00:00And the Kansas City Royals have won six in a row in 15 of their last 17.
00:05Will it be seven straight today in KC Moe, a slight pick-em underdog at home in Kauffman
00:11now against the Boston Red Sox.
00:13Total stands at nine.
00:15Will it be seven straight for the Royals today, DRS?
00:18I think the Sox win this game, and here's how I'm going to lay this out.
00:21No statistics last year for Hunter Dobbins in Major League Baseball.
00:24This year, only 74 batters.
00:25However, of those 74 batters, left-handed batters have gotten the best of them,
00:29which includes a 312 ISO and a weighted-on-base percentage of 346.
00:33But he's been very good against right-handed batters.
00:36Now, here's the problem that you look at.
00:37I just told you.
00:38Dobbins struggles with lefties.
00:40Give me the good lefties in the lineup today for the Kansas City Royals.
00:42There really aren't any.
00:43We love Vinny P.
00:44He's got a 185 ISO, which is very good, but a lower weighted-on-base percentage as a lefty
00:48going up against righty pitchers.
00:51Excuse me.
00:51Michael Mast, a guy I bet a lot last year, really hasn't come into his own just yet.
00:55He's struggling mightily with right-handed pitching.
00:57And Kyle Isbell in the last spot in the lineup due to bat ninth.
01:00He's got a 292 weighted-on-base percentage.
01:02So, if you're looking for an optimum guy to hit, you'd love a lot of lefties.
01:06Like so many times, we talk about, let's just say, the Baltimore Orioles.
01:09If they would present themselves against a right-handed pitcher with a lot of really good
01:11lefties to start the lineup, we don't have that for Kansas City.
01:14Now, let's take a look at Michael Lorenzen.
01:16You're a run-of-the-mill pitcher.
01:17He doesn't have terrible statistics on the year.
01:19You're 18th out of 30 pitchers coming into today, Ben, with a 4.39 XFIP number.
01:24It's not bad.
01:25However, take a look at what he's done in the past so far.
01:28168 batters he's faced.
01:30A combined ISO power number of 222 and a weighted-on-base percentage of 350.
01:35Elevated.
01:36If you look at lefty batters, they're elevated.
01:37Righty batters alike, elevated as well.
01:39Look at the first five batters in that lineup tonight for the Boston Red Sox.
01:43It's right into pitching in 2025.
01:45Every one of those guys, high ISO.
01:48Every one of those guys, high-weighted-on-base percentage.
01:50Durant, Devers, Bregman, Campbell, and Abreu.
01:52I do think the Red Sox win this game in Kauffman tonight.
