00:00i'm trying to do a read here i need to credit and say can you do the correct one yes i can um
00:07we go down the tough road we go down the tough road stoney toyota tundra now back to stoney and
00:15guru on 95 7 the game the crossover my guys right it's brought to you by abundant life weight loss
00:22they know the secret of losing up to one pound of fat every day go to abundant life weight loss
00:26dot com mark willard dan dibley gentlemen we got a big one tonight it's a big one all right and it's
00:33big i'm confident i am pretty confident myself but then again you get into it and you see how
00:39things can go when you play a team like memphis a lot of possessions and they can get super hot on
00:45you and you could be in a world of hurt but i'm going willard if you said they lose this game
00:49yesterday the same time then you're you're you're not out but you felt like i'm done that's where i'm
00:55at they're not going to lose tonight they better not balloon pops if they do but not technically
01:02balloon pops that's right that's the only one i got they got a game five day they would yes yes they
01:07don't turn their their badges in they don't give their uniforms back to the head coach security
01:13doesn't come to escort them out no exit interviews that happens but their chances fly right out the
01:22door it becomes tough and i was doing a little bit of a deep dive on teams who win 67 games and we
01:28know that i believe four of them have not won the nba title only one of them lost in the first round
01:34and that of course was the avery johnson led ride dallas mavericks that lost to the warriors and so i
01:40looked at that team this morning and thought how could a team that wins 67 games lose in that fashion
01:47and i looked at their year they started out oh and four dallas did so they went on to go really
01:53they went 67 and 11 that's the rest of the way i didn't know that i didn't either and so i'm looking
01:58at their losses of their 15 losses in the regular year three of them were to the golden state warriors
02:04so that they accounted for 25 20 of the losses and then i started looking at the numbers numbers are
02:10numbers but they are these numbers stood out because their their point differential led them to have an
02:16expected win total of 61 wins so they were six wins better than what their metrics would indicate
02:22which leads me to this year oklahoma city 68 wins best point differential in nba history in the
02:29regular year and their expected win total this year is 68 wins do you spend your morning doing this
02:35no it is good stuff right notice this there's something that got ramped up this year and i'm like i don't
02:43know if you're trying to avoid uh a feeding myla or what like what what happens in the morning where
02:49you turn into the bobby marks of like warriors and 49ers numbers you know i love math you i know you love
02:57math and the way my days go now she gets dropped off about 9 15 like what's 28 times 61 go uh that would
03:04be uh 30 times 60 would be 1800 and then you'd take uh you know you'd have to do a little bit more
03:10math than that 28 times 61 that would be uh just see if you're a rain man like how quick can you do
03:16that dustin hoffman um i'll tell you 17 69 would be my guess but i'm just ballparking it i'd have to
03:22really what did i say 28 it's hard to do it while you're also talking by the way but it gives you some
03:27time yeah 1708 anyway go ahead yeah so let me tell you what it is let me tell you what the answer
03:32isn't 143 yeah well oh we can get to that yeah no we can't do that i don't i can't say that hurts
03:39because i love you you are my mentor you don't know i love you don't know where i come down on your
03:45number i don't i and these are my number numbers are numbers and i want your numbers so you have a
03:52oh iq of 143 why are you laughing did we didn't let you go to 23 and me to get like where are you
04:00i don't even know where you went to 143 is me where do you i'm a loving father thank you i've never
04:08heard i'm a loving family laugh before we've been together seven years okay and if this was stick
04:13it would have came out seven years ago so on this random tuesday i come in i'm a loving father and
04:20before our kids were going to college thinking about college my wife had this whole thing with
04:24kaiser to where they were given scholarships and they had an educational program in one of the
04:29executive offices in sacramento so being a loving father she was at work i had to take them and i
04:35walk in it's packed and then i waited for my kids to do their test with the other kids and the lady goes
04:41oh mr johnson what do you do i told her what i did so i'm sitting there on the phone she goes have you
04:46never taken an iq test i said no i have not so she goes you have 90 minutes i said they're going
04:51to be here two hours i got 90 let's go and got a 143 and i just so happy they do they just attach a
04:58gizmo to your head i just did the test and answered the questions and 143 was my number okay so nahegan
