Transcript
00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman golf correspondent here coming to you from
00:07the first tee at the Renaissance Club where the Genesis Scottish Open will be held in
00:13July and this is the shot that the players will face when they step on the first tee
00:19here. It's quite a strong par 4 to start and the course is shaping up really well for the
00:28latest edition of the Rolex Series event here. The field is going to be headed by defending
00:34champion Rory McIlroy. He finished birdie-birdie last year to pip Scotland's Bob McIntyre.
00:41McIntyre used that performance to get into the Ryder Cup team in Rome and along with
00:47McIlroy, John Ramp, Tyrell Hatton and others, he helped Europe win that trophy back. McIlroy,
00:55he's going to be defending the title in July and McIntyre, who's playing most of his golf
01:01this year at the moment on the PGA Tour in the States, he's going to be back here on
01:06home soil. Looking forward to that already and he'll be doing his best to try and go
01:11one better than last July. Another top class field going to be assembled here in the summer.
01:18Two-time PGA champion Justin Thomas, he's going to be here. Other members of that European
01:25Ryder Cup team, they're going to include Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and some more big name
01:31Americans to be announced in the coming few weeks. The American owners, they've put a lot of money
01:37into this place, really invested in improving the golf course since it hosted this event for
01:44the first time in 2019. To keep up to date with everything about the Genesis Scottish Open and
