00:00A woman in Oklahoma was just rescued after floating on an air mattress in Oklahoma Lake
00:13for two days, but it's not summer weather there, it's freezing.
00:19Why is she on?
00:20Why?
00:21I don't know, some reporter dressed as a ghost is going to wear us.
00:23Yeah, she's dressed like the chick from Star Wars Mon Moth.
00:26Star Wars?
00:28She's going to tell us all about it.
00:30We're here from KTRE-TV.
00:31Launch into hyperspace.
00:33Can we hear it, Chuck?
00:34Let's hear it if we can.
00:35Oh, yeah, let's hear it.
00:35Look at that.
00:36HP says it all started when a man and a woman were trying to use an air mattress as a raft
00:41to get out to a boat on Lake Texoma.
00:43Fast forward to yesterday, train conductor Christian Sosa and train engineer Justin Luster
00:48were on their normal train route from Medill to Irving, Texas, when they came across a
00:52woman flailing her arms and screaming for help holding an air mattress.
00:55She told them she had been floating on it for two days in Lake Texoma in this freezing weather.
01:03Well, naturally, we kind of just thought maybe she was delirious and really didn't know what
01:07really happened.
01:08And it wasn't until we got to the crossing where a hybrid woman had come and come out
01:15to come find out her story was accurate.
01:16You know, she had been floating on that air mattress for a solid day or two.
01:21She was like literally laying on the ground waving one arm, basically her left arm, the
01:27one that, you know, her arm wasn't stuck with her jacket and she was asking for help.
01:32Sosa says he approached the woman who told him she was separated from her significant
01:36other two days earlier on Lake Texoma.
01:39She had no recollection of time.
01:40She had said she'd been there for almost two days hiding under an air mattress.
01:46Luster and Sosa say the woman identified herself as Connie to them and they called 911 immediately.
01:52Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the woman started at Ranger Station and floated nearly two miles
01:57on an air mattress by herself before floating to land and finding her way to the railroad tracks.
02:01Where's the guy?
02:02So her stuff started like drifting away.
02:05So she tried to, I don't know, I guess, catch him.
02:07And before she knew it, she was on top of her air mattress and she was adrift and there
02:14was nothing she could do.
02:15And she ended up by the rocks.
02:16So he's dead.
02:17He's dead.
02:19And Bryan County EMS took her to the hospital to be treated.
02:22Oklahoma Highway Patrol say she started with the man at the lake, but he was able to get
02:26to shore and get to a house to stay warm.
02:28If it sounds like there's more to this story, OHP says there probably is and they're still
02:33working to get answers.
02:34So he got to shore and doesn't call anyone?
02:36And he didn't do anything.
02:37He let her float on an air mattress on a winter lake for two days?
02:41I get it.
02:42You're done.
02:43You're done.
02:44Right?
02:44Like, relationship over.
02:45Wow.
02:46Did she like fall asleep and then he pushed it out onto the lake?
02:49Is she trying to kill her?
02:50Maybe.
02:51It is wild that you could.
02:53Connie.
02:54That's the only way they would identify her.
02:55Connie, that's all we know about it.
02:56Connie, what did you get up to?
02:58They pushed me out to sea.
03:00Connie, no.
03:01Connie, are you frozen on half of your shot?
03:03Yeah, absolutely.
03:04It's been two days on this horrifying lake.
03:07You can't move like half of your body.
03:08Nope.
03:09Luckily, I'd store it up for the winter and I'm a pretty big girl.
03:13Yeah.
03:13It's amazing.
03:14There's no damage.
03:16It's like she kept an eternal body temperature somehow of 97 in the middle of this.
03:21I run hot.
03:22Yeah.
03:23I run hot.
03:24All the ice around her is melted.
03:26There was a fog report, I'm sure, the other day because all the ice that melted around me created all this fog.
03:32She put, we noticed it.
03:34Ahoy!
03:37Look at being a ship horn.
03:43Bastard, push me out to the middle of the lake.
03:45It's just very weird to be on a full bed mattress and floating up.
03:49It's almost like they were sleeping beside the lake or something and then he was like.
03:56Hey!
03:57Ahoy!
03:59I'm frozen solid to myself.
04:02The only wave with the one arm there.