05:05comes in if you could prove that i'll buy lunch just hurt my feelings and then my phone's blown up
05:10from people i love yeah that i thought love me they think i'm making this up and i have watched
05:16oppenheimer five times it's a great movie but if you watch the movie and know what the subject matter
05:22is i think that's part of the 143 that attracts me to that but you took the test before you saw
05:29any oppenheimer i don't get i don't get the connection maybe it's because i'm only at 142
05:34oppenheimer they're geniuses dr j oppenheimer oppenheimer was a genius you also took this test
05:39before you became a sports radio host yeah no this was five years ago i was already five years
05:44ago because this does make you dumber oh why i don't know that's all this job because they need
05:50to play comingo that's right but with a real quick study they think i'm like why would i pick why not
05:54183 i have a i have the actual scale and did y'all pull up the scale bob meyers sent the scale in
06:02thank you bob so bob and i are of like mind hey bob i do you know where you fall like do you know
06:08what the label is she told me above average but i never flaunted that like i just it is above
06:13average it's actually even above above average yes it is okay that was my number you you are and
06:19numbers are numbers you are on the very top end of moderately gifted not highly gifted almost i take
06:29it 145 yeah and you're highly gifted whoa but you're below that yeah so you're moderately gifted
06:35it's on the high end willard i i hope you believe and look at your boy i'm not lying
06:42it was one of a salesman i'm gonna find it arthur miller i'm gonna bring it to 122
06:47i get a point just that i don't know that's a negative point i would love to see it i don't
06:53need to i'm gonna find we're gonna find the wife's already on okay i believe you that that's why
06:58willard i went to a super bowl party that's right i believe that man and honestly if we're talking
07:03about iq you went to the wrong house in trying to find a super bowl party i got you at 142 yeah but
07:10did you know that book smart people sometimes don't do so well on them streets yeah i'm not
07:14saying that's about you yeah no but some of the smartest people i know could not uh they could
07:20not grocery shop for themselves that's fair like i have no where's the fruit like have you been
07:25outside before i have some of the smartest but people are like i've never gotten to be in my life
07:30i'm like you can't find that story my buddies tell me tell me i'm lying tell me the difference
07:36between an isosceles triangle and a scalene triangle scalene now listen scalene listen i'm being real
07:45scalene i don't like pressure i'm down to 118 and that's why when you look at my history on jock
07:50pretty it's bad so this iq test wasn't under a time constraint you had all day no i had 90 minutes
07:56no they're always under a time constraint i had 90 minutes and i think he lightweight believes me
08:01willard thank you and dibs you have you taken that test right now we have a hung jury uh as to
08:06whether or not i believe you i've taken the test so my buddy scott bissey we all run college and uh
08:12i want scott bissey in a burger king bathroom
08:14that's a oh my god that's what we used to say because that did not say that was not
08:20one of the greatest lines ever you know what the word extemporaneous means wow it means off the top
08:26of your head i'm up to 119 that's yeah you're rising his now wife then girlfriend was a psychology
08:32major at ucla so she put us all through the test okay and she sat there taking notes and the test is
08:38comprised of puzzles and like words yeah i mean no it's just the scott busy thing just hit me again
08:45i'm sorry that was a great double up because that song came out when we all were in college
08:50i got i'm with so it just hit me again all of like the word math portion of the iq test i'm just
08:56killing it and then we got to the puzzles where you had to actually like okay these puzzle pieces
09:00and make shapes and your boy like flip the desk and she's over there just writing down notes at my
09:05tantrums because i i can't do those puzzles yeah i i have a triangle is all the equal sides right
09:11i don't know i was asking you i think if anyone would know in the room it would be
09:15i think it is though let's see this might be 152 i'm not gonna redo the test and you guys aren't
09:20asking me right yeah i get pressure triangle this could i want to say yes to that yeah yeah i think
09:25it's got equal size what's a hypotenuse i'm not i'm not retaking the test on air i just i'm gonna
09:31produce the test that i love it the wife you won't you will not produce the test the boss said
09:36you'll bring in some kind of result don't let me eyeball this test that says 143 he said he wants
09:43it to be certified i'm like i can't win isosceles is two sides you're thinking equilateral which is
09:50all three isosceles triangle two that's two sides two sides that are equal not three three would
