00:05 You have written more books than your age.
00:09 Are you preparing to make a record?
00:11 In the coming years, I wish to complete a century.
00:17 Namaste!
00:24 Welcome to this special program of Outlook Initiative.
00:30 I am Dinesh Anand.
00:32 You all know that Outlook Group has been successfully publishing many of its magazines for the past few years.
00:40 Outlook English, Outlook Hindi, which is the national news magazine of the group,
00:45 Outlook Business, Outlook Money, Outlook Traveller, Outlook Splurge,
00:50 and all these magazines have been receiving support and love from all of you for years.
00:58 We thank you all for this.
01:02 In the past few years, social media has been a growing force.
01:07 Millions of programs are being successfully run on these platforms.
01:13 And seeing this, Outlook Group has decided to take a step towards social media platforms.
01:19 So, let me introduce you to our special guest today.
01:23 He is a well-known scholar of Bihar,
01:25 a former professor of Patna Science College,
01:28 and a writer of 70 books on Mathematics, Professor K.C. Sinha.
01:33 Welcome to this program, Mr. Sinha.
01:35 Thank you.
01:36 First of all, you have written more books than your age.
01:43 You have been published.
01:44 So, let us assume that you are preparing to make a record.
01:49 I have published 70 books so far.
01:54 These are of different levels.
01:57 I started with the book of IIT competition.
02:05 My first book was from Bharti Bhavan, which was in Hindi.
02:09 But the second book was in English.
02:12 And from the second to the tenth book,
02:15 I have published books related to IIT competitions.
02:18 In this, the syllabus of Inter and Plus 2 was covered.
02:24 And the syllabus of IIT competitive exam was also covered.
02:28 And this book was written according to its pattern.
02:32 And this book became so popular,
02:35 that like a hot cake, this book was published in the next edition.
02:44 Keeping this book's popularity in mind,
02:49 we decided to write more books.
02:53 So, after this, the books in Hindi,
02:56 the books that were in English,
02:58 for the children of Bihar, for the children of Madhya Pradesh,
03:01 and for the students of the speaking states,
03:09 we published these books in Hindi.
03:13 And after that, the number of books kept increasing.
03:17 As the demand for books on this topic increased,
03:21 we started writing books on that topic as well.
03:24 Recently, a book on aptitude test has also come out,
03:28 which has become very popular among students.
03:32 And after this, on new syllabus,
03:36 we started writing books for BSc, for graduation, and for post-graduation as well.
03:43 Some books have come for graduation.
03:46 6 books have come so far.
03:48 And for post-graduation, more books of BSc will come.
03:53 And all books of post-graduation will also come.
03:57 And you are right, that in the coming years,
04:01 I wish to complete a century.
04:05 Very good.
04:07 Sinha Sahib, one more question.
04:09 All these books that you have written so far,
04:13 of which you are a writer,
04:14 are all these books from the same publication?
04:18 Or are there many other publications as well?
04:20 No, my books are from different publications.
04:24 The first book, My Bharti Bhavan,
04:27 which is a popular publication house in Bihar,
04:30 was published from there.
04:32 Two books were published from there.
04:34 After that, Students' Friends,
04:37 which is in Govind Mitra Road,
04:40 which is considered to be the second, number two publication of Bihar,
04:45 books were published from there.
04:47 And after that, keeping in mind the popularity of the book,
04:52 the publishers from outside also started approaching.
04:55 And books have been published from Meerut as well,
04:58 from Rasnogi Publications.
05:00 And after that, Jai Prakashnath, JPNP,
05:02 whose books used to be very popular,
05:05 books have been published from there as well.
05:08 And the recent books that are being published,
05:11 that is from the Advisor Publication House,
05:14 the head office of the Advisor Publication House is in Delhi,
05:18 its office is in Bombay as well,
05:20 and in Patna as well.
05:21 Its books are also becoming very popular.
05:25 So, the books that are coming in new patterns,
05:28 according to new trends,
05:31 are coming from the Advisor Publications.
05:34 Professor Sinha, one thing that is coming to my mind is that,
05:41 you have been working in Patna University for years as a professor,
05:46 and recently you have been the principal of Patna Science College,
05:51 and now there is a discussion going on,
05:57 which has reached our ears as well,
05:59 that there are some discussions about your appointment
06:03 as the Vice-Chancellor of a university.
