00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:07close to the house where I'm staying this week for the 89th Masters and just to try
00:18and show you that this area is still recovering after being hit just under 200 days ago by
00:28Hurricane Helene. The storm, one of the worst to hit this region, claimed 11 lives, 400
00:37homes were totally destroyed, lots of others partially damaged and all around the city
00:45there are still scars from that storm. Augusta National, lots of trees were brought down,
00:55no number has been put on that, but it's certainly evident that areas have been thinned
01:02out, around the 16th Green in particular, trees came down there and that's resulted
01:08in the Green having to be rebuilt and although it won't really show up in the TV coverage,
01:16there are certainly certain areas that have changed quite a bit due to the storm. No storms
01:25on the way this week, however, some wet weather is going to hit the area on Monday and on the
01:33basis of that, the gates will not open on schedule on Monday morning, neither will the car parks,
01:42the fans will be updated first thing in the morning and that of course is probably going
01:49to have an impact as players start the build up to the season's first major. To keep up to
01:56date with everything about the 89th Masters, log on to Scotsman.com or buy the Scotsman.
