00:00If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that they were double-dipping on a dual identity.
00:04Here's your look at the brand new McFarlane toys.
00:06This is the DC Silver Age McFarlane Toys Digital Two-Face.
00:25Harvey Dent has led a deeply conflicted life,
00:27possessing a split personality that veers between the two extremes of good and evil.
00:31Dent goes by the name of Two-Face.
00:33It's an apt description of his physical appearance,
00:35scarred by acid into outwardly becoming the monster he once hid away from the world.
00:39Two-Face has become a tragic figure,
00:41and one of Batman's most unpredictable and dangerous opponents.
00:44I know when it comes to your luck with Harvey, you only have a 50% chance.
00:47I was hoping, though, when it came to Harvey, I had a 100% chance of finding the figure.
00:50Sure enough, I did.
00:51It was on the Facebook selling group, and I bought this from Popeye the Toy Man.
00:54Yeah, if you guys are interested and would like to get some hot DC Multiverse figures,
00:59you can click the link and check out his page.
01:01In the meantime, though, let's grab the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands.
01:04It'd be safe to say that, yeah, because he's just a different deco,
01:07that the figure is, in fact, going to stand the same as the one we've already had a look at.
01:10What, this week?
01:11Yeah, he is.
01:11Seven inches in height, or this Two-Face is going to stand the same at about 17.5 centimeters tall.
01:17A different deco dent, yes,
01:19but it is still the exact same figure as the Platinum Edition that we've already had a look at.
01:22But, you know, what's funny is that we looked at, really, the regular release second.
01:26Technically, we really should have looked at him first.
01:28But, to be all honest, though, I actually like this deco of him a little bit more than the black and white.
01:32Although, again, if you guys have had the chance to find these in the wild,
01:35let me know if you've got the Platinum Edition or the regular version.
01:38Either way, again, as you can see, the bodies are going to be exactly the same.
01:41This body also seems very similar, in fact, to the one that we got from Mattel,
01:45what, like 20 years ago?
01:47Even more than that.
01:47This was from the DC Universe Classics days.
01:51Very similar style, although they sort of phoned it in when it came to his shirt and his tie.
01:55They haven't split it at all down the middle.
01:57At least the one that we get from McFarlane Toys did do that.
01:59And another one that's one of my personal favorites.
02:01This was from the DC Direct days.
02:04Unfortunately, though, with his legs being so close like this,
02:06I always have to kind of rely on the display stand.
02:07But the one thing I really liked about this Two-Face,
02:09there we go,
02:11is that he's pulled from, actually, the front cover of Secret Files.
02:14I think the backstory of some of the most dangerous rogues of Gotham City.
02:19Two-Face was on there.
02:20This set also consists of Hugo Strange, Poison Ivy.
02:23Who was the other one?
02:24Oh, and Joker.
02:24Yeah, Killing Joke Joker.
02:26One thing that was really also neat about this, if you guys can actually see,
02:29he did have a flipping coin.
02:30I was surprised.
02:31I'm surprised, actually.
02:32Oh, no.
02:33I was going to say, I'm surprised I haven't lost it.
02:35I know, it's just down there.
02:36It's just down there.
02:37He had a little flipping coin that was on the end of his finger.
02:39Great looking head sculpt, though.
02:41Still drives home the point I wanted to make,
02:42that I love zanier hair on Two-Face.
02:45I never really want to have the character bald.
02:46The moment you make a character bald like that,
02:48he loses some of the appeal in my eyes.
02:50Perhaps not plural, no,
02:51but check out the peeper on the one side of Two-Face's scarred face.
02:54No, don't point at it.
02:55Just look at it.
02:56We'll be also looking at some of the other things
02:57that come in clear with the figure as well.
02:59The list is quite small, though.
03:01First, he does come in clear with something
03:02that's probably not going to be stored away in your collection sheet,
03:04this McFarlane toy's digital redemption card.
03:06We've already scratched away one of them
03:08when we looked at the Platinum Edition release of Harvey.
03:10On the back of the card, though,
03:12all you have to do is go to www.mtd.gg
03:15to download the McFarlane Toys digital viewer app on your Mac or PC.
03:19Yeah, that font is pretty small.
03:21Scratch above to reveal your one-time code,
03:23create your account, and log in.
03:25Then click on Redeem Code in the left panel of the screen
03:28and follow the instructions in the pop-up window.
03:30Could you even see that?
