00:00Hi there and welcome to the Met Office weekend weather forecast. Just like last
00:04weekend higher pressure will bring plenty of dry and bright weather this
00:07weekend but unlike last weekend there'll be a lot more cloud in the sky and
00:10temperatures will be around seven or even eight degrees lower widely across
00:14the country because we've got the winds coming in from the north and northwest.
00:18We've had that through the week it's been a cold week but actually as the
00:21high builds in this weekend those winds will ease nevertheless it's going to be
00:25a frosty start to Saturday especially because northern parts of the UK a bit
00:28more cloud further south leading to a more patchy frost and one or two light
00:32showers a few spits and spots of rain across southern parts first thing
00:36Saturday. Also we do have some showers arriving into the north of Scotland
00:40these more numerous compared with the showers elsewhere but for much of the UK
00:46there'll be some fair weather cloud building so not entirely blue skies
00:50nevertheless it will be dry it'll be bright and with lighter winds it's not
00:55going to feel as chilly as it has done even if temperatures are significantly
00:58lower compared with the same time last week. High pressure then sits close to if
01:04not over the UK throughout Sunday. A number of weather fronts will push
01:08thicker cloud in from the north and that means less of a frost across northern
01:13parts of the UK as we begin Sunday. In the south we will see a widespread frost
01:17but that's where the brightest skies will be particularly for the far south
01:20and southwest we keep the sunshine here until at least lunchtime whilst a
01:24fair amount of cloud is drifting southwards throughout the day bringing a
01:29few showers again northern Scotland prone to these showers but also parts of
01:33eastern and central England perhaps the odd shower drifting into East Wales but
01:39for many it's another fine and bright day even if it is increasingly cloudy and
01:44certainly cloudier compared with Saturday. Temperatures below average 9
01:48to 11 Celsius. Then heading into next week we're going to see again a change
01:54in wind direction and as the high drifts away to the east we're likely to see
01:59increasingly higher temperatures by the end of the week but also increasingly
02:04showery weather eventually coming in from the west.