09:57be equilateral i just said none of them are equal there you go yeah so now the graphic team is
10:02uh replaced uh wilt chamberlain's face with the hundred with mine with the one for three
10:08perfect shout out rc yeah you just never know and iq is not as you were saying mark it's not
10:13necessarily indicative of education i was doing some research because i heard this on the way and i'm
10:19like i gotta find some uh some comps for our guy okay uh natalie portman graduated from harvard
10:26140 guru smarter than natalie portman snoop dog uh 146 come what school of hard knocks i believe
10:35that actually snoop that guy has marketed himself better than any human on face of the earth period
10:41a lady gaga like 175 i believe that you can go that high you can go it goes up to 180 and up
10:50that's when you're profoundly gifted yeah so 175 is exceptionally gifted but not profoundly i'll just
10:57say this you are living in a neighborhood with uh bill gates and stephen hawking the not money wise
11:03average iq score yeah you could argue if your iq's got high you done messed it all up somebody called
11:10them the biggest underachiever they've ever seen wow uh the uh the average iq score is between 85 and
11:18115 that's an average you're listening uh-huh to 95 7 the game kgmz fm and hd1 san francisco always
11:27live on the free odyssey app now broadcasting from the laughing monk studios laughing monk righteously
11:33brewed in san francisco let's see if we can do what we did to uh to mike yastrzemski uh a couple
11:39of weeks ago hot as fish grease can you spell brandon pajemski don't look mr 143 oh that's simple p-o-d
11:47g-e-m-s-k-i i mean just an absolute hot mess of a guess there is no spelling on the iq test
11:54yeah there's just so you know but that was johnson i'm not sure i could do it p-o-d p-o-d j-i-e-m-s-k-i
12:05y'all gotta get out of this whole pajemski thing there's no g there's no j you know he's gonna get
12:10it okay right we've done this before yeah i could get it wrong though because my iq is down about 104
12:15uh p-o-d-z-i-e-m-s-k-i we have a winner i before except after ski no we've done it before who wants
12:24to try yastrzemski i know yastrzemski go ahead mr y-a-s oh look at you t-r-z-e-m-s-k-i
12:35look at that yeah there you go that goes way back to stratomatic baseball and they had it on the tv
12:40so if you if you would like um if you would like to keep pace with dibs and stiny mr 143
12:51a lot of pressure please spell mike sheshefski man i'm not hey you guys are gonna steal my joy k-r-z-y-z-e-w-s-k-i
13:05now that's a hoops fan right yeah that's it there's two z's do it again the z-y-z is the key
13:11k-r-z-y-z-e-w-s-k-i it's kind of like you ever drive down to uh la all the time there's a road called
13:21zizix i've never seen that it's like zzy y xx or something it's over the grapevine yep you get over
13:28the grapevine right before you get to the gourmet it's like kind of your mojave oh you mean like it's
13:32just an exit you have a road that you have to take oh no you don't have to take yeah in fact i
13:37don't think anybody ever has i've never seen it but the word is a fascinating one to look at no doubt
13:43zzy y i think xx i think y is the key letter it is uh what is going on here yeah i'll tell you what's
13:52going on here you're not working tonight so chill out chill out what are you uh hey he's gonna have it
14:01tonight i think it's going to be a high scoring up and down track meet affair i do think jonathan
14:08comingo will play mark and i with a little uh betty bet yesterday on the air if moody doesn't play bet
14:14bets off that's what you don't get to do that when we actually i mean you can well no i totally i
14:20totally get to do that no welching no we literally the only provision we put in was if he only plays in
14:25garbage time i think it's obvious that if he's forced into action based on the injury to another
14:30that is not the spirit of what we did you can talk about do you go to the sports book and talk
14:35about the spirit of a wager i didn't bet it at a sports right i bet it with a supposed friend and
14:40i ain't buying you crap that's fair this moody doesn't play you will get a big bottle of welch's
14:45grape juice wow if he plays and i'm gonna drink it let me ask you to this yeah i would moody does
14:49play and kaminga resumes his old role what did kerr really accomplish sunday then by giving them
14:56the dmp um i don't know if it's about that i just i was just at it was a random what did he accomplish
15:02sunday my that can only dibs i could only answer that by saying nothing because what they were trying
15:08to accomplish was win the game and they didn't do it um so i i don't i don't know how to answer that
15:15i i know that you said yesterday that you felt like a message was sent to jk i know what you mean
15:21by that but i i don't i don't think that this was personal i don't think they were trying to tell him
15:26something i think they're looking at data that suggests that he's having a hard time fitting in