06:07 So, is this just a rumour or is there some truth to it?
06:10 It cannot be called a rumour.
06:12 We did not apply for the Vice-Chancellorship earlier.
06:18 We applied in Patna University,
06:21 and I was selected in the three names that were selected there.
06:26 And in the coming time,
06:29 there is hope that we can get the Vice-Chancellorship in some university.
06:36 This is the government's own opinion.
06:40 And how many people come,
06:43 which people come,
06:45 is selected from that.
06:47 So, let us see what happens in the coming days.
06:51 If we are given any answer,
06:55 then I would like to assure that I will fulfill that answer with complete honesty.
07:03 Professor, one thing I would like to tell you is that,
07:09 your studies, there are many students who are working in many big positions in the world today.
07:18 And there are many students who are studying from you.
07:22 There are some students who want to know about the education of Professor Sinha.
07:29 What is your education like?
07:33 Please tell us in detail.
07:35 My formal education did not start till class 3.
07:39 My formal education started in class 4 from the district school, Ara.
07:45 Before that, in the village, in the village of Bihur, near to Chernpur,
07:51 we used to go there with our father.
07:56 We used to stay there for a year or two.
07:58 There was a school of Hafiz Sahib, a small school.
08:03 We used to study in that.
08:06 And the rest of the studies, we used to do with the help of our elder brothers and sisters.
08:14 But my formal education did not start till class 3.
08:18 In class 4, my formal education started in class 4 from the district school, Ara.
08:25 We would like to discuss an incident in this.
08:27 Sure, sure.
08:28 In the admission test of class 4, I failed in Mathematics.
08:34 Okay.
08:35 If we are pushed by this, and if a person is pushed in life,
08:40 then there are two things.
08:42 Either he is careful and tries to go ahead or he stops there.
08:47 So, what happened with me was that after a week, some seats were left empty.
08:54 The school announced again,
08:57 a notice came out that after a month, there will be another admission test.
09:01 Our parents, our elder brothers and sisters, encouraged us,
09:08 and they said that if others can do it, why can't you do it?
09:14 So, because of their encouragement, we started preparing for Mathematics again.
09:23 And we gave a whole month to Mathematics, with all honesty, with all our heart,
09:29 and our interest in Mathematics also developed from here.
09:34 And in the second test, we scored 100 marks in Mathematics.
09:40 And from here, our interest in Mathematics also started developing.
09:46 And my interest in Mathematics also developed.
09:49 Friends, it is time for a break.
09:51 After the break, we will come back and continue this discussion with Professor K.C. Sinha.
10:03 Some moments are only told by time,
10:05 so some moments are the time given to man.
10:08 With the changing times, the one who keeps moving without losing, without getting tired,
10:13 he gets his destination.
10:16 And now, we will introduce you to some special personalities who reach their destinations.
10:22 A special meeting, now on the stage of Outlook Digital,
10:25 with senior journalist, Dinesh Anand.
10:28 [Music]
10:38 Welcome all of you once again after the break.
10:42 And today, we are talking with Professor K.C. Sinha, the author of 70 books on Mathematics.
10:49 Professor Sinha, your father was a renowned lawyer in Aara city, Bhojpur.
10:55 And he had a great reputation in his city.
10:59 You were very good in studies.
11:02 If you wanted, you could have gone for administrative services.
11:05 You could have served the country as an officer.
11:09 But why did you choose the teaching profession?
11:11 As we said, during the 4th year of the Admission Test, our interest in Mathematics developed.
11:21 And in the 4th class, we came second in the school.
11:27 From the 5th class onwards, we started to talk in our class, including all the sections.
11:35 We were the first.
11:37 Our class friends used to come to us with their problems, especially of Mathematics.
11:47 And we used to solve them easily.
11:51 So, this way, we got into the practice of teaching.
11:57 And our interest in teaching developed.
12:01 And from our understanding, the teaching profession is a pious profession.
12:07 The teacher earns his daily bread, but he also serves the society.
12:15 Because the progress of the society depends on the teacher.
