00:00A splendid Monday afternoon to all, I am William Theo and this is PTV News Now.

00:11Kicking off today, stories at the hour.

00:14The typhoon and tropical storm carousel is on with three having exited stage left and

00:20two more forecast to hit the country tomorrow and over the coming weekend.

00:25And with relief efforts still underway in areas hit hard by severe tropical storm Christine,

00:31which drenched and soaked the regions of the Visayas, Southern Luzon, Calabarzon, Central

00:37Luzon, the Cordilleras and Northern Luzon in the last week of October, a spate of three

00:43storms and or typhoons, Julian, Leon, Marse, has hit the country since with a couple more

00:49due beginning tomorrow morning.

00:52And not so far behind her this coming weekend, a tropical depression to be named Ophel once

00:58she intensifies and reaches Philippine forecasting area.

01:02As of 10 a.m. today, Monday, the tropical depression outside the Philippine area of

01:06responsibility was spotted some 1,480 kilometers or 925 miles away from the South Pacific but

01:15in a trajectory or pathway headed for the Luzon mainland.

01:19Lagasa forecast a tropical depression to intensify and reach typhoon status on Wednesday.

01:26Meanwhile, one world leader was exceptionally gleeful in the outcome of the last week's

01:32U.S. presidential elections.

01:34He tweeted on his ex account his congratulations to the president-elect calling his win the

01:40greatest political comeback he had ever seen.

01:44Ever since it was clear Tuesday night last week of Trump's clear victory, Israeli Prime

01:49Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken to the president-elect and avows both he and

01:54Trump see eye to eye on the way forward in the Middle East conflicts and in dealing with

02:00Tehran.

02:01Then again, there had been no let up in the artillery fire and airstrikes in Gaza and

02:06Lebanon, the latest of which claimed dozens of lives in both places, leaving rescue workers

02:11and volunteers scrambling to extricate victims both dead and wounded under the rubble.

02:17The northern Gaza and Israeli airstrike on a shelter harboring displaced people in the

02:22urban refugee camp of Jabalia killed at least 17 people, including nine women, as per a

02:30hospital report.

02:31The Israeli Defense Forces said without presenting any shred of evidence, as it almost always

02:36does after a lethal airstrike, said the targeted location was a site of militant planning and

02:42operations.

02:44The offensive operations in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of 43,000 Palestinians, more

02:50than half of whom are women and children, and thousands of Hamas fighters.

02:57One of the most unforgettable campaign slogans by Kamala Harris during the stump that she

03:03was having a to-do list on her day one of her presidency while Donald Trump has his

03:08revenge list.

03:09And almost everyone who have been through Trump's first presidency knows his vengeful

03:14and vindictive personality, as VOA's Veronica Valderas Iglesias shares in this report.

03:20After a decisive electoral victory, all eyes are now on President-elect Donald Trump and

03:28how he will govern.

03:30His supporters believe that even those Americans who didn't vote for the former president will

03:35see their lives improve.

03:37I think a lot of people across the country, even who have bought into, I think, some false

03:41narratives about Donald Trump, are going to be pleasantly surprised as to finding more

03:46money in their paycheck, prices coming down in the country, a secure border.

03:50With this election of Susie Wiles as Trump's chief of staff, the president-elect's administration

03:56is already taking shape.

03:59The former president took to his truth social media platform Saturday to make clear, however,

04:06that neither former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Nikki Haley, nor Trump's former Secretary

04:12of State, Mike Pompeo, will be invited to join his cabinet this time around.

04:19Meanwhile, questions have been raised about whether Trump will act on promises he's made

04:25to seek revenge against his political enemies and those who have pursued legal cases against

04:31him.

04:32I'm going to tell you what Donald Trump has said on this time and again.

04:35Success will be our retribution.

04:38Success will be our vengeance.

04:39While I concede this election, I do not.

04:40For those who supported the Democratic presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris,

04:46this is a time of reflection.

04:48The working class of this country is angry, and they have a reason to be angry.

04:54We are living in an economy today, Donna, where the people on top are doing phenomenally

05:00well, while 60 percent of our people are living paycheck to paycheck.

05:06While praising the Biden administration's achievements, Senator Sanders said there's

05:10more work to be done.

05:12We need an agenda that says to the working class, we're going to take on these powerful

05:16special interests and create an economy and a government that works for you.

05:20And by the way, that can't happen unless you get big money out of politics.

05:24U.S. President Joe Biden has promised there will be a peaceful transfer of power on January

05:3020th.

05:32Biden called Trump to congratulate him after his election win, and the two are scheduled

05:38to meet in person Wednesday at the White House.
