00:00Game number two, and I'm going to brand it the most relaxing playoff game of all time.
00:07You said it yesterday, and you are not wrong.
00:09I don't know if it's the most relaxing of all time, but right now in this moment
00:13and what they're going through and where they are in this series,
00:16yeah, I'm thinking about worst-case scenario outside of another.
00:20I don't even want to mention what it would be,
00:22but if somebody were to sustain a certain something,
00:26that would make it to where it would not be so relaxing.
00:28But if you go out and you play basketball and you lose a game
00:32because the team that you're playing basketball against is better than you,
00:35big deal. Big fish dinner.
00:38Well, but it's only like, quote-unquote, shrug shoulders, big deal,
00:43because it's game two.
00:45I'm not going to say that about all the games.
00:47It's a pivotal game. The even-numbered games are always the most pivotal game.
00:49But actually, the opportunity tonight is for the Warriors, not for the Wolves.
00:54The Wolves are, dude, do you remember, you ever see Shawshank Redemption?
01:00Many times.
01:00Remember the little tunnel that Andy climbs through to get out of the prison?
01:06That's where the Wolves are if they lose tonight.
01:08You're in a big old tube full of you-know-what if you lose this basketball game tonight.
01:14The Warriors are just on a plane home,
01:17and what happened will be what everybody's expecting to happen
01:21if they lose this game tonight.
01:22I'm telling you, man, I'm not telling you.
01:25Do not believe that this doesn't mean wherever Christy and I decide to watch this tonight,
01:30and we are on the search.
01:32We are still on the search.
01:33You guys are watch-party free agents?
01:35We are.
01:35Like, well, no, we've sort of decided to make these Warrior playoffs a little tour,
01:39a tour of all kinds of, like, where can we go watch the game?
01:43So if you've got a good idea, and I don't want it to be all, like,
01:46we're not going to Santa Cruz.
01:47We've got to get there by game time.
01:49So tonight may not be the night to, like, tell us everything,
01:52but Saturday night, we could go anywhere.
01:55We could go anywhere, and we're picking different places to go for every single game.
01:59So would love your thoughts.
02:00Hit us up with that.
02:02But, yeah, wherever we go, watch this thing tonight.
02:05I'm going to kick my feet up.
02:07I will pump my fist if the Warriors take a lead.
02:09I will yelp.
02:10I will scream.
02:11I will sweat all those things.
02:12But if the Warriors lose this basketball game, dot, dot, dot, it's okay.
02:18It's okay.
02:19It's not okay for Minnesota if they lose this game.
02:22It's probably not.
02:22And that makes it the most, again, I didn't call it just overall relaxing,
02:27but it's the most relaxing playoff game that the Warriors have had yet.
02:31In a long time.
02:31Yeah.
02:32Yeah, without a doubt.
02:32I mean, even when they were up, what, 3-1 on Houston,
02:35that wasn't really that relaxing because you were on the road,
02:39and, you know, you'd like to close it out, but, you know,
02:41you realize that you go to Houston and you don't win.
02:44Okay, now it's game six, and that's not relaxing
02:46because if you lose that game six, God forbid,
02:50you've got to go to Houston, and you said it,
02:52and I kind of co-signed of like, oh, God, if they lose,
02:56then you've got to go back to Houston.
02:57I don't like their chances.
02:58So there's nothing relaxing about being up 3-1 with a game five on the road
03:03against a team that is young and hungry.
03:06And this one, yeah, it's a little bit relaxing.
03:08Of course the Warriors want to win.
03:10There's no one right now in Minneapolis in a Warrior jersey thinking,
03:13you know what, we're just going to Netflix and chill this thing.
03:16No, no, definitely not.
03:17Because we don't even really mind.
03:18Well, we don't have Steph,
03:19and so we might as well go out there and lose quick.
03:22But as a fan, I'm kind of with you where if they do lose,
03:26and I've predicted already, and I'm not going to do this the whole show
03:29because I don't want to be in a negative mind space,
03:31but I do think that Minnesota is set up to win this game.
03:34Do you think they're going to win by 30?
03:36Yeah, probably, maybe 35.
03:37They might.
03:38He'll be 40.
03:39They might.
03:40They might.
03:40And if they do, I will not go home discouraged.
03:43And nor will we come in tomorrow if Buddy goes 0 for 11 from 3.
03:47Never going to be mad about Buddy again.
03:49Never, bro.
03:50Never.
03:50Never.
03:50His name is Buddy, and he is a Warriors.
03:53I just wonder about the starting lineup,
03:54and we can get into it as we get closer to tip-off time.