15:33with key players and in games that really matter the key players play even more so you wouldn't
15:38be shocked then if he didn't get in again i'd be shocked if he did wow i'm i'm a little if if
15:44moses moody plays yeah and stays healthy for the game i would be very surprised if jonathan played
15:50tonight yes see i i wow if i had a bet even if moody were to play i think he's got to play
15:58even about jk or yeah so then what did they accomplish by not playing on sunday if they're
16:04going to go back to just i thought they were going to go with their best team against
16:08the clippers and the clippers play slower and they play in a way that defensively they're going
16:14to make a guy like jonathan cominga have to pass and move the ball a lot and that's not his strength
16:19memphis for me is an opponent where they're going to be flying up and down and if you have a player
16:24like jk who thrives more in that environment he's a much better fit to play against memphis than he is
16:29the clippers i know that steve you could hear it one of two ways the comments that he made after the
16:34game you can hear it in a way of no that's what we just did for this game all right and you can also
16:40hear it as well no we've we've found our best line our group work better when he's not in the game
16:47so you can hear it whichever way you want to hear it i i don't know steve kerr to be someone who's who's
16:54it's been very rare if ever that he's done that where he's like i'm gonna make a change to my
16:59rotation and i'm gonna stick with it solely for tonight i'm going to fit my team it's almost what
17:04avery johnson tried to do against we believe remember he switched his damn lineup that was
17:10that's when you knew it was so it was like i don't think steve's the type that's going to be like i'm
17:16going to tailor this game to the clippers i think what steve did was we're gonna we're gonna squeeze
17:21this because we need it wow and so if that's what he did why wouldn't he do that again tonight you need
17:27it even more i mean it's made just really it may be he's in playoff mode and he's saying i'm playing
17:33eight or nine guys and then maybe coming is in a little bit of trouble i i refuse to believe that
17:40i don't know anymore but if i if they make the playoffs with a win tonight he's gonna play against
17:48houston agreed he's gonna have agreed but especially that matchup don't you think yes i do yeah i do and
17:54i do think he's gonna play tonight for kind of the same reason this is up and down as he
18:00dibs mentioned they they score i mean i i just think that's like that's a little bit of a
18:07simplification in an nba game memphis is up and down you know what i mean like that just because the game
18:13is a little faster i i don't think that makes steve kerr and the staff suddenly feel oh my god we need
18:19jonathan kaminga i think he plays if they get to houston i think he plays in that series because
18:24a it's a seven game series gonna be nasty right and b they are totally based on youth athleticism
18:32leaping ability all of the things that the warriors don't have anyone else that that that does but they
18:38kicked memphis's butt with 136 points a week and a half ago and jk didn't play in that game
18:42yeah and the thing about houston is i i agree people might not agree with this but sunday's game
18:50in a way is more important than game one in houston and tonight's game is more important in a way than
18:55game once you get to a seven game series you got wiggle room especially if you're the warriors
19:00and you you think you have championship pedigree and and you you know that the reason he's going to
19:06play in seven game series is too is because they have three veteran guys who they've got to monitor a
19:11little bit and i think you're right about game one if the warriors do get to a best of seven against
19:17houston you're just thinking about one or two probably not thinking about one and two so if
19:23you lose one you don't have to get to you'd rather not be down two games to none but being a veteran
19:28team and i think steph is four and five all time when they lose game one i'll have to check those numbers
19:34it's really good it's really good but then you know you look at all the series that they've won
19:39there haven't been a lot of series that steph and company have actually lost like right for example
19:44let's just say the warriors lose tonight and then they win friday i'll bet you coming is going to
19:49play sunday in oklahoma city oh it might it might start exactly everybody else is gonna have to watch
19:54i don't i don't even want to let that enter my brain tonight but the idea of losing tonight i can't even
20:01this would it would be an absolutely no i got you i got you if they lose well steinie's looking forward
20:07going on friday yeah that was pretty good look at this come on man so i know i went on a rant
20:14earlier because somebody called me out because we used the word iq and i was being racist or whatnot
20:19and i'm not we're just talking about basketball smarts when we talk about iq on the floor i had