03:31You probably can actually see that a little bit better than I can.
03:34Let's just grab off to the side here my nail clippers.
03:36I always use these clipped little ties, of course,
03:38that keep the figures inside their plastic prisons.
03:40Let's go ahead and scratch this.
03:43I know it's not going to be the exact same code as the other one.
03:45It'd be quite funny if it was.
03:47Let's scratch this away.
03:49And again, you don't have to be the one that says,
03:51I was the one that redeemed the code.
03:52Then everybody's going to be pointing at you,
03:54like they're going to be awkwardly pointing at Harvey.
03:56Got that?
03:57Get it?
03:57Got it?
03:58Okay, so good.
03:59Let's move that off to the side.
04:01Again, what's interesting, though,
04:02is that we're looking at the regular release of Harvey Dent
04:04actually after the fact of looking at the Platinum Edition
04:07when really, crisscross, applesauce,
04:08it should have been flipped around the other way.
04:11This card actually is so much more closer
04:12to resembling the actual figure,
04:14unlike the black and white that we looked at before.
04:16And yet, though,
04:17it's the exact same trading card as the one already.
04:20Exact same image.
04:21Exact same read-up also on the back.
04:23His debut is still the same
04:24at Detective Comics Volume 1, number 66.
04:27Way back when.
04:28Jump into your DeLorean to go back to August 1942.
04:31And don't whatever you do,
04:32don't alter the temporal stream.
04:35Usually when it comes to things like this,
04:37in case you're curious,
04:38I'm not going to be wasting the exact,
04:40I'm not going to be putting two of these
04:41side by side inside my plastic sheets.
04:43That's just going to be occupying space for another card.
04:46When it comes to things like this,
04:47usually what I do is I double it up.
04:49He's got a double personality.
04:50I also have double-upped cards.
04:52Kind of funny, ironic when you think about it.
04:54What's also ironic, too,
04:55is that the figure comes in clue
04:56with the exact same display stand.
04:57I guess that's not really irony.
04:59It's McFarlane Toys Digital.
05:00Well, the other Harvey Dent also had this as well
05:03because both of them
05:04were part of McFarlane Toys Digital Releases.
05:07The actual display stand
05:08obviously just has one neighboring peg
05:09to the far corner
05:10that can plug into either one of his shoes.
05:12You have to choose which one.
05:13You can't have it on both.
05:15No, it doesn't work that way.
05:16One peg, two shoes.
05:17You can't split up the pegs.
05:19I guess you could,
05:20but I mean, you'd have to kind of cut it in the middle
05:22and I don't have a sharp enough laser to do that.
05:25No, no, that's not going to work.
05:26That's not going to cut it.
05:27No, literally, it's not going to cut it.
05:28Let's move that off to the side.
05:30Okay, so the one issue
05:31that I sort of had with the other two-faced
05:33carries over and again doubles up
05:35when this release.
05:36The figure does have, yeah, flipping coin,
05:37but the coin happens to be on the ends of his fingers
05:39and there's no way to remove it.
05:41I suppose you probably could pry this off,
05:43but why would you do that?
05:44You'd only just damage his thumb.
05:45You'd damage the finger.
05:46You'd cry and go upstairs,
05:48then tell that, you know,
05:49your mom and your dad,
05:50hey, this guy told me to do that.
05:51I didn't tell you to do that.
05:52I didn't tell you to start ripping coins
05:53off people's fingers,
05:55real or otherwise.
05:56So yeah, unfortunately though,
05:57while this figure doesn't have a swappable hand,
05:59it's really though the one thing
06:01I really wish this figure could have had.
06:03I can get behind why they can't use the guns.
06:05I mean, lasers maybe,
06:06could they have given this guy
06:07at least a laser gun
06:08instead of a pew pew pistol?
06:10I don't know.
06:11But yeah, he doesn't have a gun.
06:12I mean, I'm sure you probably could pull a gun
06:14from any one of the figures
06:14we've gotten from before.
06:15I use the Tommy gun actually
06:17from the DC Universe Classics Two-Face
06:19and I got that right now
06:20displayed with the black and white.
06:22I might actually,
06:22in fact,
06:23being that this is kind of
06:24my favorite of the two,
06:25I might use maybe the Tommy gun
06:26with this figure
06:27instead of the black and white.
06:28I'm sorry,
06:28black and white Harvey Dent.
06:29You know,
06:30you were a good looking figure,
06:31but I think I like this guy
06:32a little bit more.
