00:00Carly Pearce with Jeff and Justin at the CMA's. Carly Pearce, how are you?
00:03I'm so good.
00:04You doing well?
00:05I'm doing great.
00:06I mean, when you have Chris Stapleton featuring on a song, it's hard not to be really happy.
00:10I'm doing really nice.
00:11That song is so strong and powerful.
00:14I mean, when I just thought you couldn't top the last album when it comes to emotions in an album, you do it.
00:20Well, you know, I feel like it was unexpected to come with something this deep again,
00:25but it was just a song that I felt like was important.
00:27I wrote it, and I heard Stapleton's voice on it in my head, and here we are.
00:32That's really special.
00:33Yeah.
00:33CMA Awards on Wednesday performing.
00:36Can you, like, reveal anything, or do they swear you to secrecy?
00:40Like fireworks?
00:41No fireworks.
00:42Live animals, anything?
00:43I have Chris Stapleton.
00:45That feels like the greatest thing ever.
00:47An animal in itself.
00:48You're so amazing up there.
00:49The animal.
00:51I think it's just really, I think the way that it's shot is really beautiful,
00:54and I feel like you kind of see Chris in a light that you've never seen him in before,
00:59which you'll understand when you see it.
01:01That's cool.
01:01It's cool.
01:02You know, we drove across the country, well, I should not be that exaggerated,
01:05from Philly to Nashville.
01:06Yeah.
01:07We did a whole trip, and we stopped at Dollywood.
01:09Oh, my God.
01:10And we did the nerdiest thing ever.
01:11What did you do?
01:12We walked around, and I went, do you think she performed here?
01:14Or was it here?
01:16Do you think she performed there?
01:16Or was it there?
01:17Then we took a fudge break.
01:19Do you think she performed there?
01:20Of course.
01:21You probably took, like, six fudge breaks.
01:22We bought, so I spent $40 on fudge, Carly.
01:25Oh, did you try the cinnamon bread?
01:26No.
01:27Carly, we should have talked to you.
01:29Day four.
01:29They have shirts that said, good day for cinnamon bread.
01:32I should have took the hint and should have got the cinnamon bread.
01:34Oh, we screwed up.
01:35My theater was right across from cinnamon bread, so.
01:37We were there.
01:38We were there.
01:38That's where Country Christmas was.
01:39They had the banjo.
01:40Oh, yes.
01:41Yeah, okay, that's the stage.
01:42Country Crossroads.
01:43Okay.
01:43Country Crossroads.
01:44Oh, that's right, that's right.
01:45I'm sorry.
01:45Well, they were, now we're into Christmas.
01:47We're celebrating Christmas.
01:48Okay, okay.
01:49Already transferred over.
01:50No, but you're good.
01:50But you need cinnamon bread.
01:52God.
01:52That's the greatest.
01:53You know, you look at, like, look at where Carly Pierce is now in her life.
01:57So when you go to a place like Dollywood, or you're walking on Broadway, and you hear
02:00these, quote unquote, nobodies, you know this could be the next Carly Pierce, right?
02:05This could be somebody.
02:05So when we were walking around Dollywood, I was thinking about it the whole time.
02:08There was this amazing singer who was just, you know, guitar singing little Christmas
02:12ditties.
02:12And I was like, that could be the next one because everybody has a journey, and your
02:16journey has taken you to here, and the success of the last two years has been massive, Carly
02:20Pierce.
02:20It felt like just yesterday we had her for a free show, and now all of a sudden, now
02:23all of a sudden she's Carly Pierce just crushing it and being so true to yourself.
02:27Oh, thank you.
02:28All right, so watch CMAs because we're going to see Chris Stapleton in a new light, and
02:32we're going to hear this beautiful voice on the stage at the CMAs.
02:35Cinnamon bread next time.
02:36Cinnamon bread.
02:37Brought to you by cinnamon bread at Dollywood.
