00:00There's still a bit of a chill in the air at the moment and through today there'll be plenty of sunny spells but also plenty of showers around.
00:07However, by the weekend things are looking quite a bit drier. That's because we have high pressure building in from the west.
00:13That's going to help clear many of those showers away.
00:16Before all that though, through today, yes, sunny spells and showers for many of us.
00:20The showers most frequent initially across eastern areas but they are going to become a bit more widespread across many parts of England and Wales as we go through into the afternoon.
00:29Across Northern Ireland and much of Scotland away from the far east.
00:33It's actually looking largely dry here with some sunny spells and even elsewhere in between the showers there will be some decent sunny breaks as well.
00:41Despite these though, still a bit of a chilly feel to things. Temperatures are a bit below average for the time of year.
00:47Most places getting into high single figures. Perhaps just about scraping into double digits towards Cornwall perhaps.
00:53But most places, yeah, feeling a little bit chilly still.
00:56A few more showers to come across parts of England and Wales as we go through this evening and the start of the night.
01:01But with that high pressure pushing its way in, we are going to see a lot of those showers dying out.
01:06Although some continuing towards some eastern coastal parts.
01:09Otherwise, there will be some clear skies. The skies will clear quite nicely as we go through the night.
01:14But with that then, the chilly air, the clear skies, we are going to see temperatures taking a bit of a drop.
01:19Especially across northern parts. Here it is going to be colder, similar to some recent nights.
01:23We could see temperatures dropping as low as minus 5, maybe minus 6 in some prone rural spots.
01:28So a bit of frost quite likely. Even some icy patches where we have any wet surfaces left over from the showers earlier on.
01:35Further south, not quite so cold. But nonetheless, rural spots away from the towns and cities, a bit of frost is quite likely.
01:43Even a touch of frost perhaps in more built up areas first thing tomorrow morning.
01:47Then through tomorrow, yes, it is going to be drier. Not totally dry. There will be a few showers here or there.
01:53Some eastern coastal parts perhaps and one or two pushing their way further westwards.
01:57And even Orkney and Shetland actually seeing quite a bit of cloud and some outbreaks of rain.
02:01Maybe the far north of mainland Scotland as well seeing a bit of rain too.
02:05Most places though having a drier day and a decent amount of sunshine on offer too.
02:10Generally light winds as well away from the far southeast and the far north.
02:14And so with that, although temperatures may only be a degree or so higher than today, with a bit more sunshine on offer, fewer showers,
02:21it will probably feel a little bit more pleasant for many of us.
02:24Now after another cold and perhaps frosty night as we go into Sunday, Sunday itself largely dry for many of us.
02:30But it is going to turn gradually cloudier from the north and the northeast as we go through the day.
02:35And with that, the cloud will be thick enough for some outbreaks of rain.
02:38So a bit of rain pushing its way in, particularly across northern parts further south and west.
02:42You are greater chance you have of staying dry through much of the day.
02:45But for every or for everyone, it is going to turn increasingly cloudy.
02:49So a bit less sunshine on offer, temperatures on paper similar to Saturday, really maybe a touch higher in some places.
02:56But with less sunshine on offer, perhaps that will counteract the slight rise in temperatures.
03:02As we go through next week, however, there will be a rise in our temperatures.
03:06It may feel a little bit more spring-like at times.
03:08Definitely one to keep on top of. I'll see you later.