04:06Just don't keep honking the horn.
04:07Somebody do something.
04:08There's some kind of sea monster, sir.
04:11I'm not a monster.
04:12Some kind of sea creature is down there.
04:16I'm a lady named Connie.
04:18Is it a mermaid?
04:20No, no.
04:21There's no chance this is a mermaid.
04:24Bummer.
04:25This is like a thing that eats mermaids.
04:27I'm a potential murder victim.
04:29Oklahoma, I'm a mermaid eater.
04:32I can't, I can't, look.
04:34Ahoy!
04:37Jesus.
04:38It might be a woman.
04:39Should we impart this to the authorities?
04:42I don't think so.
04:45I think she's fine out here.
04:46Stop looking at me to help!
04:49She looks fine.
04:51I think we keep going on this one, boys.
04:53Alright.
04:53Full speed ahead!
04:54Full speed ahead, Captain.
04:55Ignore you all my money here!
04:56That's Captain!
04:57Full speed ahead.
04:59Hey, there's a guy swimming feverishly to shore over there.
05:03Must be your husband.
05:04I'll keep blasting this horn.
05:11It's not doing any good.
05:14Hypothermia's setting in pretty, pretty good.
05:17God.
05:18Looks like some kind of sea creature that's half frozen to itself.
05:21You know what they don't tell you is that the people that come to help you just watch you.
05:24They just stare at you in the middle there.
05:27Quick, take a picture and put it on Twitter.
05:28Yeah.
05:29See if I can get a, uh, it's hard to get her all in one shot.
05:32Ahoy!
05:38What else do you say?
05:38I think it's battle cry is ahoy.
05:41Is that a, it's a battle cry or a mating call?
05:44I think it's a mating.
05:44It's like a, like a sea lion or something.
05:47Is it a manatee?
05:49I don't think we have those in these parts, but it's freezing here.
05:53I think it'd be dead.
05:54Maybe a swim of the Mississippi River.
05:56I've heard about sharks that do that.
05:57I know.
05:58I'm a human.
05:59It's hard to tell.
06:00It's really hard to put this together.
06:02Like you, I'm a human being.
06:04Connie.
06:05Connie's the best.
06:06I lived a whole Connie line.
06:10Jeez, I mean, we, turn, start turning right.
06:13It's getting, like, a little bit annoying.
06:16Start turning right.
06:17I don't know why.
06:18Hey.
06:18Starboard, boys.
06:19Yeah.
06:20Starboard.
06:20I'm starboard.
06:21Worst rescue ever.
06:24Hey, I have to ahoy.
06:25I thought I heard something, but, I think she, it said something about Chips Ahoy.
06:34I love those cookies.
06:35I know.
06:35But chewy ones are the best.
06:37She obviously loves them, too.
06:39You think she has them?
06:40No.
06:41Chips Ahoy.
06:42That was just, that was just a gasp.
06:47That was a gasp.
06:48Yeah, that's not even a gasp.
06:49That was Connie.
06:50Oh, I thought it was a horse.
06:51Oh, what's that smell?
06:52It must be a rotten fish.
06:54I think whatever it is, it's dead.
06:56Yeah.
06:56I'll leave some fish dying around me.
06:57It's eating raw fish right now.
07:01Oh, my God.
07:03Somebody help.
07:04Looks like Gollum.
07:05He just sits there and stares.
07:09Yeah, I love rescuers that just look at each other.
07:12Yeah.
07:12Binoculars.
07:13Yeah, that's it.
07:15Ahoy!
07:16She's fine.
07:17You know what?
07:17She's not really.
07:20She's like waving at us.
07:21Hey!
07:21SOS!
07:22How are you?
07:23SOS!
07:25Ignore that thing.
07:26Look over there.
07:27There's a bikini babe and a water ski.
07:29She might.
07:30Oh.
07:31It may be a Cuban or something.
07:33I don't know what that means, though.
07:37SOS!
07:38SOS!
07:40Bonjour!
07:42What are you speaking that way?
07:43French?
07:44I don't know.
07:44I don't know.
07:46I can't tell what's going on down there.
07:48Poor Connie.
07:49Poor Connie.
07:50Two days.
07:51She's trying to find love on a mattress.
07:53No.
