00:00FAGASA explained why the typhoons have been occurring one after the other in the past
00:04weeks during the 178th Climate Forum.
00:07According to the State Weather Bureau, several factors contribute to the consecutive typhoons,
00:13including environmental conditions such as warm ocean temperatures, which fuel the strength
00:17of developing storms.
00:19The forum also discussed sub-seasonal and seasonal forecasting, adding that while there
00:24are no weather disturbances currently near the Philippine area of responsibility, two
00:28tropical cyclones are expected to occur by December based on their outlook.
00:33Pag-asa warned rainfall could last until May, especially in mainland Luzon, Mimaropa, Panay,
00:39Western Visayas and the east.
00:41However, dry season is seen to begin by March.
