00:00I'm a non-vegetarian 21st century will belong to vegetarian
00:03It's cause of death in the world
00:04If I prove that an apple is better than a mango
00:08That doesn't mean mango is prohibited
00:10I have some problems with this
00:11Man has become an enemy
00:13He's more like a lawyer than like a scientist
00:15There's a misconception
00:17Neither a single verse which is against established science
00:19And I challenge Dr. William Campbell
00:21It's a different situation, I will not tempt God
00:23I apologize if I've heard the feelings of any Christians
00:25It was just a reply to Dr. William Campbell's book
00:27Brother has asked a very complicated question
00:30The answer is very clear
00:31Major minor religion, fraud is prohibited
00:33Ask me a direct question, I'll be too willing to give you a reply
00:36Is milk very non-vegetarian?
00:37If this was not done, life on the earth will have ceased to exist
00:40Then could you please prove it authentically?
00:42The word dignity doesn't exist
00:43If CDC baat hai
00:44Smoking is prohibited
00:45That's final
00:46I hope I have answered properly
00:47It's illogical and unscient
00:49That does not mean Quran is wrong
00:50It is really more to me
00:57Oh, people of the world
01:02Can we spill a little justice?
01:08Can we spill a little peace?
01:14Oh, children of the world
01:18Oh, people of the world
01:22Can we spill a little love?
01:27Can we spill a little prayer?
01:32For the children of the world
01:39As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
01:49May the peace, blessings and mercy of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala be on all of you

06:28And I would like to thank
06:30The Oxford Union
06:31Especially its president
06:33Mr. James Langman
06:35For making this event possible
06:37The topic
06:39Of my talk today
06:41Is
06:41Islam
06:43And the 21st century
06:45Islam
06:48Comes
06:49From the root word
06:50Salaam
06:51Which means peace
06:52It's also derived
06:54From the Arabic word
06:56Silm
06:56Which means
06:57To submit
06:58Your will to almighty God
07:00Islam in short means
07:02Peace acquired
07:03By submitting your will
07:04To almighty God
07:05And any person
07:07Who submits
07:08Silm to almighty God
07:09He is called
07:10As a Muslim
07:11Many people
07:13Have a misconception
07:14That Islam
07:16Is a new religion
07:17Which came
07:19Into existence
07:20400 years ago
07:21And prophet
07:22Muhammad
07:23Peace be upon him
07:24Is the founder
07:25Of this religion
07:25In fact
07:27Islam
07:28Is there
07:29Since time immemorial
07:30Since man
07:32Set foot on this earth
07:33And prophet
07:35Muhammad
07:35Peace be upon him
07:36Is not the founder
07:37Of this religion
07:38But he is the last
07:39And final messenger
07:40Of almighty God
07:42The religion of Islam
07:46Is based
07:47On the teachings
07:48Of the glorious Quran
07:49Which came into existence
07:511400 years back
07:52Is it possible
07:56That today
07:57The humanity
07:59At large
07:59In this 21st century
08:01Can gain guidance
08:03How a life
08:04Should be led
08:04From a book
08:05Which is
08:061400 years old
08:07But natural
08:09The answer
08:10Obviously is no
08:11If this book
08:12Is written by human being
08:13But the glorious Quran
08:15Is the last
08:17And final revelation
08:18Of almighty God
08:19Which was revealed
08:20To the last
08:21And final messenger
08:22Prophet Muhammad
08:23Peace be upon him
08:24The glorious Quran
08:26Is the proclamation
08:28To humanity
08:29It is the fountain
08:31Of mercy
08:32And wisdom
08:33It's a guide
08:34To the erring
08:34It's a warning
08:36To the heedless
08:36It's an assurance
08:38To those in doubt
08:38It's a solace
08:39To the suffering
08:40And it is an hope
08:42To those in despair
08:43The glorious Quran
08:45Is the last
08:46And final revelation
08:47Of almighty God
08:48Which was revealed
08:49To the last
08:50And final messenger
08:51Prophet Muhammad
08:52Peace be upon him
08:53For any book
08:54To claim
08:54That it is a word
08:56Of God
08:56For any book
08:58To prove
08:58That it is
08:59The revelation
09:00From almighty God
09:00It should stand
09:02The test of time
09:03Previously
09:05In the olden days
