00:21 North Cay Island is a 1.7 hectare tropical beach here in Busuaga, Palawan.
00:26 It's 30 minutes away from the airport and 20 minutes by boat.
00:30 So we're here at the front beach although the shore is really rotating.
00:35 As you can see, the sand is super fine.
00:37 It's powdery.
00:39 This is our bar.

00:48 Of course, this is our favorite place.

00:54 So handling the whole island, of course, is very challenging
00:57 because it's not the usual hotel, not the usual resort that you handle.
01:02 It's an island that has limited resources.
01:05 We still need to get fresh water from the mainland.
01:09 We travel by boat, the land is just a tank.
01:12 The electricity is powered by generator.
01:17 To make it more sustainable and eco-friendly,
01:19 we have plants for solar power and desalination of water.
01:24 Desalination of water is where we get water from the sea.
01:28 We don't need to get fresh water from the mainland.
01:32 So we're here on the other side of the island
01:35 where we can see our giant clams or taklobo.
01:39 On this side, the turtles lay eggs but it's seasonal.
01:44 We're just not sure when they'll come back.
01:47 Before the 90s, it was just a bare island.
01:51 It had no people. People just came here for day tours.
01:55 The previous owner built cottages for overnight bookings.
01:59 He improved the island a bit.
02:01 When my family handled it, we just fixed the rooms.
02:06 We improved the facilities a bit because it didn't have fresh water before.
02:11 The original plan was to continue the operations of the previous owner.
02:18 But it changed after the pandemic because the tourists wanted a different island.
02:23 They wanted a private island with no people and it's safe.
02:28 So we thought, why not rent the island as a whole to them?
02:35 From there, we started the all-in private island experience.
02:40 The guests don't have to think about anything.
02:42 Just open the door, follow the airport, and you'll be on the island.
02:48 We're in charge of the food.
02:51 You can use the amenities of the island.
02:56 We have two villas. Over there is the fan villa.
03:01 It has three rooms that can accommodate up to six people.
03:04 This is the aircon villa.
03:08 It has two rooms that can accommodate up to ten people.

03:23 One of the good things about this place is the snorkeling.
03:26 Kayak.
03:28 And then paddle board.
03:32 There's also a sunset deck where you can see the sunset directly without any obstructions.
03:41 It's almost 6 p.m. and we're going to my favorite place, the sunset deck.
03:47 We're here at my favorite spot, the sunset deck.
03:55 As you can see, the view of the sunset is perfect.
04:00 At night, we set up an outdoor cinema.
04:09 You can watch a movie or watch KTV.
04:12 We're here at the back part of the island where you can see the rock formations and mini sun bar.

04:28 We can take pictures here, go on a date, or hang out.
04:35 The guests always comment that they like the privacy and exclusivity of the island.
04:41 It's rare to see a private island in the Philippines that has complete facilities and amenities.
04:49 We had a foreigner guest who really liked the island.
04:55 He stayed here and camped here for two weeks.
05:00 We had a guest who said that North Cado is her own budget.
05:05 The beach is beautiful and very private.
05:08 Even if you're in a group, you won't feel like you're with someone because the island is quite big.
05:13 There's also a comment that it's the perfect place to go offline.
05:21 But there are also guests who really want to work here.
05:26 Especially since it's the work from home season, they work from the island.
