00:08I won't really say so. It was quite some time ago and also we approached it

00:18Recently, Il Giro di Sicilia, then Il Giro d'Abruzzo helped you to build up for the rest of the season.

00:26Do you feel it's the case again this year?

00:28Yes, I think so. I'm not exactly sure why, but every year this time I seem to find my legs.

00:41Yeah, it will be a good test. We just hope the weather plays along.

00:48Who do you think the favourites are?

00:51I've seen some guys here with good legs, so yeah, I don't think I'm the favourite for today

00:57or anywhere close. But yeah, George Bennett has been looking quite good. So yeah, I think he'll be close to the front.

01:05Mattis, you lost a few seconds yesterday. What happened?

01:09Yeah, I crashed in the last corner at 250 meters. I lost the front wheel.

01:14Yeah, I did my job before, so it was good for Marco. He didn't crash behind me, but yeah, I just crashed with nothing special.

01:23How does it change the tactic for today?

01:26Today we are in a good place for the GC with Marco, so yeah, I will ride for him in the last climb.

01:33I feel good. I have good legs, so yeah, we will try to control it for the team. Don't do it.

03:22I hope so. I think, yeah, I mean, hopefully we can put him in a position where he can race the final and

03:29yeah, I think it's a good climb for him and hopefully he can make the difference.

03:33How is UAE Team Emirates? Impressive?

03:37Yeah, I think, yeah, they've bought a strong squad there. I think any race they go to, they have

03:43they have so much strength in depth that they're able to come here and perform. So yeah, hopefully we can

03:50do them over today and get George on the top step.

03:53You started the Giro d'Abruzzo very well. What is your mindset before the Queen stage?

04:01It's been a good race so far. So I hope to continue in that way. And yeah, the mindset is the one to

04:10to keep pushing. Today is the hardest stage and probably the one that will define the GC. So we are ready.

04:17Is it for pure climbers?

04:19Yeah, it's a strange climb because the hardest part is the first part and the last two kilometers are very

04:29steep, but I don't know. It's a strange climb. We will see who will push for the for the climb and how it goes.

04:36What are the different cards to play in your team?

04:39Yeah, we are two guys in top 10 and also Zerai is not far. So hopefully we can play some cards in the

04:47final climb and try to get the maximum result. No fear against the big teams.

06:06kind of stage, so I am happy to be here and I want to start the race. What is your state of mind at the

06:15start of the Queen stage? I feel good. I feel motivated. Also the weather, I like that weather, so yeah,

06:23looking forward for today's stage. Did you get the answers you wanted after the training camp?

06:29Well, I am looking for this answer today, so on the end today it's going to be completely different

06:34and what the efforts we have done the last two days, because on the end last two days it was just

06:38efforts of five, six minutes. Today it's a proper climb, so actually the kind of work that I've been doing

06:44during these weeks in Altitude. And yeah, I'm really looking forward to see how I feel and what I can do

06:50in this final. Spanish media expect a duel between you and Pablo Torres. Do you also see it that way?

06:58I mean, of course, he's really strong, strong rider, racing for a strong team and

07:04and I see that the team is really covering him, so that means that UAE have also a lot of expectations

07:08of him. But there are many other contenders like Brenner, like many other riders like George Bennett, so
