00:00Hello OG! I'm Barbie. Welcome to Asug Vineyard and Agri-Resort and this is our farmhouse here in Naga City.
00:09Let's go inside!
00:21So this farm was acquired by our parents 20 years ago.
00:28Actually, they were the ones who planted the mahogany there.
00:31And my mother's favorite was the grapes, that's why she built a vineyard.
00:38This used to be a mango plantation, so we also have mango trees there.
00:43But since there were storms here in Bicol, some of our mango trees were cut down.
00:51I do not want to be idle entertaining the thoughts of the pandemic.
00:57So I focused myself into farming until the COVID-19 pandemic was over.
01:06So this is the result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
01:09I just wanted to do something.
01:11I planted all these things.
01:13And then it came up, I was happy.
01:16So I did it even though I was tired.
01:19My husband loves farming.
01:30So my mother and I already had half of this farm.
01:35She also divided it.
01:37Then Makoy and I decided to build this farmhouse.
01:44Because of the pandemic, we are a bit far from the city.
01:49Although this is still inside Naga City, but at least it's far from the people.
01:55So this side is two hectares, the left side.
01:59Because on the other side, I divided it to my six children.
02:03And then they put up their own houses.
02:06And these sides, these are all planted with the grapes.
02:10I also have hydroponics, aquaponics, American lemon, dragon fruit, and green leafy vegetables.
02:24The windmill house and the white hat villa were built by our siblings.
02:33When they go to the farmhouse, they feel relaxed.
02:37They think, why not build their own houses there.
02:42I want my children to go through what I went through.
02:48So that they can value all the hardships they went through.
02:54But being a mother, you can't be modest.
02:59You know you have a child, and your child is still struggling.
03:04I can't bear it.
03:05I can't bear it that they went through what I went through when I was a child, before I got here.
03:16Makoy and I built this farmhouse last August 2021.
03:22And then we stayed here.
03:25The classes were not face-to-face yet.
03:28So our eldest goes to online classes here.
03:32And then my friend saw that the place was nice, and she asked, can we do a pre-nap there?
03:40And we were surprised, a lot of people were asking if they wanted to do a pre-nap.
03:44So Makoy and I said, why not?
03:46Let's open it to the public for pre-naps.
03:49And then it reached those who wanted to do it overnight.
03:53So that's what happened.
03:55We were sent away from the farmhouse.
03:58We went back to our house in the city, because it was like an Airbnb.
04:09This farmhouse, one night, we were having coffee.
04:14Then he drew on a tissue.
04:16He said, I want this.
04:19Then he wanted a fishpond, a house.
04:23I said, how much will you spend on that?
04:25Then he said, just give me P300,000.
04:28He said, I'll take care of it.
04:30I said, sure, is that sure?
04:31Just P300,000.
04:32Until his P300,000, it just reached the basic structure.
04:38He didn't have an interior yet, no roof yet.
04:42So I had no choice, his posts were already built.
04:45Then it reached about P1.5M.
04:50But the interior, exterior, and equipment were already there.
04:56My husband designed the interior of the farmhouse.
05:01I did the layout.
05:02I budgeted the space.
05:05Here in the farmhouse, we have a master's bedroom downstairs
05:10with a private comfort room.
05:13Then, we also have a dining area inside.
05:21And we have a fully furnished kitchen for those who want to cook.
05:33We also have an oven and a gas range.
05:36On the second floor, we have a family room.
05:44That's where the family can gather to talk to each other.
05:50Then, there's also a room upstairs, an attic room with four double-sized beds.
05:58And then, here, where I'm sitting, this is what we call a fish pan deck.
06:04This is where we fish.
06:12We also have a bonfire area.
06:14Because it's cold here at night, especially during Vermont.
06:18And we also have an entertainment room outside.
06:24My mom built a pool, 50%.
06:28She built a pavilion so that when we have events, we can just sit there.
06:32My siblings and I finished the pool and the pavilion.
06:38Then, we also ran the business.
06:44I appeal to them to first, generate income.
06:48Second, to enjoy it.
06:52I just tell them to carry on my legacy,
06:56whenever and whenever I can.
07:00But I want to put everything I have here.
07:04I don't want to lose anything, even if I don't have anything.
07:06Don't remove my grapes.
07:08That's why I built this.
07:14The farmhouse is about 3,000 square meters.
07:18The two fishpans and the farmhouse are about 1,500 square meters.
07:24My husband's herb farm is also included.
07:28Then, another 1,500 square meters is for our livestock.
07:34My husband wanted us to live here.
07:38It's like an early retirement.
07:40But I said, no, we can't yet.
07:42Because we still have a lot to do in the center of Naga City.
07:49If you want to experience a farm life or a province life,
07:53please don't hesitate to come and visit us here at Asok Vineyard and Agri Resort.