03:58My name is Buddy.
03:59Thank you, Buddy.
03:59That's a 888-957-9570, but, like, who do you start?
04:04If you're Steve Kerr, you don't have the chef, and you're going to have Jimmy and Draymond
04:07and Buddy, and...
04:09Jimmy, Draymond, and Buddy.
04:12Pods?
04:12Right.
04:13And...
04:13Odds?
04:14Oof.
04:14Small lineup.
04:15Yeah.
04:16You could throw Pat Spencer out there.
04:17My fault.
04:18My fault.
04:18Maybe GP2.
04:20Nice.
04:20Maybe Kavon Looney.
04:21Right?
04:21I don't know.
04:22Yeah.
04:22I don't know.
04:23I don't know.
04:24I don't know.
04:24And I don't...
04:26I mean, I get the intrigue.
04:28It's always intriguing.
04:29Yeah, it's intriguing.
04:29I don't know how much it matters.
04:31I think that tonight is a night where the Warriors get to experiment a little bit.
04:35They're going to have to experiment with some new rotations.
04:38And so there will be a process of seeing what works, what looks good, what doesn't.
04:44I'm preparing myself for three to four-minute stretches where the Warriors not only don't score,
04:49but it looks ugly.
04:49There might be shot clock violations.
04:52I'm preparing myself for these things.
04:53So mentally, tonight is okay.
04:57Now, with that said, what do you think about the premise that I threw out on the crossover?
05:04And we'd love to hear from you.
05:06888-957-9570.
05:08At 3 o'clock, we're going to let you hear everything that Steph Curry had to say with his media availability.
05:14At 3.30, Bob Fitzgerald is going to join us.
05:17At 4.30, it's Warriors Live.
05:18Today's going to move quick.
05:20We'd love to hear from you.
05:21We would suggest you get in now.
05:238-8-8, 9-5-7, 9-5-70.
05:26I do think, in an odd way, there's a little bit better chance of either call it a Warrior win or just call it a tight, close game.
05:38I feel like there's a little bit of a better chance of that tonight because Steph is out.
05:43And please don't take that meaning that the Warriors are better without him.
05:48It just means that the ingredients of this stew have changed in a very, very significant way.
05:55And we know the flow of a playoff series.
05:58When the home team loses game one, they usually come back two nights later with a wrath never before seen in terms of the amount of desperation and energy they throw at you.
06:12And it's very hard to beat that.
06:13I know it's happened in the Eastern Conference in both series, but they were both weird games and totally gagged games by the home teams.
06:22So the reason I feel that, though, is I do think the mental approach to game two for the Warriors is very different now that Steph is out.
06:31You do not have the ability to take your foot off the gas and say, it's okay, we're heading home with a split, and we'll get them on Saturday night.
06:44Because, let's be real, you may well be an underdog in every game the rest of the way.
06:50That's probable.
06:51You may be an underdog in every game for the rest of this series, or as long as Steph Curry is out.
06:58And so now you play, you kind of play with that.
07:01You're like, if we need to get Steph back on this court, we have to take every opportunity to pluck a game off of these guys.
07:10Tonight is the first opportunity to do so.
07:13So you have to play, I think, a little bit with a little bit more drive and a little bit more focus than you would have if you were at full strength.
07:21Sure, and that's great, and I do think that that's a reality.
07:24But also you're dealing with a couple of veterans in Jimmy and Draymond and Kavon certainly as well in GP2.
07:31Guys who understand the value of taking one out of two on the road, and I do think that there's a certain amount of a mentality of settling.
07:39Because you've already, quote, checked the box.
07:42You went to Minnesota, you stole one, and you don't have Steph Curry, your best player.
07:46So there's a little bit of a letdown mentality anyway when you're the road team who's already won a game.
07:52I do think about last night, Boston and New York, where New York had that mentality, and then they cut it to 12 or 13, and it's like, oh, you know what?
08:00We might actually be able to surge and win this, and they did, and they did.
08:05So the Warriors, I'm not going to say that they're going to fall down by 30 and lose by 50.
08:09And I was just being facetious earlier, saying they're going to lose by 30.
08:12They might.
08:13I mean, if I'm Minnesota, and I look at what you've done, 12 of 76 from three, the last two games, I realize that you're probably better than that.
08:22And if you're Minnesota, this is not your last stand.
08:25It's not a must win.
08:26But you look at a team without Steph Curry, and you've got to be licking your chops over the idea that this is the most winnable game of all the remaining games.
08:35I'm glad you mentioned licking your chops, because it's gravy time.
