00:00As it always feels like the way, I am one of the last to leave here at Brisbane Road,
00:05it's not actually called Brisbane Road anymore, after Shrewsbury have fallen to their first
00:09defeat in four matches. They went four matches unbeaten over the festive period but unfortunately
00:15that has ended in disappointing fashion as they were beaten 1-0 here at Brisbane Road
00:21against Leyton Oran who are in form themselves. So they turned up this morning looking to
00:25build on the 1-1 draw of the Tom Bloxham inspired draw at Blackpool on New Year's
00:32Day. Gareth Ainsworth made four changes to his starting XI, bringing in a couple of fresh
00:39faces, the same back six but aside from that Tom Bloxham was the only one of the front
00:45five to remain in the starting XI. Shrewsbury were good in the first half, it was that they
00:52cancelled each other out, the two sides, Leyton Oran who had been in such good form,
00:57it was the fifth and final game of a really, really busy period but town showed that newfound
01:03resilience that we have seen them have so often over this period in the last couple
01:07of weeks and it was basically a carbon copy of the first half that we saw at the seaside
01:11against Blackpool. Superb performance, defensively very well structured, very well organised
01:18but after the break things changed. Richie Welland obviously got into his players at
01:23half time, they came out rejuvenated and they looked a really, really well oiled machine
01:27they did to be fair, Leyton Oran. They came out slick passing, on the deck movement and
01:33Shrewsbury just really struggled to cope with that. They went 1-0 down, it was a disappointing
01:38way to go 1-0 down just after the hour mark. Jamal Blackman who actually had a pretty good
01:45game again, he takes the pressure off town in really, really important moments so he
01:51did have a good game but unfortunately he was beaten at his near post from a really
01:55narrow angle on this occasion and he'd be disappointed with the way that he conceded
01:59that goal. But he responded from it well, he made another couple of good saves, important
02:04stops but obviously as you're a goalkeeper or a defender it's the mistake that everybody
02:08realises. He's been good in the five games that he's played but that's the first time
02:13since he has come in that he's been involved in a defeat so a disappointing one for him.
02:17From that moment onwards Shrewsbury tried but they never looked like getting back into
02:21the game and if anything the 1-0 probably flattered them slightly. The hosts were pushing
02:29forward and really looking to add to that lead and there was a chance for Josh Coyote
02:32later on but really they ran out of steam and ran out of legs in that second half. So
02:37it was a disappointing end to the Christmas period. Lots of football coming up, Huddersfield
02:41at home next weekend and Shrewsbury will be looking to get back from winning ways.
02:44Gareth Ainsworth, as positive as ever post-match, he says that it doesn't matter what happens
02:48now it's about where they end up at the end of April, not looking too much into the standings.
02:53So let's keep our fingers crossed that they can bounce back well and Huddersfield away.
