00:00Liverpool and the January transfer window. They have a lot of youngsters, a lot of players
00:08in general on loan from the first side, a number of players performing out on loan.
00:15Ben Doak is one probably a standout for Middlesbrough, he's playing fantastically well in there,
00:20sort of big to get promotion. How do they go about the January window in terms of recalling
00:25players? Is any business going to be done there to bring anyone back into Arnishotts
00:29side and maybe aid that title push?
00:32Yeah, it is an interesting one because, as you say, there are players like Ben Doak who
00:38are doing well, but I would think that when Liverpool are sending these players out, they
00:43see it for the season because they want them to go and get game time. Maybe the problem
00:49is when the players aren't playing enough that you look at it and think, do we need
00:54to do something there? One would be Cade Gordon who's gone to Norwich, he was really
01:00highly rated when he came in from Derby a few seasons ago with injury issues and he's
01:05not playing too much at Norwich, so maybe Liverpool look at that. An interesting one
01:09actually is Stefan Persetic because he went out to RB Salzburg, there was reported interest
01:16from Barcelona in him to bring him in on loan for the season. It shows how highly regarded
01:22he is in the game, but with Jürgen Klopp's former assistant Pep Lindsay's gone and taken
01:26charge of Salzburg, Liverpool felt that was the right move. Now, Pep Lindsay has lost
01:30his job at Salzburg, he has a really tough start and they've made the decision to part
01:35ways with him, so do Liverpool look at that and think, do we need to bring him back? Maybe
01:42to even bolster their midfields where they are a little bit light or do they look to
01:46get him out elsewhere if it might not work? But on the flip side, Liverpool have signed
01:53a lot of players from the Red Bull franchises. I just want to mention as well another one,
01:58Owen Beckham, who's really thriving at Blackburn this season, he's a left-back, he has a really
02:02good loan at Dundee last season and he's thriving in the Championship now. Maybe if Robertson
02:10or Simacas suffered a serious injury, would he be ready to step up? I don't think they'd
02:15really want to bring him back, but come back and make the steps to the Premier League,
02:19so maybe Liverpool look at that and think Owen Beckham could come back and make an impact.
02:25I don't think Liverpool want to get too many back, a lot of them are playing regularly,
02:30some of them have had to come back injured, like Salud Chambers from Wigan and Calum Scanlon
02:34from Milwaukes, they've had issues so they will be going back out to try and get more
02:41game time. If you're looking at one, it's probably Kate Gordon, Bissetta will be an
02:45interesting one. Players like Van Dijk, Ryan Granbert have played a lot of football this
02:52season and maybe they need to be looked after a little bit carefully in the coming months.