06:33So yeah,
06:34while unfortunately though
06:34he can't remove the coin
06:36from the ends of his fingers,
06:37he doesn't come with
06:37also a swappable hand.
06:39The hand isn't scarred at all either.
06:41I guess,
06:42I don't necessarily expect this
06:44to have a scarred hand.
06:45The fact at least
06:46it's painted in green.
06:48It's a crazier looking Two-Face.
06:49I prefer really to have
06:50Two-Face outlandish
06:51in colors like this.
06:53I mean,
06:53again,
06:53like when you're looking
06:54at the two,
06:55one would look a little bit
06:55more realistic,
06:56as realistic as having
06:57one burned side of your face
06:59and psyche.
07:00While this one,
07:01I'm sure would appeal
07:02to probably fans
07:03that like the Batman
07:04animated series version
07:05of Two-Face,
07:06Harvey Dent.
07:07We'd probably maybe geared
07:08towards maybe getting
07:08this figure over this one,
07:10but I like more
07:10the Silver Age look
07:11to Two-Face where,
07:12like again,
07:13like his colors
07:13have to go crazy.
07:15Purple on the one side,
07:16orange on the other.
07:17Even he's got a split
07:18colored tie and shirt
07:19on his dark purple.
07:21Then he's got a lighter purple
07:22on the other side
07:22with his white shirt.
07:24The head sculpt,
07:25I feel,
07:25looks a lot nicer
07:26with the regular release.
07:28Again,
07:28I like green face,
07:29Two-Face over a regular,
07:30like the red version
07:31that we've already
07:32had a look at.
07:33The hair seems
07:33exactly the same though.
07:34I mean,
07:35if you're looking
07:35at the colors,
07:36maybe this one
07:37has a little bit
07:38more gray in it,
07:39but I think I'm only
07:39just like nickel and diming
07:40the differences
07:41between the two.
07:42The faces are seeming
07:43to be exactly the same.
07:44I mean,
07:45paint-wise too.
07:46I feel like maybe
07:46this one might have
07:47a little bit more
07:48reddish coloring
07:49to the skin complexion
07:50where this one
07:51comes across
07:51a little bit paler.
07:52The green definitely
07:53does work better for me
07:54and I still like hair
07:55on the side
07:56of scarred Two-Face.
07:57Don't give me
07:57bald Two-Face
07:58because then he
07:59loses the appeal.
08:00You can see like
08:01there's the sneer
08:01on the one side,
08:03very large eye
08:04on the other
08:04or a large eye
08:05just above that
08:06and a normal face
08:07on the other side.
08:08Spin this around
08:09so you guys
08:09can see this.
08:12Now,
08:12when it comes
08:13to his body,
08:13if you're kind
08:14of going back
08:14and looking
08:15at the source
08:15material,
08:16you'll probably
08:17recognize though
08:17that his jacket
08:18sort of has
08:19like a basket
08:20pattern,
08:20like a crisscross,
08:22like a grid,
08:23like a little grid
08:23pattern.
08:24They can't seem
08:25to do that though
08:25with this figure.
08:26What we only get
08:27instead is a purple
08:28jacket on one side
08:29and then the orange
08:29on the other.
08:31Spectre Creative,
08:31I think is a YouTube
08:32channel I really like
08:33enjoying watching
08:34his videos.
08:34He was actually
08:35talking about the cost
08:36of producing figures
08:37and he said
08:37a lot of it
08:38has to really do
08:38when it comes
08:39to the budget
08:39going to the deco
08:41of a figure.
08:42When you start
08:42to kind of look
08:43at things like
08:43webbing on Spider-Man
08:44or in this case,
08:45if you were to put
08:46a grid pattern
08:46on Two-Face,
08:47that would cost
08:48an additional amount
08:49of budget
08:49for the company
08:50then to produce
08:50a figure with that
08:51and it may have
08:52then skyrocketed
08:53the price
08:53or it may have
08:54also eaten away
08:55at what they could
08:55afford to produce
08:56the figure.
08:57Instead,
08:58instead of getting
08:58us the grid look,
09:00what we get though
09:01is just a regular
09:01purple jack,
09:02which is fine.
09:03I would have really
09:04loved if they could
09:05have gone and done
09:05something similar
09:06to what we have
09:07on the card.
09:08Just so again,
09:09like it would be
09:09looked the closest
09:10of what we're
09:10getting here.