12:21 The teacher teaches, and later on, he becomes an engineer, a doctor, an administrator.
12:27 So, our interest was to go into the teaching profession.
12:33 But our parents wanted us to become engineers.
12:37 At that time, there was a craze for engineers.
12:39 And we did the pre-university matriculation from the district school, Aara.
12:45 We used to get boarded in the 11th grade.
12:47 We topped in the Aara district in the 11th grade.
12:51 We also topped in our school.
12:53 And we had two choices.
12:57 To take admission in Jain College, Aara, or Patna Science College.
13:03 Because Bihar's number one college, Patna Science College, was considered for science.
13:09 So, we filled our forms in both the places.
13:11 We were selected from both the places.
13:15 Now, there was a financial aspect.
13:17 Because we were from an ordinary family.
13:21 And we had four brothers, two sisters, and three aunts.
13:25 So, my grandfather had passed away.
13:29 So, my father was financially in debt.
13:32 So, seeing this, it was decided that we should take admission in Jain College, Aara.
13:39 But my father said, "No, we will teach in Patna Science College."
13:45 Because we were the first family to do matriculation from science.
13:51 So, I got admission in Science College.
13:54 And after coming to Science College, due to some financial difficulties, we had to do one or two tuitions.
14:04 So, with the help of an acquaintance teacher, we had to go for two tuitions, which were two days a week.
14:12 We used to go in the evening.
14:14 So, we used to get income and we got more interest in teaching.
14:19 After this, I got good results in pre-university as well.
14:25 In engineering, wherever I applied, there was Sindhri Engineering College, BIT Sindhri, it was a very famous college.
14:33 There too, I got admission letter from there and from Patna Engineering College.
14:39 But we wanted to go in teaching profession.
14:43 So, we decided that we will continue our further studies in Science College.
14:51 And once we got admission in BSc, in Part 1, at that time it was Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
14:59 So, when we got admission, our aim became clear that we have to go in teaching profession.
15:09 And teaching profession is a pious profession, as we said.
15:14 And it is also a social service.
15:17 So, we went in this profession.
15:20 But our interest was also a little helpless.
15:24 The cost of studying engineering was more.
15:27 And our interest was also to go in teaching profession.
15:33 So, from here, our aim became clear that we will go in this profession.
15:38 Viewers, Professor K.C. Sinha used to be a student of Patna Science College.
15:45 And later on, he became the headmaster of this college.
15:49 Professor, one question is that, the Corona era, we all have gone through a dangerous era.
15:58 And the biggest loss of any sector is education.
16:04 So, the change that has come in education sector after Corona,
16:10 So, what is your view on this new form?
16:14 We see it from a positive perspective.
16:18 In this, those who didn't use technology, started using it.
16:28 And they became helpless.
16:31 And now, we believe that blended learning should be there.
16:35 Blended means mixed learning.
16:37 Some part, 20%, 30% should be done with the help of online technology.
16:45 And face to face, the traditional teaching method,
16:50 Interactive face to face interactive method, which is in the class,
16:55 So, that 70%, 80%, whatever is possible.
17:00 Now, we see it from a positive perspective.
17:06 So, this is a gift of Corona.
17:11 We didn't use technology, but now we are using it.
17:17 And blended learning, which is called mixed type,
17:21 In the coming days, this method will be used.
17:28 Professor, your two sons are IIT pass out.
17:33 And as far as we know, they have written some books.
17:38 They are also writers like you.
17:40 On what subjects is this book and where is it available?
17:43 This is available on Amazon.
17:46 And my elder son, Anurag Chandra, who had done from IIT Kanpur,
17:51 The book he has written, "The Ramayana Secret".
17:56 He has interpreted the Ramayana in a new way.
18:01 That book is related to that.
18:03 And it has become very popular.
18:05 This is published by Om Books International Publications.
18:12 And this is its head office in Delhi.
18:16 The second son, Abhishek Chandra,
18:19 He had done from IIT Roorkee.
18:21 And from ISB, he had done business management.
18:25 It was posted in Dubai.
18:27 It is now in Mumbai.
18:29 The name of his book is "Love You Forever".
18:33 This book has become very popular.
