What is the missile debris found in India? Missile and drone debris has been discovered across India's border states.
Transcript
00:00Preliminary investigations into the recovered debris indicate that some of the drones used
00:09by Pakistan were Turkish-made, specifically the Songar armed drone systems manufactured
00:14by AssisGuard. These are combat drones designed for low-intensity conflicts and are equipped
00:19to carry machine guns.
00:20Preliminary reports suggest them to be an AssisGuard Songar drone of Turkey.
00:27The Indian government has confirmed that the fragments of these drones were recovered in
00:30several locations. Officials say this is part of a coordinated attempt to breach India's
00:35northern and western frontiers, involving around 300 to 400 drones at 36 locations, from
00:41Siachen in the north to Sur Creek in the west. This marks a significant development in Pakistan's
00:46drone strategy.
00:47Until now, its drone arsenal has largely consisted of Chinese-made systems. The use of Turkish
00:53drones points to a growing defence partnership between Islamabad and Ankara.
00:57Just days before the attack, Turkish President Erdogan spoke to Pakistan's Prime Minister
01:01Shehbaz Sharif, extending support after India carried out targeted strikes on nine terror bases
01:06in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Authorities have urged residents in the affected areas
01:12not to touch or collect any unidentified debris or metallic fragments that may have fallen from
01:17the sky. These could be dangerous or hold forensic value. The escalation comes amid reports that
01:22Pakistan fired its Fateh-2 surface-to-surface missile at a strategic Indian location in Sirsa,
01:28which was successfully intercepted by Indian Air Defence Systems.
