00:10We have two sandhill cranes here in the Marsh Aviary
00:12in the Maryland Zoo. We've got Garrett
00:13and Allie. Garrett's been here for about
00:16two years right now and he is a little over
00:18two years old right now. Allie is about
00:20seven and she's been here for about a month.
00:24Sandhill cranes are found in
00:26most of the United States. Depending on the time of the
00:28year they're in different parts of the country. So around
00:30the winter time they're found in the southern United States
00:32like southern California, Florida and Texas.
00:34Around the summer they head up to the northern
00:36United States, Canada and Alaska and
00:38some of them are actually found in the Arctic.
00:44The training that you guys are looking at today
00:46is called station training. So every
00:48animal that we have here in the Maryland Zoo they have a different
00:50system of how we make sure that they're very very healthy
00:52and for all of our birds here in the aviary
00:54we like to make sure that they're weighing very well
00:56every single month so that their weight isn't getting too heavy
00:58or too light.
01:00It's not just the enrichment we put out for them, it's also
01:02the entire exhibit space that's an opportunity for
01:04them to do what they like to do in the wild.
01:06And so it's a really great place for them.
01:08Thank you.
01:10Thank you.