18:36 And it is available everywhere in bookstores, malls.
18:42 It is available on Amazon.
18:44 So, both these sons of yours, they are both from IIT.
18:48 Yes.
18:49 There are three sons, three are engineers.
18:52 Two sons have done from IIT.
18:55 One has done from Manipal.
18:57 He missed some marks.
18:59 But three are doing service.
19:02 One is in Delhi.
19:04 The second is in Mumbai.
19:05 And the third is in Bangalore.
19:07 Friends, it is time for a break.
19:10 After the break, we will return again.
19:12 And we will continue this discussion with Professor K.C. Sinha.
19:17 [Music]
19:22 [Music]
19:27 [Music]
19:32 [Music]
19:37 [Music]
19:42 [Music]
19:47 [Music]
19:52 [Music]
19:57 [Music]
20:02 [Music]
20:07 After the break, you all are welcome once again.
20:11 And today we are talking with the well-known mathematician of Bihar,
20:17 Professor K.C. Sinha.
20:19 Professor, in 2019, you have been appointed to serve the university.
20:27 And now you are moving towards online classes.
20:32 We want to know from you that these online classes,
20:35 the benefits of which you have just told,
20:37 but your three sons, three are engineers, two are IIT pass-outs,
20:44 so what support do you get in the preparation of these online classes?
20:49 The future generation in the field of technology is much ahead of us.
20:56 We are old school.
20:58 And we are adopting technology under pressure.
21:03 And in the corona period, everyone had to learn to use technology.
21:10 This is a good thing because with the coming generation,
21:14 we have to move forward.
21:16 So our children are experts in computers.
21:20 They have a very good knowledge of computers.
21:23 And when they come to us, they teach us too.
21:29 And not just our children, our grandson also teaches us computers.
21:34 And he will go beyond our father's generation.
21:39 This is a good thing.
21:41 Professor, your fan following on social media is very strong.
21:48 We have seen it.
21:50 As far as we know, you have a former student, I don't know his name.
21:56 He had made a film on your life.
21:59 Was it a film on your life or on some other subject?
22:02 No, it was not on my life.
22:04 But he made a film relating to us.
22:09 And it is related to the love affair of the children of the age +2.
22:20 So he has gone ahead in discussing our book at every stage.
22:32 And that is why people say that you have a film.
22:35 I don't have a film, it is his own.
22:38 But he discusses the book again and again.
22:43 And it has become very popular.
22:47 Many people view it.
22:51 And another one has also come, which is related to our book.
22:58 But it is related to the education of girls.
23:03 Girls should be taught.
23:05 And it is said that if a girl is educated, then the whole family is educated.
23:11 So this concept has been taken in it.
23:14 Another one has also come, in which while discussing our book, it has been shown that
23:21 Girls should be taught, no matter what the situation is.
23:25 Professor, I would like to know one thing from you.
23:29 You have retired from service.
23:35 But you have taught with a very long technique.
23:39 Students are in front of you, you are on the board.
23:42 You have a chalk in your hand, you write and show it to them.
23:44 You tell them, you explain.
23:46 But this new technique has come, which is called the digital world.
23:49 And with the help of digital technology, the education world is now moving forward quickly.
23:54 Now, how much do you fit yourself in your time and the changing world and changing form?
24:04 And how do you manage it yourself?
24:07 I believe that the time is coming, the time is coming,
24:13 In this, the age of blended learning will come.
24:17 Mixed learning.
24:19 The use of technology and the classical method of face-to-face interaction should also be there.
24:26 So, the use of technology in this, there are many plus points in it.
24:33 Like we cannot make a figure on a board, we cannot make a three-dimensional figure on a board.
24:40 It has to be imagined.
24:42 But with the help of technology, that three-dimensional figure can also be explained to students very easily.
24:51 This is a great use of technology.
24:56 And we should also use technology.
25:00 And we said that blended learning is the most advantageous.
25:05 There is no answer to interactive learning, which is face-to-face.
25:09 But it also had some disadvantages.
25:12 Like we said, it was difficult to show three-dimensional figures.
25:17 And with the help of technology, we can easily show three-dimensional figures.
25:23 So, it becomes interesting.
