00:00Let's play Plead the Fifth with Orlando and the Freak Show on Wild 94.1.
00:14Hooked up by 1-800-ASK-ARRIE. Now, who's taking the stand?
00:19Hi, it's me. It's O.
00:21Getting ready to get it in with the guys in here asking their inappropriate questions.
00:26That's the plan.
00:26You got three of them coming from the room and three coming from you guys.
00:30I get one pass and one boomerang to send back to the room.
00:34Dobby is clockwise number one.
00:36I shall begin.
00:38Orlando.
00:39Yes, you shall.
00:41Oh, we had a whole long, pretty much day-long discussion about the woman that you met, Martin Luther King Parade.
00:49And after that, we kind of just dropped it.
00:51I want to know, is there like an update?
00:54Have you guys seen each other?
00:55Did you decide to not pursue this?
00:58People want to know.
01:01It's a good first question.
01:02Wow.
01:03Out the gate, really?
01:04Yeah, yeah.
01:04Et tu, Brute?
01:05Really?
01:07Okay.
01:08So, I mean, I posted up pictures from a birthday party dinner that I kind of crashed there with all of her friends and stuff.
01:17So, I mean, we have seen each other.
01:19There hasn't been like a date or anything.
01:22I think somebody wrote under the Facebook thing.
01:24We're all invested now.
01:25We're following.
01:26Don't think we ain't watching.
01:27You know, and they were like, was this a date or mini date?
01:29Was it, you know, and it wasn't a date.
01:31Did you guys arrive separately or together?
01:33Yeah.
01:33I arrived, I went separately.
01:37Okay.
01:37All right.
01:38Like, what do you mean?
01:40Well, together it seems more date-ish.
01:42Right.
01:42Yeah, no.
01:43It wasn't, I mean, I got a chance to meet all her friends or whatever, but they were at a dinner for like hours before I even had like, you know, pulled up.
01:51Okay.
01:52So, I just kind of, like I said, I literally crashed it.
01:55And?
01:55And a bunch of people came through there.
01:57Like, it was just a party.
01:59Like, 30, it was like 30 people that was coming through there in and out.
02:02I was just one of many.
02:03Okay.
02:03But it wasn't a date.
02:05All right.
02:05And, I mean, we have communicated or whatever.
02:08I just got the number like a couple of days ago.
02:12Like, you know, she's like, hey, we keep talking on Instagram.
02:15Here's my number.
02:16Same thing.
02:16Or whatever.
02:17I feel like we're not answering the question.
02:18He just keeps all talking about other stuff, but we're just waiting for it.
02:21What's the answer?
02:22He asked, was it a date?
02:24I said, no.
02:25I was just saying, like, if there's something.
02:27You said, what's the update?
02:28And I'm like, that was kind of open-ended.
02:30Is this something we're pursuing?
02:31I mean, I'm not pursuing anything.
02:33I mean, we just, we kind of, I don't know the person.
02:36Like, when y'all went off.
02:38Yeah.
02:38I didn't know her.
02:40Like, I mean, we had just met at the thing, so we hadn't even had a conversation.
02:43Y'all had a full-on broadcast on the air, and there was no conversation had yet.
02:49Gotcha.
02:49So, you know, and I mean, and still, it's like, you know, not, I don't know what to
02:54say other than, because y'all do know, we don't necessarily do this.
02:58Right.
02:58Like, if this was somebody, if this was somebody I was trying to highlight, this would ruin
03:03it.
03:03Yeah.
03:03Just to let you know.
03:04Like, I mean, because this is why we kind of don't do this.
03:06Yeah.
03:06It's hard to find people that can put up with what we do for a living.
03:09Well, or just air them out.
03:10We've never aired anybody out on the air, and I'm like, when did we start doing this?
03:14I feel like I've been aired out a lot.
03:16Yeah, I feel like we air out on people all the time.
03:20That's what we do for a living.
03:22So, yeah, there's nothing going on.
03:24I mean, I got to meet some dope friends of hers, and I got to meet her daughter at that
03:29dinner, because everybody was sliding through.
