00:00If Mega's thinking this boss is a breeze, he might be in for a shock. Here's a look at new Jada toys, Mega Man, Elec Man.
00:20From the groundbreaking video game Mega Man comes this iconic robot character action figure in 1-12 scale by Jada toys.
00:26Created by Dr. Light to harness power from nuclear plants, Elec Man is agile and mischievous with his thunder beam.
00:32Elec Man comes equipped with alternate hands, head, lightning bolt accessory, and stand. The packaging also includes nostalgic details from the original game.
00:41Do you know Elec Man's favorite literature character? It's Dr. Watson.
00:45Before we get a close...
00:47Before we get a closer look, that was terrible, at the new Elec Man from the Mega Man series and Jada toys,
00:52let's take the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands.
00:55I actually ordered this from Entertainment Earth and the price point of each of these Mega Man figures is pretty good.
00:59It's $19.99, so 20 bucks gets you Mega Man's Elec Man and all the accessories that we're about to have a look at.
01:05The figure though is gonna stand at 4 inches in height or Elec Man's gonna stand at 10 centimeters tall.
01:10As for the other level bosses we've looked at so far,
01:13here's what Elec Man looks like along with both Fire Man and Ice Man. While I was also going through my totes as well,
01:19I happen to find here Dr. Wily. Now Dr. Wily wasn't released by Jada toys yet.
01:22This one actually was produced by Funko and it has some decent levels of possibility to it.
01:26I mean Funko really didn't carry the line really much at all, but for the least the stand-in right now,
01:30that will be my Dr. Wily until of course we eventually get one from Jada toys.
01:33And of course we can't be talking about Mega Man without Mega Man himself.
01:37Here's what the figure looks like from the first wave that we gotten. As for Elec Man's accessories,
01:41the description at the beginning of this review did state
01:43stand, yet the figure doesn't actually come in clear with a stand.
01:46So it may have been something that they had planned at one point and then just decide just to
01:50axe the stand all together. The figure though does come include some swappable hands.
01:54He does have closed fists on the ends of his forearms,
01:57but that can so easily be changed out with a pointing hand and a thumbs up hand.
02:01The good thing about this though, the beauty of these, is that the pegs are on adjacent sides.
02:06So if you want to have a pointer in one and a thumbs up on the other, you can so easily do that.
02:11In fact, to show you what that looks like, actually just before we do that, I'm gonna scratch that for a second.
02:16The figure also comes in clear with his electricity effect. Now this does fit really around his arm.
02:20There's a little loop on the end here and basically you're just gonna slide it up Elec Man's arm like this.
02:24And it kind of gives you a somewhat serviceable look like he's electrifying Rockman.
02:29Unfortunately though, one thing I would have really liked that they could have done while still making use of this hand that was about
02:33to put into his forearm. So put it down here for a second. Yeah, Elec Man comes in clear with this pointing hand.
02:38While I was looking at this, what you could also do too is just wrap this around his arm like this.
02:43But I wish that there was a way that they could have put a hole right here on the end that you could have just
02:47plugged it onto the end of his pointer.
02:49I don't know really how much more weight that would have costed him,
02:52but at least it would look like the electricity was coming out of his end.
02:55I mean, obviously probably would have wanted to bend this out too.
02:57So it would have been a little bit more like that, but a little hole right there. That's all it would have asked.
03:03Still though, like I said, what you can do is so easily take the hand that he has,
03:07just attach it from his forearm, put the new hand in place, and
03:11I think for my personal collection,
03:12I'd like to have him probably displayed with the pointing hand.
03:14And then we'll go ahead and just take again that looplet right there, and we'll just slide it over his hand just like that.
03:20So, I mean, it's okay.
03:21I mean, again, I would have really preferred if they could have found a way to attach it onto the end of his finger,
03:25but and while not including a display stand, no, no display stand is included with Elec Man.
03:29At least it's a one way of displaying the figure.
03:32You want to see what he also looks like with thumbs up hand? Okay, fine.
03:35I'll give you guys what you want.
03:36We'll go ahead and just remove this hand also as well, and we'll just plug in the thumbs up hand.
03:41I think that's a little bit too many gestures, honestly. I mean, he's got the thumbs up in one hand.
03:45He looks like Rob Van Dam, and he's pointing the hand with the other.
03:49The only other thing that comes in clear with Elec Man, I say only other, I mean, considering this figure is a
03:53$20 release from Jada.