09:11The actual jacket
09:12looks again nice.
09:13It's a softer material
09:14obviously because
09:15it's going to be
09:15covering over the
09:16top of his torso,
09:17which I don't know
09:18if I talked too much
09:19about when we looked
09:20at the other one,
09:21but it seems like
09:22he almost does have
09:22a torso crunch
09:24where you can move
09:24it up and down
09:25this way.
09:26Of course,
09:26when it comes to
09:26his lower legs,
09:27right split down
09:28the middle,
09:29so you've got sort
09:29of orange tang
09:30on the one side
09:31and grape Kool-Aid
09:31on the other.
09:32What's different though
09:33is his shoes
09:34as opposed to being
09:35the black shoes
09:36from before.
09:37He actually has
09:37himself now
09:38brown shoes.
09:39Hear that,
09:39kids?
09:40Brown!
09:41That's a quote
09:41from the Simpsons.
09:43Yeah,
09:43he still has the pegs
09:44on the bottom of his feet.
09:45Nothing changes here
09:45at all.
09:46I guess they probably
09:47could have altered
09:47the footwear a little bit
09:48so he would have had
09:49like maybe spats
09:50on one side
09:51or like the little
09:52metal plates
09:53on the one side.
09:53I don't feel like
09:54you really need
09:54to change too much.
09:55Footwear needs,
09:56I think footwear
09:57can be fine to stay
09:58the same.
09:58He's split everywhere
09:59else up the middle
10:00so I don't feel
10:01the need like
10:01they have to change
10:02his shoes all of a sudden.
10:04For the figure's
10:04articulation,
10:04if you're familiar
10:05already with the
10:05other two faces,
10:06this one's going to be
10:07exactly the same.
10:08Wait,
10:08it is?
10:09Yeah.
10:10What are you guys
10:10following along?
10:11Head's going to rotate
10:12all the way around.
10:13You can rotate it up
10:13or hinge it up and down.
10:15Of course the head
10:16does rotate back
10:16and hinge back
10:17and forth as well.
10:18The upper torso
10:19as mentioned already
10:20does seem to have
10:20a crunch.
10:21You can feel it
10:22or you'll have to
10:23at least believe me
10:23when I say I can feel it.
10:25The upper torso
10:26also gives him
10:26a good generous ball joint
10:27so you can rotate
10:28the figures all the way
10:29around for the top
10:29of his torso.
10:30As for rotating,
10:31his arms also do the same.
10:33They hinge out
10:34at a 90 degree angle bend
10:35or if those prefer
10:36to say this as a T-pose,
10:37he does also form
10:38the capital T.
10:40The figure does have
10:41a swivel at the bicep,
10:42a double hinge on the elbow.
10:43It doesn't matter
10:44whether you look
10:44at the evil side
10:45or you look at the good side.
10:46The hands also rotate
10:47all the way around
10:48with a hinge back and forth.
10:49Legs split out.
10:51They seem to make
10:52more of a noise here
10:52I've noticed here
10:53with this version of Two-Face
10:54than on the other one.
10:55And you can get
10:56about that far of a split.
10:57Ouch!
10:58Ooh, that's got to hurt.
10:58You can see there's also
11:00as well the peg joints
11:01working behind the scenes.
11:02It also seems like
11:03they have ratcheted joints.
11:04See the little ledge
11:05of plastic right there?
11:06Are we spending
11:06so much time
11:07looking at Two-Face's crotch?
11:08I'm sorry,
11:08we'll stop that.
11:09Swivel a little bit
11:10at the top of the thigh.
11:11More generous of a ball joint,
11:12a ball hinge joint,
11:14or a double hinge joint
11:14in his knees.
11:15And then of course
11:16he's got the ankle pivot,
11:17an ankle rocker,
11:18and a toe articulation point
11:20as well.
11:21Of the really two,
11:22I do prefer this one
11:23a little bit more.
11:24I mean again,
11:24if you're going to be giving
11:25us a Silver Age Two-Face,
11:26go all out
11:27when it comes to the colors.
11:28I guess it probably
11:29was working better
11:30that we did start things first
11:31looking at the black and white
11:32right down the middle
11:33because I think really
11:34between the two,
11:35even though this is really
11:36the Platinum Edition figure,
11:37this is ideally
11:38the Chase figure.
11:39I'd be chasing more down
11:40trying to get this figure
11:41over this one.