03:31And, I mean, definitely fine, and, you know, we'll see.
03:35But ain't nothing going on right now.
03:37All right.
03:38Okay.
03:38Good update.
03:39All right, Orlando, so here's my question.
03:41I have the best interest in this show, as I do many other morning shows here in the
03:47building.
03:48Okay.
03:48I want to know your thoughts on technology and your show.
03:53Is there a point where you're going to want to live stream daily?
03:57Oh, damn.
03:58Ooh.
03:59This is news?
04:00I mean.
04:01Because it's kind of coming up from the big dogs in the building.
04:04One of our shows, we're already streaming their whole four hours.
04:07They're, like, beta testing it to see how they like it.
04:09They are.
04:10I don't like it.
04:11But it came up in conversation that if it goes well with them, we're going to move on
04:14to your side of the building.
04:16What are your thoughts on that?
04:17Oh, my goodness.
04:18Oh, my goodness.
04:18I mean, wow.
04:20This is a thing.
04:22We have had that conversation.
04:23I think we're different because we play music, and it's hard to live stream somebody with
04:30music because publishing issues come into play.
04:32If we're, like, I mean, any time we have music up and we're having a conversation while the
04:39music's playing or whatever and you have it in the background, that's a violation.
04:42That's a strike.
04:43That's, you know, so it's harder for us because the show that you're talking about is all
04:46talk.
04:47Yeah.
04:47And, you know, you control your own verbiage.
04:49But it didn't used to be all talk.
04:51And what if they came to you and said, would you like to be all talk?
04:55Nah.
04:55Nah.
04:56I mean, we play music.
04:57I mean, people like to move.
04:58I mean, a lot of the things and benchmarks that we do on this show are music related.
05:02I mean, even when we do karaoke and crazy stuff where Meredith gets to bark at a few
05:07records and stuff, you know, it's funny.
05:09And it's like we're a music-based thing.
05:11So, I don't know about live streaming the whole show because I just think we're, you
05:15know, we're a total show with a whole bunch of other moving parts.
05:19But we'll look at it if corporate wants to look at it.
05:22But we won't be changing the format of the show to fit a video package.
05:26We won't do that.
05:26All right, guys.
05:27We're going live.
05:28In three.
05:30Yeah.
05:31All right.
05:31All right.
05:32Yeah.
05:32Let's go back to you being single.
05:36All the ladies in the Bay Area want to know.
05:39No, they don't.
05:39Yes, they do.
05:40This is you.
05:41This is only you.
05:42I'm here for all the ladies.
05:44How can a single lady get your attention?
05:48What are you looking for?
05:50And what are you absolutely not looking for?
05:52Oh, what am I looking for?
05:58I'm not looking.
06:00You know, I'm looking for peace.
06:02That's what I'm looking for.
06:04I'm choosing non-violence.
06:06No drama.
06:07You know, I mean, I'm looking for peace.
06:09I'm looking for, you know, somebody who is, I'm looking for something that I don't need
06:15to title.
06:16I don't need a girlfriend.
06:17I don't need a fiance boo bae.
06:21I don't need a thing.
06:23I need somebody who is just, I need, I don't need, I don't need, I just would like.
06:30I'm trying to figure out how to word that.
06:32Because I don't want people to think I don't, like.
06:35Like you're open for?
06:36No, I'm open for it, but it's just, it has to be right.
06:40And it has to be like my daughters and all that stuff.
06:43Like, that's a part of me that I'm like, yo, I'm not out here just being reckless.
06:47That's true.
06:47But I'm also not out here trying to find, because people who want, people who are searching
06:52and they find me, they're like, what are you looking for?
06:55Like, you just asked.
06:56And that whole thing about a title, like a girlfriend or something or something, I don't
07:02need any names.
07:03I just want a person, somebody who you can trust, who's a rider, who's, you know, looking
07:08at your best interests or whatever, without all of the extra baggage on it.
07:12Like, you know, if I could find somebody I could just, you know, vibe with, I don't
07:15really need to label them or anything.
07:17It's just like, yo, you my person.
07:18Okay.
