00:00All right, Dave, sports, what do we got, man?
00:02Well, we are going to start with the Yankees, who made history last night
00:06as Domingo Hermann threw a perfect game.
00:11No way.
00:12And the Yanks' 11-0 win over the Oakland A's last night.
00:16Huh.
00:16Just the fourth perfect game in Yankee history.
00:20Don Larson, David Wells, David Cohn, of course, threw the other three.
00:25Hermann was simply amazing, going the distance, giving up no runs, no hits,
00:30no walks while striking out nine.
00:33Look at that.
00:34And we've seen, we actually just talked about Domingo Hermann,
00:39I think last week, saying he's got so much talent, but he's up and down, up and down.
00:43He's very much a roller coaster.
00:45But hopefully, after throwing a perfect game, I mean,
00:48if there's nothing to give you more confidence, let's keep that roller coaster up now
00:53rather than going down, you know, because it feels like that's the way he is.
00:58One start is great, the very next start is bad.
01:00Then the very next start is great, the very next start is bad.
01:03Well, all right, Domingo, here's the challenge from inside Dave here on the Rad.
01:07Two perfect games in a row.
01:08Well, no!
01:09You've heard it here first.
01:10That's Davey Mack's special call.
01:12He demands you do two in a row.
01:14No, I shan't ask that.
01:16Because it's going to be down.
01:17The next one's going to be down a little bit.
01:19There was a guy.
01:19What was his name?
01:20I wish I could look it up.
01:22Johnny Vanderbeek did two perfect games in a row?
01:26Yeah, no.
01:27Two no-hitters, though.
01:28Oh, okay.
01:28Johnny Vandermeer.
01:30That was the guy.
01:31He threw in, yeah, that's Johnny Vandermeer in like the 19,
01:35it looks like about to be the 40s.
01:38Vandermeer?
01:38Is this just some sort of bad Seinfeld poll you're about to poll here?
01:41Look at him.
01:42He played for the Cincinnati Reds.
01:44I'm pretty damn amazing.
01:45I'm Johnny Vandermeer.
01:47Vandermeer.
01:47Look at it.
01:49I want you to recognize that I'm not lying.
01:52He's not lying.
01:53By the way, I'm actually just discovering that Johnny Vandermeer is from Prospect Park, New Jersey.
01:58Get out of town.
01:59No.
02:00The only player in the history of baseball to throw back-to-back no-hitters.
02:04I take it back, Dave.
02:05You can be my latex hill.
02:06That's why they call me the sportsmaster.
02:09I just pulled Johnny Vandermeer out of my you-know-what.
02:12Right out of his.
02:13But I will keep an eye on Domingo Hermann as far as how about just the next start, seven innings, two runs.
02:21Something good, something good.
02:22Seven innings, two runs.
02:24All right.
02:24I'm not asking for the world.
02:25And you know what?
02:26The Yankees need a little spark, right?
02:28Yes.
02:28This was it.
02:29This absolutely.
02:31And I do agree.
02:32That was, even though, you know, the spark that they need is offensively because their pitching has actually been good this year again.
02:39Just like last year.
02:41Weirdly enough, last year and this year, their pitching has been really solid and they can't hit.
02:47But, yeah, hopefully this is the spark there.
02:49So, the Yankees.
02:51And, you know, Stanton hit a home run in the game.
02:53So, a good win for the Yankees overall.
02:5511 runs.
02:5644 and 36 now is their record.
02:59Meanwhile, the Mets lost to the Brewers, 5-2.
03:05And after the game, this is what we've been waiting for.
03:08Mets owner Steve Cohen expressed frustration.
03:12Uh-oh.
03:12Suggested that if the team doesn't turn it around, he might do trade deadline sell-offs.
03:19Oh.
03:19Just start selling off all these guys.
03:22Reduce his costs and circle the wagons.
03:26All is, quote, all is not lost yet, but it's getting late.
03:30I'm preparing my management team for all possibilities.
03:33If they don't get better, we have decisions to make at the trade deadline.
03:37Wow.
03:38How about that?
03:38Okay.
03:39So, Cohen now is officially holding their feet to the fire.
03:42He's talking to the players.
03:43Yeah, because the Mets, it's the opposite of the Yankees.
03:46They're 36 and 44, eight games under .500.
03:49The Phillies, they're actually playing good baseball right now.
03:52They took down the Cubs 8-5 behind three homers by Phillies hitters.
03:56And the Phillies are now 42 and 37 playing good baseball.
04:00Football, several NFL players are expected to receive season-long suspensions for gambling.
04:09This is going to be a real thing.
04:11I mean, NFL is preparing for a real scandal right now.
04:15Among them is Indianapolis Colts superstar cornerback and kick returner Isaiah Rogers.
04:20Rogers is one of the first guys who's being investigated for placing bets on Colts games.
04:25Again, same thing that Pete Rose got banned for life from baseball.
04:30They're doing it in the NFL with these online apps.
04:33Oh, boy.
04:33Straight up.
04:34So, this is a real issue.
04:37You got trouble.
04:38I agree.
04:39And then, finally, NBA.
04:41The NBA released the full collective bargaining agreement.
04:45Both sides have agreed.
04:47So, no strike, no lockout for the NBA.
04:50July 1st will begin free agency and they will have a seven-year contract to work going forward.
04:56That is your quick look at sports.
04:58All right.
04:58We will do news.
