00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:02It was a much brighter day for many this afternoon, plenty of sunny spells in places but I'm afraid
00:07there is more rain on its way leading to quite a damp start for the Easter bank holiday weekend
00:11for some.
00:12And we'll start to see that change as we head through into this evening and overnight.
00:15An area of low pressure dragging in some clouds, some outbreaks of rain at first across parts
00:20of Devon and Cornwall, Northern Ireland and eventually stretching its way into Wales too.
00:24It could be turning fairly blustery under this area of cloud and rain too with some heavy
00:28outbreaks of rain possible by morning, but elsewhere it's going to be largely dry, plenty
00:32of clear skies.
00:33That means temperatures dipping away though, could be fairly chilly by the morning, perhaps
00:36even seeing some mist and fog in places.
00:39But elsewhere in the west it's going to be a damp start.
00:43And through the course of Good Friday we'll see this area of cloud and rain shift its way
00:48northeastwards.
00:49Once again we could see some quite heavy and blustery outbreaks at times, some quite persistent
00:53rain possibly leading to some travel disruption, possibly even seeing some surface level flooding
00:57as well.
00:58But across the far north and far east it's going to be quite a pleasant day, perhaps
01:02more cloud around than of late, but some sunnier spells across East Anglia for example.
01:07But it is going to be remaining largely dry, fairly mild too across the far southeast,
01:11highs of 17, possibly 18 degrees Celsius.
01:14But where we see the cloud and rain stick around in the west those temperatures are going
01:17to struggle, so feeling a little bit chillier here.
01:21Later on into the evening and overnight we do have a rainfall warning issued for parts of
01:25Devon and Cornwall.
01:26We could see 50 to 75 millimetres here across Dartmoor for example, so do bear that in mind
01:31if you're travelling around for the Easter bank holiday.
01:33But more and more areas are going to start to see this cloud and rain, still a chance
01:36of some heavier outbreaks, but still remaining largely dry across the very far east.
01:41But with more cloud around, temperatures aren't going to dip away quite as low, so it's
01:45going to be a slightly milder night compared to the one on its way.
01:50Now, it's quite a wet start for many areas on Saturday, but the good news is most of the
01:54rain should be fizzling out through the course of the morning.
01:57Still a chance of some heavier outbreaks in western areas, once again across any hills or
02:01high ground.
02:02But by the afternoon, plenty of dry weather to come.
02:05There just might still be a fair amount of clouds, some quite low cloud at times, particularly
02:09across parts of the northwest where there's still a chance of some outbreaks of rain.
02:13But still fairly mild temperatures, perhaps just a degree or two lower in some spots.
02:18Highs of 15, possibly 16 Celsius, but still fairly cool across the far north.
02:23Temperatures just about moving into the double digits here.
02:27Now for the rest of the bank holiday weekend, actually Easter Sunday looks largely dry.
02:32There should be plenty of sunny spells around.
02:34Good news if you're heading out for an Easter egg hunt.
02:36But notice still low pressure, never too far away, moving its way through later Sunday through
02:42into Monday.
02:43But there's still a little bit of uncertainty as towards the direct location and track of this
02:47low.
02:48So that means the area of rain where we see that rain, it could change as we head through
02:51into Monday.
02:52But for more details for the bank holiday weekend, we can join Alex Birkhill here on YouTube.
02:58Otherwise, that's it from me. Bye bye.