07:19And then that person can like breathe and not really get all that, because the drama starts
07:24after that.
07:24Like, I'm your fill in the blank.
07:27Yeah.
07:27And I should be, like, ah, no, no, then I'm jumping off something hot.
07:33I just, I don't want to do that.
07:34Yeah.
07:34So I just, I mean, that's just where I am right now.
07:37I went through a lot of the drama before, so I'm just like still trying to get away from
07:42that.
07:42Gotcha.
07:42Nothing wrong with that.
07:43No, I understand.
07:43So I'm taking my time there.
07:46But that don't mean I can't go out with folks or whatever and have a good time.
07:49I'm just, I'm just not really, you know, built for that right now.
07:52Okay, Orlando, do you like big girls?
07:56Are you interested in dating a thicker girl?
07:59And what's the biggest you've gone?
08:01Am I interested in big girls?
08:12I, um, I mean, not really.
08:17Like, I mean, I love, I have most of my women that I, in my life are bigger.
08:23But I'm like, I don't, I, like, I don't have a preference, I guess.
08:27But I would say that, um, the biggest that I've gone, I mean, we're talking about like
08:32senior year where I hooked up with a girl.
08:35I told y'all the whole backseat thing where it was just messy.
08:38Okay.
08:39You know?
08:39So that was, that was kind of, she was, I mean, she was, she was, she was, she was,
08:43ah.
08:44300.
08:44Yeah, yeah.
08:45She was in the threes?
08:46She was in the high twos.
08:48What kind of car was it?
08:49I had, I had a beautiful Riviera and we was at the spot.
08:54And the transmission was blown out.
08:58Yeah.
08:59That was, that was, I don't know if y'all remember the story where I was like, yo, I was, I was
09:03back there going ham and thinking I was doing work and, and she giggled and I was like, yo,
09:08that kind of hurt my heart.
09:09And then I found out a little bit after some more giggling and whatever, that I was like
09:14an inch and a half to the right of where I was supposed to be.
09:17Oh my goodness.
09:18And it was a fold that I was in.
09:20I was working, I was, I was putting my best work into this fold action.
09:24And, and then, and then by the time I moved the inch and a half over and made it, oh, this
09:30is where I'm supposed to be.
09:31And then she was like, you so silly.
09:33But I was, I had given the best work to the thighs.
09:36I didn't have much more to give.
09:38So, so it was very, it was very, uh, jarring for me.
09:43And I will always remember that, but I, you know.
09:45Was that your first time?
09:46That was my first time with a big girl.
09:48Oh, okay.
09:49Yeah.
09:49I thought I was there.
09:51I mean, between the sweat and the softness, it felt, felt the same.
09:55The fluffy?
09:55Yeah.
09:56So, yeah.
09:57Okay.
09:57All right.
09:58But I'm, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a equal opportunity.
10:00I'm a big dude.
10:01So I just don't think, you know, me and another, like big person seem to be good for any structures.
10:11What's going to happen with the building?
10:13Some guy has some really good shocks.
10:15Am I going to do the text or the floor?
10:17God, Joe, I don't know what you could ask after that one.
10:21What you got?
10:21All right, brother.
10:23I got, so if you, uh, you do most, you do all the hiring as the boss, man.
10:28If you were going to go start your own new show and you can pick an all-star crew to go with you,
10:33even only going back to 98.7 for the morning show, the 10 o'clock slot, the Nuthouse slot,
10:38and the Jody Franchise slot, who would be your, who would be your pick?
10:41If I was going to do another show and then I would, I would have to take all-stars to make that show?
10:46Yeah, so going back from 98.7 to now, who would be your lineup for the morning show?
10:52Uh, the Babs, the Nuthouse, and Joey Franchise slot.
10:55Oh, man.
10:56I mean, honestly, I'm, I think with what we got now, it's pretty fire.
11:01I mean, I definitely would, if I'm doing all-stars, I definitely would bring back our man DJ Trauma.
11:08Just because I, I just, I just missed the homie and, you know, and he was just mad talented.
11:13Um, but as far as, like, I mean, everybody who was here, like, we've had so many people come through.