03:55I think they do pretty good with the amount of accessories that they include. Elec Man also comes included with his alternate head sculpt.
04:00I'll honestly tell you though, I still like this one a little bit more. It looks a little bit more mischievous.
04:06I do like the way they've cornered the lip here on the side. This one's okay.
04:10It just looks like he's a little too happy.
04:12But to show you guys what that looks like, and the differences between the two furs,
04:16what it looks like on the side,
04:17what it certainly looks like on the back. We want to cover off as much territory as we can.
04:21To change, though, the head out, it's just a case of holding on to the torso. Don't let go.
04:25Whatever you do, this guy will float away on you.
04:26But just go ahead and just pop it off the ball joint. Super simple, but easy to do. Then pop the new head in place.
04:32This takes a little bit more effort. While you're doing this as well,
04:35you just want to make sure you don't push down on the lightning bolt. The lightning bolt, though, at least is softer plastic.
04:40It probably, if anything, is going to hurt your hand more than anything else.
04:42So that's what the alternate head sculpt looks like. I still think this is the better of the two.
04:47The head, one thing I do like about, though, is that it's actually sculpted.
04:51They so easily could have just phoned this in and just printed the open mouth on the front of his face.
04:56But no, that's actually sculpted in there, fellas, everybody.
05:00As for the rest of his body,
05:02the one thing that's interesting, though, about him is that Jada Toys has used a little bit of mileage from previous molds.
05:06He is, in fact, actually using the exact same body as Fireman. Same knee caps,
05:11same style of boots, and actually what you could do, too, if you look at underneath the top of his shoulder pads,
05:17essentially what this is, it's just softer plastic.
05:19So they can so easily get away with the idea of using the same body, because if you look at like Fireman, for example,
05:25Fireman, again, just had like a rubber appliance piece that went over top of basically like his arms and the front of his chest.
05:30Yeah, I got a little bit of paint there.
05:32Thank you for spotting that, by the way. A little bit of paint on the end of my finger.
05:35So again, like this is just a softer rubber plastic overlay that they just put over top of the body.
05:40So it's so easy then for them to basically produce the exact same figure and just give him different style of armor.
05:46The knee cap is, though, sculpted in. So if you were to compare it like with Mega Man's, Mega Man's basically had like a smoother lower leg.
05:52So it's a little bit different there.
05:54The paint is really good, though, on Elec Man. You got the lightning bolt there on the front.
05:57And that's again, not just, well, it's painted in there, but it's also sculpted into the plastic.
06:02He's also got bands there also added to his arms. So this is a new tool to arm.
06:06So like Mega Man's, for example, when we looked at his, you can obviously see it's not using...
06:10Maybe they may have used some suggestions when it comes to the actual molding.
06:14But they certainly would have had to go in there and add a banding in there as well.
06:17Got some nice coloring there on the back with some blues and some yellows. The green there also on the back of Elec Man's head.
06:23He's a nice colorful looking character.
06:25I mean really all the Boss Man battles for all the Boss Man level bosses, for that matter, have all had really decent colors.
06:31From what I've heard, though, that Jada Toys is going right to Mega Man 2.
06:34I don't know if I would rush that just yet because first of all,
06:37we don't have ourselves a Bomb Man and we don't have a Guts Man.
06:41Funny, though, also enough that while we looked at Mega Man in this review for comparison's sake,
06:44we were getting the Bomb Man version of him as part of this wave.
06:47I just feel like why would we have rushed through not releasing a Bomb Man and a Guts Man,
06:52release then a Mega Man variant as part of this wave, and then jump immediately to Mega Man 2 while still scrapping the last
06:58two level bosses of Mega Man 1?
07:01Anyways, though, for the articulation, though, for Elec Man, the head does rotate all the way around.
07:05I had noticed, though, if you put the head down really low like this,
07:09it doesn't give you as much posability.
07:12If you just lift it up just a little bit like I just did now,
07:14you get a little bit more. If you push it all the way down,
07:16it's going to be a little bit more restricted. But the head does rotate all the way around.
07:20It looks up, it looks down, and you can also move it back and forth as well.
07:23The upper torso is also on a very good ball joint. You can rotate the arms all the way around.
07:28Just don't get them hung up, whatever you do. There's a hinge also right there inside, just where his armpit is.
07:34I don't think the robot bosses need deodorant. But yeah, just bring the arms out like this. There's a single hinge in the elbow.
07:40Follow along with me. A rotation here in the forearm, a rotation here in the hands. Bend back and forth there as well.
