00:00A second day of racing in Il Giro d'Abruzzo and now we move into the Pescara province.
00:09Similar length to stage one and similarly difficult if not harder.
00:13138 kilometres full of climbing from Tocco, the Casauria to a finish, uphill finish in the medieval town of Pene.
00:22Again summery bright sunshine greeting the peloton as they signed on for the start of what would be a dynamic day of racing.
00:31The flag dropped and a very long battle to form the early breakaway of the day started with a number of the Italian continental teams trying to get in a move on a day where potentially the breakaway with a reordered general classification might find an opportunity to ride to victory in Pene.
00:49It would be a day when the World Tour teams would have to concentrate and keep a lid on the ambitions of the lesser teams and they attacked straight away from kilometre zero.
01:0135 kilometres it took before any kind of a breakaway established itself as rider after rider from team after team launched themselves off the front and the peloton was all strung out.
01:12And then eventually on the first categorised climb of the day two riders did go clear including Samuele Zoccherato and Simoni Petilli of Ante Marche Wonti.
01:22They took the first two places over the top of the first super category climb of the race and Zoccherato moved into control of the King of the Roundtons competition.
01:31Spectacular scenery then as UAE team Emirates moved to the front to try and control things for the race leader Alessandro Coghi.
01:40One or two riders with mechanical difficulties at the back of the peloton including Filippo Dayuto.
01:49And still Petelli and Zoccherato had a 30 second lead as they headed for the next climb of the day.
01:57Q36.5's Damien Housen launched off the front and through the intermediate sprint.
02:02Stevie Williams just got there ahead of Damien Housen to deny him the one extra bonus second in the general classification.
02:11That was it then for Simoni Petilli. Zoccherato was left up front all on his own with the ambition remaining of taking the last categorised climb before the finish line.
02:21The Forca di Penne and adding five points to his tally and firmly in control of the King of the Mountains competition.
02:27Moved off the front to pick up the minor placings in the King of the Mountains competition.
02:33And trouble as well for one or two riders at the back of the bunch as UAE team Emirates had control and then there was a moment of difficulty for the rider in the white jersey.
02:46Alessandro Fancelo who had to chase back on and managed to get back into the peloton, the rider in the white jersey.
02:52Zoccherato is still off the front and Zolo distanced in the King of the Mountains competition.
02:58He would be surrendering his lead to the man from Palti Visit Malta who was eventually caught with 16 kilometres to go on the descent of the final uncategorised climb.
03:08It was his team Palti Visit Malta who then went to the front.
03:11There was a big attack that came off the front from a rider from the Biese Carrera team.
03:19And Palti Carmeta then restoring order.
03:24Three kilometres to go.
03:25They were still on the front and they would take it a long way up the climb before Ivo Oliveira of UAE team Emirates with around about 1500 metres to go.
03:35Launched off the front.
03:36Blasted clear.
03:37Georg Zimmermann of Anto Marche tried to peg him back but the Portuguese held on to win by four seconds.
03:44A brilliant solo victory.
03:45A rare win for Ivo Oliveira.
03:47The domestique from UAE team Emirates.
03:50The team made it two wins in two.
03:52Filippo Fiorelli picked up another second place behind him.
03:56But Oliveira delighted to take the victory.
03:59A fourth career win ahead of Fiorelli and Marco Brenna in third place.
04:04All those riders picking up bonus seconds.
04:06And those bonus seconds propelled Filippo Fiorelli to the lead of the general classification.
04:11At least for a day ahead of Alessandro Covey.
04:14Fiorelli also leading the points standings by just one point.
04:20And a change in the King of the Mountains as Zoccarato moves into the blue jersey.
04:24And a change as well in the white jersey.
04:27Marco Brenna courtesy of his time bonus at the finish line in the white jersey going into stage three.
04:33.
04:42So I'm going to move on to the next one.
04:47.
