00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:06the Renaissance Club in East Lothian, where the second round of the Genesis Scottish Open
00:15has been completed.
00:17Wonderful weather here at the Renaissance Club for that second day action.
00:24The sun was out from mid-morning onwards and with no wind, the course was there for the
00:33taking.
00:34Spaniard Alejandro Del Rey shot a best of the day 62.
00:40He was the last man into the field to take the most of that opportunity and he's now
00:45in the reckoning for the three open spots that are up for grabs in this event.
00:51Pride of place over the first two days has gone to world number four Ludwig Eberg.
00:58He's shot two 64s, very impressive indeed, even allowing for the benign conditions and
01:04on 12 under par, he leads by a shot from Antoine Rosner, the Frenchman.
01:10Defending champion Rory McIlroy, he's lurking ominously on the leaderboard, just three shots
01:15back and one further back is Bob McIntyre, who finished running up to McIlroy 12 months
01:24ago.
01:25Here at the sixth hole behind me, McIntyre raised what was by far the loudest roar of
01:32the week at what they've dubbed the Stadium Hole here this week.
01:38He rolled in a birdie putt and the noise really was heard a long way around this property.
01:47Bob described it as a bit of a goose bump moment and that's certainly going to fuel
01:54him over the weekend as he bids to go one better than last year.
02:01Two other Scots, Conor Sime and Grant Forrester, are through to the weekend and they're among
02:07the players who have an added incentive to really go low in the final 36 holes and get
02:15themselves in the hunt for the three open spots and be at Troon next week.
