Tahawwur Rana, one of the prime accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is being extradited to India today from the United States. A joint team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and intelligence agency RAW is bringing Rana to Delhi in a special flight. Once he lands at Delhi’s Palam Airport, he will be officially arrested by the NIA and taken to its headquarters in a bulletproof vehicle. His medical check-up will be conducted before his appearance in Patiala House Court. Rana, a former Pakistani army personnel, is expected to face detailed interrogation by the NIA. Agencies aim to uncover crucial information such as his role in planning the attack, his links with ISI handlers, funding sources for the 26/11 attack, and his connections with David Headley and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Rana had moved to Canada after leaving the Pakistani army, and intelligence reports suggest he continued supporting terror operations through businesses and logistical networks. Heavy security has been deployed outside the NIA headquarters in Delhi. The agencies are focusing on Rana's suspected role as a key link in the broader terror ecosystem involving Pakistan’s ISI and global terror funding routes. His interrogation is expected to provide vital insights into the planning and execution of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
