00:00President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. personally visited and observed the construction of the Tabagan-Santa Maria Bridge in Isabela.
00:09The President assured that all officials involved in the construction of the bridge will be held accountable.
00:17Kenneth Paciente of PTV Manila in Balitang Pambansa Live. Kenneth.
00:31Yes Alan, President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. personally inspected the Tabagan-Santa Maria Bridge here in the province of Isabela.
00:41With the support of DPWH, Region 2, and the Central Office, even the local officials, the President inspected the part of the bridge that was built last February 27.
00:52According to him, design flow is the main reason why the part of the bridge was given.
00:57To be honest, P1.8 billion was the amount of money that was spent on the construction of the bridge, but the design of the bridge was affected.
01:06The main reason for this is design flow. It is a design flow. The design is wrong.
01:15The funding of this project was supposed to be P1.8 billion. So it was reduced to under P1 billion to make it cheaper.
01:34The design is really weak. If you look closely, this is supposed to be a suspension bridge.
01:45The arch is like this, and the bridge is supported by cables.
01:54This is the only suspension bridge that I have seen in the world that is not made of cables.
01:59And that is the reason why it was given.
02:04At first, he saw it moving, so he returned it and had to refit it.
02:09Even though the plan was followed, there were problems with the specifications.
02:14The President is also regretting that because of the savings, it is like back to zero again because of the need to build a whole bridge.
02:22The executive also promised that there will be an answer to the incident.
02:25But first, he needs to solve the problem and fix the bridge.
02:32Well, you know, I always have a saying, fix the problem, fix not the blame.
02:39Let us fix the problem first. Believe me, we will find out who is responsible.
02:43Who is responsible is basically who made the design because their design is poor.
02:49Look what happened.
02:51The President's activities here in the province of Isabela will end and he will have private assistance in Manila.
03:17Here is the latest, back to you Alan.
03:19Thank you very much Kenneth Paciente of PTV Manila.