07:46Legs split out. They're on ball joints. Or actually, they're on peg hinge joints.
07:51And then you can also take the legs, of course, move them forward.
07:53You can move them back. Nice coloring, by the way, on the bottom detail of Elecman's boots.
07:57There's a little bit of swivel there at the top.
07:59A single hinge only for the lower knee.
08:01The lower leg does also rotate. And you've got some decent posability there for the feet.
08:05You move up and down. And you can also rock them back and forth as well.
08:09I think so far from a boss battle, I think Elecman is my favorite that we've looked at so far. So far.
08:15Also, again, bringing back in Fireman, who he happens to share the same mold with. And also Iceman.
08:21And of course, yeah, here's Mega Man, too. Should we bring back Dr. Wily?
08:24Even though Dr. Wily wasn't even released by Jaded Toys yet. Yet.
08:29We'll just kind of put him in the background here. Elecman, though, is a nice looking figure.
08:32He's certainly, though, more colorful than the others. And while, unfortunately, being falsely advertised that the figure does come in clue with a stand,
08:38he does not come in clue with a stand anybody.
08:40He does at least come in clue with the lightning effect that can go either on the end of his arm.
08:44I would say any other option. But there really isn't any other option.
08:47Still, though, I kind of wish that, again,
08:48they could have put a little hole on the end that this could have attached onto his finger.
08:51But still, though, Elecman is a nice welcomed addition to my growing Mega Man 1 collection.
08:56I think I may have looked at the level bosses a bit out of order. To beat Elecman in Mega Man 1,
09:00you need to acquire the rolling cutter you get after you beat Cut Man. And we're looking at Cut Man next.
09:05So I should have really reversed the order.
09:07Both of these figures, though, are still making up Mega Man 1. From what I've still heard,
09:11the third wave of what we're getting from Jada Toys and the Mega Man line is going to jump right to Mega Man 2.
09:16So my question would be, then, where's Bomb Man? Where's Guts Man?
09:19Unless Guts Man is going to be released as a separate deluxe figure, because he's going to be a little bit bigger than the
09:23rest of the level bosses. But then, where does that leave Bomb Man?
09:27I mean, we're getting a Bomb Man infused Mega Man. He's going to be a variant of part of this wave.
09:31I know we're kind of jumping ahead with opinions here,
09:33but I just kind of feel like Jada Toys shouldn't so rush quickly to Mega Man 2 without finishing up first Mega Man 1.
09:39For Mega Man 1, though, Elec Man is one of my favorite bosses. Him and Cuts Man
09:43happen to make up the two figures of this second wave.
09:46While not being kind of falsely advertising it, this figure does come in clear with the display stand. At least most
09:52online listings say the figure comes in clear with the display stand.
09:55I don't really know how the stand would have really worked. Would it have been similar to like Fire Man's, where it would have just
09:59pegged onto the bottom? Because there's clearly no hole with the electricity effect.
10:03Unless at one point, Jada had planned to use a stand for Elec Man,
10:06and at the last minute, scrapped it and just wrapped it around his arm instead.
10:10Certainly, he's one of the more colorful of the level bosses
10:13we've gotten, and I'm definitely looking forward to looking at seeing what else is going to be getting from Jada Toys and the Mega Man line.
10:18Mega Man is still one of my all-time favorite video games, and so far, I think that Jada Toys have been
10:24rocking it, or rock manning it, when it comes to Mega Man properties.
10:28What do you guys think of Elec Man? Let me know down below in the comments section.
10:31If you guys are also interested, get this guy for yourself.
10:33I did acquire this one, Cut Man, and the variant of Bomb Man Mega Man over on Entertainment Earth.
10:39They were like $20 a piece. $19.99. You can't beat that at all.
10:43If you can't beat those prices anywhere else, you can certainly click the link down below in the video description.
10:47That same link will also save you 10% on anything that's currently in stock.
10:51If you guys did enjoy this video, though, you can do it a solid. You can throw it a like.
10:55But if you guys want to stick around for more, so I certainly hope so, you can hit that subscribe.
10:59You can turn on that bell, and you can also come back for the remaining reviews of the second wave.
11:04We're going to be looking at Cut Man, and we're also going to be looking at Bomb Man's Mega Man.
11:08I know that's not actually what he's called, but we're going to be looking at those in the upcoming reviews.
11:12So I certainly hope to see you guys for those. As always, thanks for watching. See you guys next time.
