00:00 So I'm Joshua Overton, Chef Patron of Restaurant Meats.
00:03 I'm Victoria Overton, General Manager of Restaurant Meats.
00:06 And how does it feel to have won this evening?
00:10 I know you already knew, but to get up there and to get that award...
00:15 I mean, to win one star within seven months, I think it's absolutely mind-blowing.
00:21 It's not something we expected, and we're a bit flabbergasted really.
00:27 A bit speechless, yeah.
00:30 I think North Yorkshire, and particularly the area that we're placed,
00:35 is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
00:38 I always say to people, like, you know,
00:40 "Why do they open this restaurant in Hoppingham in the middle of nowhere?"
00:43 And I think when people come and eat at the restaurants, they can see why.
00:47 Because it's not just the food and the location, you know,
00:50 the restaurant's magical, and that sort of drive and the place is all magical.
00:54 So I think it's an amazing place to be.
00:57 We have incredible suppliers and producers and farmers
01:01 who are as passionate about their craft as we are.
01:04 And so, you know, it's an opportunity for us to be able to, you know,
01:09 put their product on the plate and sort of be the final piece of the puzzle.
01:14 But we're still sort of really able to represent Yorkshire in the restaurant.
01:19 It's amazing.
01:20 And besides your restaurant, where is your favourite place to eat in Yorkshire?
01:26 Um...
01:27 Thank you.
01:32 [LAUGHTER]
01:33 There's too many to choose from.
01:35 We've got, we're in the Havaldian Hills and around Holmesley,
01:39 like, all around that area, there's just so many amazing places to choose from.
01:44 We really like Bantam in Holmesley.
01:46 We think that's, like, a really lovely place to go on our days off.
01:50 Yeah.
01:51 We really enjoy going there.
01:53 Starr Hair Room, amazing.
01:55 That's one at Old Stair.
01:56 That's one at Old Stair, and the Abbey, all amazing.
01:58 We're just promoting places in our area.
02:01 But, you know, it really is, you know, probably the new food capital of, you know, England.
02:06 There's so many good restaurants that, you know...
02:09 Just within a few miles of each other.
02:11 It's not just Winston.
02:12 Something amazing is happening in that area.
02:16 It's really exciting.
02:17 Speaking of the food capital, it was just named the most exciting food destination by the Good Food Guide.
02:25 How does that feel, you guys, to place there?
02:27 You know, you've based there.
02:28 Well, for it to be noted, like, the most exciting destination to go and eat,
02:33 it sort of buys into why we opened the restaurants in Hobbiton.
02:38 We knew it was an amazing place.
02:40 We knew there was lots of other great restaurants.
02:42 And the produce, which we can find on our doorstep, is second to none,
02:47 which then leads us to, like, you know, it is fantastic.
02:50 You've got amazing asparagus growing, amazing game being shot,
02:53 amazing cows being reared, everything you could ever want.
02:56 And that's what leads the customers up to a great experience.