09:06It was the age
09:07Of miracles
09:08The glorious Quran
09:10Is the miracle
09:11Of miracles
09:12Later on
09:14Came the age
09:15Of literature
09:15And poetry
09:16Muslim
09:17And non-Muslim
09:19Arabic scholars
09:19Alike
09:20They acclaim
09:21The glorious Quran
09:22To be the best
09:23Arabic literature
09:24Available on the face
09:25Of the earth
09:25But today
09:27If a religious book
09:29In a very poetic fashion
09:30Says
09:31The world is flat
09:32Will a modern man
09:34Believe in it
09:35But naturally
09:36The answer is no
09:37Because today
09:38Is not the age
09:40Of literature
09:40And poetry
09:41Today
09:42Is the age
09:43Of science
09:44And technology
09:45So let us analyze
09:46Whether the glorious Quran
09:48Is compatible
09:49Or incompatible
09:51With modern science
09:52According to Albert Einstein
09:54The famous physicist
09:56And the Nobel Prize winner
09:58Who I am told
09:59Also addressed
10:00This historic Oxford Union
10:01He said
10:03Science without religion
10:05Is lame
10:06And religion without science
10:09Is blind
10:10Let me remind you
10:12The glorious Quran
10:14Is not a book of science
10:16S-C-I-E-N-C-E
10:19But it's a book of science
10:21S-I-G-N-S
10:23It's a book of ayats
10:24It's a book of verses
10:25And the glorious Quran
10:27Has more than 6,000 signs
10:296,000 ayats
10:306,000 verses
10:31Out of which
10:32More than a thousand
10:33Speak about science
10:34As far as my talk
10:37Today is concerned
10:38I will only be speaking
10:40About scientific facts
10:41I will not be speaking
10:43About scientific hypotheses
10:44And theories
10:45Which all of us
10:46Know many a time
10:47These theories
10:49And hypotheses
10:49Take you turns
10:54絆
10:54I will have to
10:59Allow
11:00to
11:04see you
11:04Also
11:05hear
11:05Maybe
11:06On Mont
11:17Love should be
11:18There is death
11:19Al-Fatihah
11:49This is the most important thing to know.

16:22In the field of astronomy
16:32a few decades earlier
16:34in the 1970s
16:36there were a group of scientists
16:38who described
16:39how the universe came into existence
16:42for which they got the Nobel Prize
16:45This they called as the Big Bang.
16:47And these scientists said that initially our universe was one primary nebula.
16:53Then there was a secondary separation.
16:55There was a Big Bang which gave rise to galaxies, the stars, the planets, the sun as well as the earth on which we live.
17:03This they called as the Big Bang.
17:06This what the scientists discovered about 40 years back is mentioned in the Quran 1400 years ago in Suri Ambiya, chapter number 21, verse number 30 where it says,
17:15Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and we clothed them asunder.
17:27This Big Bang which the scientists discovered recently is mentioned in the Quran 1400 years ago.
17:35Previously, we human beings, we thought that the world was flat.
17:39It was in 1577 when Sir Francis Drake sailed around the earth that he first time proved that the earth on which we live, it is spherical in shape.
17:51The Quran mentions 1400 years ago in Suri Naziyat, chapter number 79, verse number 30.
17:59And thereafter, we have made the earth egg shape.
18:02One of the meaning of Daha is an expanse and the earth is an expanse.
18:06The other meaning is derived from the Arabic word Dhuya, which means an egg.
18:10And today we know the earth is not completely round like a ball.
18:14It is threatened from the pole.
18:16It is geospherical in shape.
18:18And if we analyze the Arabic word Dhaha, it doesn't refer to a normal egg.
18:22It specifically refers to the egg of an ostrich.
18:25And if we analyze the egg of an ostrich is too geospherical in shape.
18:30Imagine, the glorious Quran 1400 years ago says that the earth is geospherical in shape.
18:37Previously, we thought that the light of the moon was its own light.
18:41Recently, we have come to know that the light of the moon is not its own light, but it is a reflected and borrowed light.
18:47The Quran says in Surah Furkan, chapter number 25, verse number 61,
18:52Blessed is he who has placed the constellation in the sky and placed therein sun, a lamp, having its own light, and moon, having borrowed or reflected light.
