00:00Okay, we start with baseball, where the Yankees lost in the afternoon game to the Mariners yesterday.
00:05Final score, 7-3.
00:07Garrett Cole had a disastrous first inning, giving up six runs, his worst first inning in his entire career.
00:14He did settle down after that, pitched well, but that was just far too many runs for the Mariners' talented new starter, Luis Castillo, who picked up the win for Seattle.
00:24Aaron Judge had the day off yesterday, so no home run watch for Mr. Judge.
00:29Still at 70-36, the Yankees have the best record in the AL by a couple of games over the Astros.
00:36Meanwhile, the Mets took down the Nationals 9-5.
00:38Pete Alonzo slugged his 28th home run of the season.
00:42Met DH Daniel Vogel back connected for a grand slam, as well as the Mets improve to 66-38.
00:50First place in the NL East, the Phillies beat the Braves 3-1.
00:55Phil's Nick Castellanos hit his 9th home run of the year.
00:59As the Phillies remain a half game in front of the Cardinals for the third and final National League wildcard spot.
01:07So all of the local teams still very much in playoff contention.
01:11Baseball, former, excuse me, basketball.
01:15Former Nick guard Iman Shumpert was arrested recently.
01:18After he had what police said was a sizable amount of marijuana in his bag at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
01:28Oh boy.
01:28You can't do that.
01:30Shumpert was drafted by the Knicks in 2011.
01:33Recently won Dancing with the Stars.
01:36Now he faces two years in jail.
01:38Football, the NFL is appealing the six-game suspension that Cleveland Browns quarterback, Deshaun Watson, has received from a third-party arbiter.
01:49Why is the league going against it?
01:52Because Roger Goodell is seeking a tougher penalty for Deshaun Watson after the fallout.
02:00The public outcry, which, you know, was very, very loud for the fact that Deshaun Watson only received six games.
02:09Okay.
02:09People were expecting a year-long suspension minimum for, you know, I mean, the third-party judge said he was a sexual predator and then pointed to, you know, like 30 cases against him.
02:24And so, but then that third-party judge only gave him six games citing NFL precedent.
02:30And Goodell wanted, but this whole thing is now a total disaster because basically that entire trial, it's like,
02:39so now Roger Goodell has the power to just say, well, I don't like that suspension, so we're just going to do this whole thing all over again.
02:46And that seems weird to me.
02:48Seems odd to me that Robert Kraft did the same thing, was doing the same thing, and there was no book thrown at him.
02:56I know.
02:57But, you know, it's got to be one way or the other, you know.
03:00I think that probably what you're saying, I mean, probably both guys should have had the book thrown at him is what it is.
03:08So, yeah, I mean, if, you know, Goodell's trying to smooth this over for PR purposes, but now it's kind of making him look a little bit like he's overreaching with his power again.
03:18You know, so it's a real mess, that whole thing, with Deshaun Watson, Roger Goodell in the NFL right now.
03:26And finally, Aaron Rodgers says he, in order to heal with the Green Bay Packers, he used psychedelic drugs.
03:34He says he ingested ayahuasca, a psychedelic plant, so that he could feel unconditional love for the Green Bay Packers after they had a discord a few years ago.
03:46That's nice.
03:46Okay.
03:47Hey, listen, psychedelic drugs, I mean, people are using all kinds of drugs.
03:51I'm not at all judging Aaron Rodgers.
03:54What I'm saying is this now explains the, you know, dressing up like Nick Cage, the various odd things that seems like Aaron Rodgers.
04:03I don't know if that was a costume or if that was just how he was feeling.
04:06He was dressing up like Nick Cage.
04:08He was reenacting Con Air.
04:10I mean, he actually went on screen and said, I was reenacting Con Air.
04:15Oh, that was my point.
04:16Yeah, it was a shot-for-shot direct reenactment of the Con Air.
04:20Oh, okay.
04:21But I'm not just talking about that.
04:22I'm just talking about the overall aloof attitude.
04:24Remember when we talked about, you know, I watched the golf special, and I told you, like, when I was watching Aaron Rodgers talk, he was just, like, not interested in anything.
04:33I was really high that day, so I don't really recall, but.
04:37You don't recall this conversation?
04:38Do you actually listen to me when I talk?
04:41I have a feeling like the answer is no.
04:43Who are you?
04:44Yeah.
04:44Where am I?
04:44Yeah.
04:45What happened?
04:47I say use the psychedelics.
04:49Oh, absolutely.
04:51Just careful where you throw the ball, Aaron, especially if you're on my fantasy team this year.
