At the start of the evening there are clear skies across many parts of England, but it is cloudy elsewhere with area of rainfall over Northern Ireland which also touches western Scotland. As the night goes on the cloud increases in thickness from the east, but clear spells can still be found in western England with some starry skies also emerging in Wales. The rain over Northern Ireland gradually dissipates. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 19/04/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Craig Snell.

00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's
00:03mixed fortunes over the rest of this weekend. For Easter day itself it should
00:07be fairly fine and dry but as we move into Monday we see the return of rain
00:12for most of us. But for Saturday into the early hours of Easter day we still have
00:16some rain actually around for Western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Bales were
00:19a fairly quiet night, we'll have some low cloud moving from the North Sea so
00:23quite a murky end to the night for many eastern areas and potentially some
00:27showers just moving in across the very far southeastern corner. So the clearest of
00:31the skies will be out towards the west so here we could just see a touch of frost
00:34as we start Easter day morning but it's here where we see sunshine from the word
00:38go. Eastern areas as mentioned quite murky but that will gradually burn its way
00:42back towards the North Sea as the morning goes on and any showers in the southeast
00:46also easing as we head towards lunchtime. It's not quite the case for Northern
00:51Ireland and Western Scotland here we continue with the cloudy theme and some
00:54outbreaks of rain and come the afternoon I think the best of the sunshine will be for
00:59eastern Scotland down to Northern England and also parts of Wales. And in the
01:02sunshine feeling pleasant enough we could see highs reaching 16 to 18 degrees but
01:07still feeling quite chilly along the North Sea coast with an onshore flow here so
01:11temperatures struggling here around 10 to 12 degrees for some areas. Moving into the
01:17evening hours the low cloud could return back off from the North Sea and at the same
01:21time further cloud coming in from the west so overall by the end of the night I
01:25think most of us seeing cloudy skies also outbreaks of rain spreading in as the
01:29night goes on so temperatures certainly nowhere near as low as they will be on
01:34Easter day morning so Easter Monday morning maybe just a bit of a frost in
01:39the far north but actually for most of us I think it'll probably be no lower than
01:42around five to seven degrees maybe even standing double figures in a few spots.
01:47And then Easter Monday itself really it's going to be a fairly grey day for most
01:52there will be some breaks in the cloud from time to time but really we're just
01:55watching this area of rain gradually spread its way eastwards across the UK.
01:59We may hang on to the sunshine for most of the day because the very far north east
02:03of Scotland although it will cloud up there later on in the day but then
02:07reversely down towards the very far southwest it will start to cheer up later
02:10on with some sunshine as we end the long bank holiday weekend. Temperatures on
02:15Easter Monday still reaching around 16 to 17 degrees in any brightness but still
02:21quite cool along the eastern seaboard of the UK. But you can find out more
02:26information about the weather where you are over the weekend on our website or on
02:30our app but for me for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
