After Liverpool’s quiet transfer window, the first with new boss Arne Slot, was no secret, with many posing questions on whether the right amount of depth was available for them to do well throughout different competitions this season, whilst keeping the core of the side ready to compete.

00:00Just on Liverpool and their squad depth, obviously it was no secret they had such a small transfer
00:08window, the first under Arnie Schlott. What sort of difference has that made having such
00:14a small group and is there worries going into their squad depth ahead of this huge campaign?
00:21Liverpool released their squad picture for 24-25 this morning and I counted all the players
00:28on there because I did think that looks quite thin. And lo and behold, 24 first-team players
00:36are on the photo and that's including three goalkeepers and Tyler Morton, who has spent
00:43the last two campaigns in the Championship on loan at Blackburn Rovers and Hull City
00:48respectively. Is he firmly in Arnie Schlott's plan? He's only made one sub appearance so
00:55far. Maybe that's because of the injuries, because he has been healthy to date. Only
01:00Harvey Elliott is the one who has serious injuries. Howard Noonan has missed a ball
01:04of game with illness. There is competition all over the pitch. There's probably two players
01:11for every position when you assess the squad, especially with Federico Chiesa coming in
01:20to maybe bolster that right wing role, give Mo Salah a little bit of respite. But if injuries
01:28bite, do Liverpool have the cover then? Because they're going to pick up injuries. That's
01:33a given. It happens every season. Arnie Schlott has defended his injury record. He said the
01:40article is one of a fire north and he hasn't rotated a lot, but he's brought players off
01:47so far in his reign. But it will be difficult when Liverpool are playing difficult teams
01:52twice a week. When they're playing a tough game in the Premier League and then they've
01:56got Real Madrid or Violator Coups in the Champions League and maybe go deeper in the other competitions
02:03as well, then they will have to balance things. Because there aren't a lot of youngsters or
02:09really highly rated youngsters left at the club. A lot of them went on loan. If the
02:17some of the attackers pick up injuries, say Jota, who has had his injury problems in the past,
02:23and say Luis Diaz was out for a bit or Colin Gappo was a bit, is there enough depth there
02:30to make changes consistently? Does Arnie Schlott look for different solutions and squads?
02:38He played Dominic Subbos in favour of the pitch. I'm sure that these things have been planned,
02:44but the squad depth maybe is just a little bit thin because Liverpool took the decision to loan
02:51the better youngsters out with a view to that working in the long term, which I can understand.