11:19It's like, so it's that band, Menudo.
11:21Oh, yeah.
11:22Like, when they keep switching out the members.
11:23When they keep switching out the members, it's kind of like that.
11:26Yeah.
11:26Um, but as far as, like, uh, an all-star team, I mean, I'll take our team that we got now of anybody
11:32just because we put in the work.
11:33And, and the, and the ratings show it.
11:35So, I mean, the ratings have been higher now than they've ever been.
11:38So, I definitely wouldn't change that.
11:40Uh, midday, I still think, like, Babs has been killing it.
11:43Like, you know, the midday numbers are higher, too.
11:45So, I'm a numbers guy.
11:46And, uh, afternoons, the same way.
11:49Nuthouse and Joy Franchise, man.
11:51I think, I think we got the ones right now.
11:53Um, but, I mean, shout out to everybody who's been here because we wouldn't be here without
11:57everybody who came before us.
11:59So, I think that would be the ones we got now.
12:03Does that answer your question?
12:04Yes, sir.
12:05I appreciate it, Joe.
12:06Let's see here what we got on the last question.
12:08Out to 813, is there a career mistake that you felt like you did that maybe would have
12:13put you in a better position than you are today in your career?
12:17Ooh, um, a career mistake.
12:20I've, uh, I've been lucky on, like, not making too many of them.
12:25I mean, I made, I made a mistake.
12:29I made a mistake that could have, if it was done now, it probably could have ended my career
12:34because of the whole, like, Me Too, stuff like that.
12:38I made a joke about somebody on the air, which, which I thought was an okay joke, but I was
12:43really just repeating it off TV, like somebody, something I had heard somebody say.
12:47And I won't say what I said, but I basically, I, well, I mean, I called somebody, like, a
12:51lipstick lesbian.
12:52Okay.
12:53And I thought, like, I mean, and I meant because this person would always bring girls around
12:58us and stuff, and we'd be like, yo, like, she was always, she was always surrounded by
13:03girls.
13:03And I loosely used that, but the person took it, like, while you're, you're putting me
13:10in an outed space or whatever, and I ended up outing them, not outing them, but just,
13:15like, it was really bad.
13:17And it ended up with HR, and it ended up with CBS Corporate, and then lawyers came down,
13:23and it was like, I was in meetings for, like, a week, and I was sitting there like, yo, I'm
13:27about to lose my job, you know?
13:29And me and the person are tight to this day, but it was just that conversation on the air
13:36that was just that fast.
13:37It wasn't even a conversation, it was just a comment, but that comment ended up being,
13:41like, crazy, and I almost, almost got, if, I guarantee you, if it happened now, it would
13:46have been any kind of coming back from that.
13:48Nope.
13:49Because it's just not something that you do, and I, and I thought about it, even when
13:52I was sitting there, they were like, do you wish you didn't say it?
13:55I was like, absolutely, because I ain't never met y'all before, and I'm sitting down here
13:59with all the expensive lawyers just mad at me, and I'm like, so, I know I messed up,
14:04or whatever, but I ended up not getting, not getting gas, so, yeah.
14:08That was, that was the mistake, because you never get to, we, we don't have people who
14:11edit our conversations, we say it, and we kind of hold each other accountable, and that,
14:16that made me always now think about what I'm going to say quickly, because quickly can,
14:22can, can knock you out.
14:23Yeah.
14:23That was it.
14:25Um, I guess we have, I, well, that's all of them.
14:28That's it.
14:29I didn't use a pass.
14:30Uh, I don't really have a boomerang.
14:33I think we're good.
14:34That's okay.
14:34We're good.
14:35Yeah.
14:36I don't know.
14:38I mean, because the ones were pretty specific, so, I mean, yeah.
14:41Yeah, they were kind of specific.
14:41You know, so they're hard to, hard to bounce back around, so, I mean, we'll knock it out.
14:45Plead the Fifth is wrapped.
14:46Plead the Fifth.
14:46Plead the Fifth.
14:46Plead the Fifth.
14:46Plead the Fifth.
