00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:07sunny Scotland. It's turned a bit chilly this week, but very bright conditions for anyone
00:17out there playing some winter golf. The 2024 DP World Tour season finished on Sunday, with
00:26Rory McIlroy claiming a sixth Race to Dubai title to move level with Sebi Ballesteros and now just
00:34two behind Colin Montgomery. Just four days later, the 2025 season gets underway in Australia with
00:44the BMW PGA Championship in Adelaide, where Richie Ramsey and David Law, two Aberdonians,
00:53have made a long journey. Ramsey, he's starting early this year after missing out on the two
01:02play-off events in the Middle East. He's described the season as a rollercoaster year and he'll be
01:08aiming to get off to a flyer, while Law just missed out on retaining his card through the
01:15Race to Dubai, then also came up just short in the qualifying school in Spain. Other events this
01:23week include the RSM Classic in Georgia, the final event of the 2024 PGA Tour calendar year,
01:32and Scotland's Martin Laird. He starts out in 152nd in the FedEx Cup fall list and needs to
01:41climb into the top 125 to retain a full card or be in the top 150 to gain conditional status for
01:50next year. Unfortunately, Gemma Dreyber, she's missed out on the LPGA Tour season-ending CME Tour
01:58Globe Championship in Florida this week, top 60 involved in that. Gemma finished 79th on the
02:06points list after the final regular event. Elsewhere, Steven Gallagher, who recently turned 50, he's
02:14taking part in a Stage 1 event for the Champions Tour qualifying school and shared the lead after
02:23a five-under-par opening round in California, with David Drysdale already having come through
02:29his first stage test in the battle for just five cards in Arizona in a fortnight's time. To keep up
02:37to date with everything in the golf world, log on to Scotsman.com or buy the Scotsman.