11:42Funny though enough
11:43that I tried to order
11:44this one through Amazon.
11:45Not that this is
11:47obviously a side tangent,
11:49but I tried to order
11:49this from Amazon.
11:50I had already purchased it.
11:52It said it was ready to ship
11:54and it even gave me
11:55an estimated delivery time
11:56of Thursday.
11:57Funny though enough,
11:57I would go back then again
11:59and it would say,
12:00not only did it say,
12:01we would advise you,
12:02we would advise you
12:03when the delivery
12:03would be arriving,
12:04but then when I clicked
12:05the listing for Two-Face,
12:07he was sold out.
12:08What the, what the, what the?
12:10Luckily though,
12:11I was able to go to
12:11Popeye the Toy Man
12:12over on the Facebook
12:13selling group.
12:14Got this guy for a great price.
12:15And again,
12:16I really do,
12:16even though I like really
12:17this one a little bit
12:18more than this one,
12:19happy to have more than
12:20one Two-Face's on my shelf.
12:21I mean,
12:22he's going to have
12:22a split psyche,
12:23a double personality.
12:24Why not have double releases
12:25from McFarlane Toys?
12:26I mentioned this
12:27in the other review
12:27of Two-Face.
12:28I do really feel
12:28as we're getting near
12:29the end of the lifespan
12:30of the DC Multiverse line
12:31and what McFarlane's been
12:32doing so well
12:33for the last several years,
12:34I feel like we're really
12:35getting some of the
12:36best figures ever.
12:37I mean,
12:37if you were to look
12:38at a figure like Two-Face,
12:39a Silver Age Two-Face,
12:40no doubt,
12:41I don't think we would
12:42have ever gotten this
12:43for the last several years
12:44that they've been doing.
12:45I mean,
12:45a lot of it really had
12:46so much tied into
12:47like short run
12:48miniseries comic characters
12:49and deep cut characters
12:51that didn't really,
12:52didn't really appeal
12:53to every collectors out there.
12:55I mean,
12:55for me,
12:56I'm an old guy.
12:57I love the idea
12:57of getting now
12:58Silver Age characters
12:59with the way that they look
13:00from the comics
13:00that I read as a kid.
13:02Two-Face though
13:02looks fantastic
13:03and the fact that
13:04we get ourselves
13:05doubled up releases of them,
13:07a double dip,
13:07but a double dip
13:08that's justified
13:08at least in my eyes.
13:10I mean,
13:10again,
13:11for a release of Two-Face,
13:12easily you could release
13:14another three or four of these
13:15in different decos
13:15and this guy behind the camera
13:17will still scoop them up.
13:18Speaking of scooping up though,
13:20again,
13:20the figure does have
13:21the one issue
13:22with the one hand not,
13:23I mean,
13:24he always has to be
13:25holding the coin.
13:26If you don't like that look,
13:27I suppose you probably
13:28could try to find a green hand.
13:29I mean,
13:29what other figure
13:30would have had a green hand
13:31about this size?
13:32No,
13:32no,
13:33not Robin.
13:33Robin would have had
13:34a gloved hand.
13:36Martian Manhunter?
13:37No,
13:37Martian Manhunter
13:38would have had
13:38probably a more darker green.
13:40Maybe like Ambush Bug.
13:42Would Ambush Bug maybe work?
13:44I'm going to have to look.
13:46I mean,
13:46in the end though,
13:47I would want to really
13:48have Two-Face displayed
13:49with a coin in his hand.
13:50I guess it's somewhat
13:51redundant for me then
13:52is complain that the figure
13:53shouldn't really have
13:54or have more than one
13:55option available.
13:56I always just really feel
13:58like options are available.
13:59If you can't use the plastic
14:00to give this guy a pistol,
14:02use the plastic instead
14:03to give him some
14:03interchangeable hands.
14:04There's been other contenders
14:06out there in the market
14:06that they've released
14:07in the past
14:07where he gets extra hands
14:09and you think to yourself,
14:09what am I going to do
14:10with all these extra hands?
14:12Two-Face would be
14:13a prime example
14:14of a character
14:14where I would say
14:15more hands
14:15would have been ideal.
14:17I mean,
14:17clearly he can't
14:18have a pistol
14:18so give him
14:19a different alternate
14:20relaxed hand
14:21for the one side
14:22and then give him
14:22a hand on the other
14:23that doesn't have
14:24a coin in it.
14:25What do you guys think
14:25of this figure?
