Mehrunissa Shaukat Ali, India’s first woman bouncer, started her journey at 15 with dreams of joining the army or becoming a police officer. A visit to Delhi changed her path when she encountered bouncers and decided to pursue the job.

One of her first assignments took her to Jaipur for the IPL, where she noticed unequal treatment in catering. While male bouncers received chicken and mutton, women were given vegetables and puri. She protested the disparity, refusing to eat for two days. Her senior eventually ensured equal treatment, marking her first victory in the field.

Overcoming gender barriers, Mehrunissa established herself in a male-dominated industry. She emphasizes the importance of parental support in helping women achieve their dreams, highlighting that without family encouragement, many feel isolated and struggle to progress.

As India’s first female bouncer, she continues to break stereotypes and advocate for equality in the security industry. Her journey from aspiring army recruit to a leading figure in security services showcases determination and resilience.

Her story reflects the changing landscape for women in security, proving that gender is not a barrier to success. Mehrunissa Shaukat Ali remains an inspiration for young women seeking opportunities in non-traditional careers.
