00:00my favorite story that i had in college i'll tell you since this is the all fair show here's story

00:04time go to see the grateful dead in brendan burn arena in new jersey right used to be the old

00:10devil's arena though okay brooklyn excuse me new jersey nets arena izod center yes i think it

00:16became the izod center i think you're right it was right next to um the meadowlands so you know

00:21the way it used to be was giant stadium you know all these fucking freeways and then brendan burn

00:28which is what they called it then i think it did become the izod center grateful dead izod center

00:32we drove down from boston yeah took a bunch of psychedelics obviously somewhere in the beginning

00:41of the second set my friend was like started wig out and just took off okay boom ran down the stairs and

00:49didn't see him get outside show ends get outside waiting for the fucking guy to show up at the car

00:56show up we drove really smart uh waiting for him at the car waiting for him at the car waiting for

01:04him at the car waiting for him at the car a couple hours uh they start to clear out the parking lots

01:09they don't let you overnight park there of course otherwise there'd be hundreds of fucking hippies

01:13you know they'd never leave they'd be camping out there so they clear the parking lots at a certain

01:18hour in the middle of the goddamn night he's nowhere to be found this is back in the days this was uh

01:2489 so it wasn't like we all had cell phones i don't think he had a cell phone we did i think

01:30someone did one of us did he didn't you know again it was just pre-cell phone where everyone had a

01:35goddamn cell phone call him call him call him no no answer whatever no no where he was uh got on the

01:41one cell phone we did have called the cops called a couple hospitals nothing nothing nothing

01:47we gotta get we gotta go so we get in the car we drive home to boston

01:51sitting in the apartment the next day knock on the door open it up and there he is i shit you not

01:58in a straight jacket kind of configuration a hospital gown that doubled as a straight jacket

02:07so it had the ropes and the ties and the sort of thing where you could tie it as a straight jacket

02:11or wear it open as a coat he had spent the night in the psychiatric hospital oh my god in

02:18east rutherford new jersey because he thought brendan burn was a spaceship and he had to get out

02:24of it he ran out of it ran through the parking lot did a full sprint when he ran out of real estate he

02:29got to a chain link fence which he scaled got onto the freeway and started running down the side of

02:37the freeway at which point a cop finally sees him pulls over gets out of the squad car to be like

02:44whoa kid you know like whoa my guy runs him over barrels over him keeps running cops like okay

02:52gets back in the squad car boom takes him down straight jacket psychiatric hospital you're spending

03:00the night and he made his way back and that was my favorite story no one got hurt feel bad for the

03:05cop that he ran over not good not cool but uh no one got hurt at the end of the day it was harmless

03:11that's the last time he ever did psych psychedelics but that was my favorite college story getting