19:02So the Quran describes the moon light as borrowed or reflected, which we came to know recently in science.
19:08Recently, science means 50 years back, 100 years back, 200 years back.
19:11When I was in school, I passed my school in 1982, about 29 years back.
19:19There, I had learned in science that the sun, though it revolves, it does not rotate about its own axis.
19:27But the Quran mentions in Surah Anbiya, chapter number 21, verse number 33,
19:32It is he who has created the night and the day.
19:39The sun and the moon, each one traveling in orbit with its own motion.
19:45The Quran says the sun and the moon, besides revolving, it also rotates about its own axis.
19:50And today, recently, a few decades earlier, science has come to know that the sun rotates and takes about 25 days to complete one rotation,
19:59which has been incorporated in most of the school textbooks throughout the world.
20:03There may be certain skeptics who will say,
20:08It's nothing great that the Quran speaks about astronomy, since the Arabs were advanced in the field of astronomy.
20:16I do agree that the Arabs were advanced in the field of astronomy,
20:20but I'd like to remind them that the Arabs became advanced in the field of astronomy a few hundred years after the Quran was revealed.
20:29So, it is from the Quran that the Arabs learned about astronomy and not the vice versa.
20:36In the field of hydrology,
20:39we learn in the school about the water cycle.
20:43How the water evaporates from the ocean, forms into clouds, moves into the interior, falls down as rain,
20:49and the water table is replenished.
20:51This was first described by Sir Bernard Palissy in the year 1580.
20:57The Quran, too, describes the water cycle in great detail 1400 years ago.
21:03The Quran says the water evaporates from the ocean, forms into clouds, the clouds join,
21:07they move into the interior, they fall down as rain,
21:10and the water table is replenished, and the water cycle is completed.
21:13The Quran speaks about the water cycle in great detail in several places.
21:19In Suray Az-Zumur, chapter number 39, verse number 21.
21:22In Suray Room, chapter number 30, verse number 24.
21:25In Suray Mu'minun, chapter number 23, verse number 18.
21:27In Suray Hijar, chapter number 15, verse number 22.
21:30In Suray Noor, chapter number 24, verse number 43.
21:33In Suray Araf, chapter number 7, verse number 57.
21:36In Suray Raad, chapter number 13, verse number 17.
21:39In Suray Furkan, chapter number 25, verse number 48 and 49.
21:42In Suray Fatir, chapter 35, verse number 9.
21:44In Suray Yasin, chapter number 36, verse number 34.
21:48In Surah Jashya, chapter number 45, verse number 5.
21:51In Surah Qaf, chapter number 50, verse number 8 and 9.
21:53In Surah Waqiyah, chapter number 56, verse number 68 to 70.
21:57In Surah Mulq, chapter 67, verse number 30.
21:59In Surah Tariq, chapter number 86, verse number 11.
22:01I can go on and on giving references only in the Quran of the several verses which speak about the water cycle in great detail.
22:11In the field of oceanography, there's a verse in the Quran.
22:15In Surah Furkan, chapter number 25, verse number 53, which says that
22:21He has let two bodies of flowing water, one sweet and palatable and the other salty and bitter.
22:30Though they meet, they do not mix.
22:32There is a barrier which is forbidden to be trespassed.
22:35Previously, we human beings knew that there are two types of water, sweet and salty.
22:40But the commentator of the Quran could not understand what does God Almighty mean
22:44by saying that these two waters, when they meet, they do not mix
22:48and there is a barrier which is forbidden to be trespassed.
22:50Today, after science's advance, we have come to know
22:53that whenever one type of water flows into the other type of water,
22:57it loses its constituents and gets homogenized into the water it flows.
23:01This, today, science calls as the transitional homogenizing area
23:06which the Quran refers to as barzak, as a barrier.
23:10And this can be seen in Cape Point, the southernmost tip of South Africa.
23:16And when we see even the color of the water between these two types of water differs.
23:21And Professor Hay, a very famous oceanologist,
23:24he said that this information came to the human knowledge recently.
23:28This book, the Quran, it's difficult to explain how does it mention 14 years ago.
23:36In the field of biology, the Quran says,
