00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Kiesenbetts and today I'm out in the streets of Manchester asking people about wind farms.
00:06And that's because over the last couple of years there's been a big push towards renewable energy and wind farms are sort of seen as the centre of that.
00:12We want to know if people will be willing to accept more wind farms in their area if you brought their energy costs down
00:17and what their concerns will be if wind farms were implemented in and around the city of Manchester.
00:22I think to an extent, as long as you don't damage anything, do it pretty green. It could be very positive because obviously it's a much better energy source.
00:32I'd absolutely welcome it. I think we need to move to, you know, we live on an island that has great tidal energy, has great wind power, arguably today's solar power.
00:42We need to move to that. We can be energy self-sufficient. We can be an energy exposure.
00:47I think something Britain suffers from the most is NIMBYs. Because no one wants, everyone wants more prisons, but no one wants a prison in your back garden.
00:56No one wants any renewables in that back garden, that kind of thing. I think it's a shame.
01:00It's naturally a weird thing...
01:02Even if the new plants don't consist from no one has to be financially efficient and often
01:04You can let the new plants that have to be 25 and 45 bits higher.
01:07You can look calculative.
01:12You know how short the army acchanalyуса can go dump.
01:15You know what?
01:17Speaking of the resiliency chain.
01:21You know the certainty can remainous.
01:23That's not a single thing.
01:24I think it's suspicious theity of the animati bucket.
01:26I think it would even be useful for a variety of things.
