, 13 along the eastern side further west in shelter with some sunshine. 16, 17, even 18 degrees
01:44celsius. A fine afternoon to come warm in that sunshine enjoy it whilst you can. So that's the picture this
01:50afternoon through this evening and overnight yet again some clearer skies. The cloud drifts across
01:55towards the east of England as well as Scotland as rain arrives around midnight across Northern Ireland
02:01and it could pep up into the early hours of tomorrow morning with a stronger wind here. Notice it fringes western
02:07Scotland as we head through to daybreak on Friday. Elsewhere it's a fine start to the day with some sunshine.
02:13Through the afternoon not a lot of change across the bulk of England, Wales, central and eastern Scotland but the
02:18rain continues across Northern Ireland, western Scotland as well. Now through Saturday a better start across
02:25Northern Ireland as we see this weather front disintegrate into showery bursts and push eastwards. So some places we'll see just more
02:32clouds. It'll be a bit drier but we will see those showery bursts continue particularly in the north. Some lurking
02:38further south with further showers to follow but also some sunshine. Temperatures though 16 to 18 degrees celsius
02:44and even higher on Sunday. Yes the warmth has arrived 17 to 21 celsius. Yet again we'll see some showers
02:51towards the north as well as the west. Have a lovely day.