20:24to go off and i'm not gonna hurt it okay i just hate that type stuff can i can't take a second on
20:30matt did somebody literally get to you by saying it's racist to call an nba team low iq because
20:37there's black people on it if the player i'm talking about is black people i just like i had
20:43to deal with that donnie sat out and let me handle my business listen to that crap but this is about
20:48okay crap ever this is about uh brandon okay we talked about i i gotta be careful here i don't think
20:54he's got from the basketball gods all the height all the jump out to gym uh gifts that some other
21:02athletes have about pods yeah pods but how he's carved out a role led the team in plus minus in year
21:09one on this team in this system i told steinie i got his iq i didn't say above average but it damn
21:16sure is not low when you hear pods and smarts what do you put for him to carve out a niche what looks
21:22like a niche now he's almost one four three in regard to iq because you know you're doing it
21:29almost at a disadvantage because you don't got super uh athletic dna don't you think i i think we
21:36do this and yes sometimes it does skew towards black and white when somebody isn't uber athletic
21:43and i think he is and they're good well let's define athletic right he's not a leaper okay he's not a
21:49dunker he's not right he's none of those things and he's not even tall so when someone plays well
21:56it's like chris mullen oh high iq if you're not super athletic but you're good at basketball is
22:01like you must be high iq i just think there's a thousand different ways to eat a reese's like
22:07brandon podjemski can drive full speed at a hoop and then somehow he hits it he has a pause button
22:12the decal and everybody goes flying by him and he and he lays it in and does the weirdest celebration
22:18i've ever seen is that athletic i think it is i think that's very a hero move right but we don't
22:24call it that so we have to brand him as high iq it's not that he's not he is but brandon
22:30brandon podjemski's good basketball player does a lot of stuff man rebounds the ball at his height
22:36he's an effort guy he's smart player yes he's a good shooter that's him he ends jump and put
22:41right he's quirky this is not an easy job good basketball player the position he's in and the
22:47system he's in stop it we talk we were talking about one thing iq and my feeling is i wouldn't
22:57call him high iq but you wouldn't call him low no that's where i went but what i'm saying is like i
23:04don't consider brandon podjemski oh he's got a much higher basketball iq than jonathan kaminga
23:11i actually don't believe that i just don't i think you know pods to me takes a couple i do
23:18bad threes a game on a heat check he takes some chances defensively that maybe aren't the right
23:24time to do it i'm not saying he's prop 48 that's not what i'm saying i'm just saying you know let's
23:31just be careful when we say well butler's high iq draymond's high iq pods is high iq whoa wait a
23:37minute wait a minute but for a second year player dibs to run this system and do what he did and i
23:42know they didn't make the playoffs in year one i'm giving you some flowers for that because you could
23:47it's set up for you to fail if you don't have your wherewithal upstairs yeah i think for me it's more
23:53about his confidence than it is about his iq and i was telling mark yesterday you watch him on sunday
23:58and he brings the ball up the left side and he's pointing at hall of famers he's saying you i saw it
24:03you there and it's like who does this guy think he is and well he thinks that he is the best player
24:08on the floor and that is awesome but having an outsized opinion of your role on the team
24:15that's not smart who has that you could make the case about podjemski oh that's all i'm saying
24:22no this is what i mean about no do you feel that way no i feel like dibs is right his number one
24:28characteristic is confident he thinks he belongs he's the guy who said we i lost this game and
24:35they're like relax dude you're not you're the seventh man okay so that's that's my point that
24:41irrational confidence at times translates to not the smartest player and i'm not saying he's a
24:48perfect player but it can become a problem i'll agree with that you want to know who who puttin boy
24:54this will talk about throwing a grenade i'm trying to think yeah yeah well you just john moran jordan
24:59pool you just to me you just described jordan pool but he's not as bad as pool at the end no he's not
25:06as bad as pool period end of sentence because he knows when curry wants that all he'll deliver it
25:11on a platter if i gotta go take it from dibs i believe that on a down under the covers that is
25:20part of what led to the entire jordan pool situation okay is that the big three were like
25:26dude just tap it down you get too big goldie like i'm steph curry i'll shoot the technical free throws
25:33funny guy wow i know you're leading the league in percentage i'm steph curry it's not funny chill