25:26 And that's why we support blended learning.
25:31 That this should be moved forward.
25:34 What message would you like to give to the students preparing for IIT-JEE, so that their path can be easier?
25:43 This is not my question.
25:46 In fact, some of our viewers are students and they know you very well.
25:51 They want us to ask you this question.
25:54 The students who are preparing for IIT, I have to say that success is not achieved by doing hard work alone.
26:08 I believe that if you adopt hard work, strong will, self-confidence and the right strategy, then you will definitely succeed.
26:29 And in this success, economic hardship, lack of money, can't be a factor.
26:38 If you are enthusiastic, if your intention is firm, then you will definitely succeed.
26:46 If other people can do it, then why can't you?
26:50 So, I believe that if you are hard-working, if your intention is firm, if you have self-confidence and you adopt the right strategy, then you will definitely succeed.
27:05 There is no need to worry.
27:07 And whenever you wake up, you should start preparing by asking for the morning.
27:12 Absolutely.
27:13 There is no shortage of good teachers in Bihar.
27:18 Despite this, a large number of students from Bihar flee to other states.
27:28 We have seen many hoardings of coaching centers in Patna on the road and on the highway.
27:35 It is written that Kota's education is now in Patna.
27:39 This is in their advertisement.
27:41 So, when will Patna become Kota?
27:44 I believe that it should be written in Kota that Patna's education is now in Kota.
27:50 If you go to the data, then the students studying in Kota are also from Bihar, UP, mostly students.
28:02 And the teachers are also from Bihar.
28:08 So, when students and teachers are from Bihar and UP, then why not?
28:14 Good education can be done only in Patna.
28:17 In 2000, 9 students out of the first 50 students competing in IIT were from Bihar and Jharkhand.
28:33 And they had brought this rank from their studies here.
28:39 We can tell you the name, which school they were from, where they are working now.
28:47 So, when the education here is so good, then why should we go outside and study?
28:53 It is more convenient to study near the house.
28:58 In Corona, we saw how much trouble the children of Kota had to face in coming back.
29:04 So, we believe that when the teachers from Bihar go there and teach,
29:09 there are many teachers in Bihar, so they should prepare here.
29:14 And even after preparing here, they have brought the rank.
29:19 You can also bring the rank. This is what we have to do.
29:23 The Outlook Press has awarded you the title of Professor Casey Sinha in 2018 and 2019.
29:36 In Mumbai, you were awarded the Global Excellence Award.
29:48 And you were awarded this title by the film actress Madhuri Dixit.
29:53 Last year, we read in the newspapers, you were also awarded by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
30:04 We want to know, did the Bihar government award you this title?
30:12 Yes, every year, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was the first Education Minister of India.
30:23 His birthday is on 11th November.
30:27 On 11th November, India celebrates the Indian Education Day.
30:33 And on this occasion, a person who does excellent work in the field of education is awarded.
30:44 His name is Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Education Award.
30:49 This is the highest education award in Bihar.
30:53 The government awards this title and the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Education Minister, Education Department Officers,
31:05 and the children of different schools are also awarded.
31:09 The public is also awarded this title.
31:12 I would like to thank the Bihar government for awarding this title in 2019.
31:26 The Chief Minister awarded this title with his own hands.
31:30 And by receiving this award, the enthusiasm increases and we get the inspiration to do better in the future.
31:37 Professor, your book on Quantitative Aptitude has recently become very popular.
31:46 And now you are writing a book on Postgraduate Mathematics.
31:50 So, what is special about these books?
31:53 Our books are based on a new pattern.
31:57 And because of this pattern, it has become popular.
32:00 We have also felt this while studying that there are 100 questions in an exercise.
32:07 Now, a student gets tired while making a student.
32:12 He feels that there are 100 questions in each chapter.
32:15 How to do it?
32:16 So, we categorized the problems.
32:20 Type 1, Type 2, Type 3.
32:22 And we saw that in one chapter, there are only two types, three types, four types of questions.
32:27 And we wrote the method of making each type of question in our book, the working rule.
32:34 And we gave the working rule, we made it typewise and made two or four questions on it.
32:40 And we gave the exercise in the same way.
