00:00We will now look at the latest news on KTV.
00:08The Department of Market Workers recently released the 17 Filipinos arrested in Qatar.
00:15According to KTNW Secretary Hans Layokakdak, 12 of them are male prisoners while 5 of them are female.
00:24Under the law of Qatar, a prison sentence of up to 3 years and a fine of up to Php 50,000 are possible for those who violated the illegal assembly there.
00:35The DMW assured that it is ready to provide legal assistance to the 17 Filipinos while the investigation continues.
00:45I would like to remind our fellow Filipinos to follow the law of the host country.
00:52As I said earlier, a prisoner can be arrested in Qatar.
00:57But remember, there is no need to arrest someone so that they will not follow the law of the host country.
01:09Because in some countries, the reaction of the host country is monitoring surveillance of activities of the Filipino community.
01:21So we really need to be careful, double careful, triple careful, because we need to follow the law of the host country.
01:29And I will also be the first to say, OFWs are ready to follow the law of the host country.
01:39We have always been good citizens, residents of host countries.
01:43That's why we became famous in the whole world.
01:45So we are very confident and sure that our OFWs will continue to comply with host country rules, laws, and regulations.
01:56The Department of Information and Communications Technology is assisting in providing free Wi-Fi to State Universities and Colleges.
02:04Under the Free Public Internet Access Program, 200 State Universities and Colleges are expected to benefit from the project.
02:14These include the SUCs in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and other SUCs in Visayas and Mindanao.
02:26More than 2,000 people have been arrested for violating the Khamenei Gun Ban.
02:31According to the PNP, most of these people are civilians, foreigners, some government officials, and law enforcement agencies.
02:39In total, more than 2,000 guns have been confiscated in the implementation of the gun ban.
02:47Meanwhile, several candidates for midterm elections are continuing their campaign.
02:51In Quezon City, the Ako-Ilocano-Ako Party List was held by the Proclamation Rally.
02:57According to the Ako-Ilocano-Ako Party List Representative Richelle Singson,
03:03they will focus on the needs of the affected sectors, such as the construction sector,
03:09medical assistance, insurance, and retirement plan.
03:12The alliance of the new Philippine Senatorial Candidate and former Senator Panfilo Lacson is also part of the activity.
03:21And those are the news for this time.
